ive just realized i have not been even remotely consistent with how to spell the title martyn calls ren in lamplight and i switch like every fic. i want to standardize it but i wanna see what the vibe is on preferred spelling before i do. so, treebark fans of the world,

i clearly cannot decide if lamplight is to go by but i want to pick one and stick with it

#i feel like each one has its own connotations #like milord sounds really fast and like how martyn usually says it #but the apostrophe in mi’lord makes it feel a bit more formal almost? i think i like this one best bc it retains the sound but reads slower #and the m’lord lacks the i #which martyn (at least in the audios that live rent free in my brain) uses pretty distinctly #so it almost sounds like it’s less energetic or maybe a bit dejected? #idk i just like words lol :D

the fast-paced modern age of information traveling on the internet is so terrifying to me. it's hard for me to enjoy anything without the worry that my favorite artist, musician, writer, game developer, youtuber, show director etc etc is actually a horrible piece of shit and my enjoyment of the thing they created will support them no matter how much i separate the art from the artist because any type of enjoyment no matter how minuscule or private will inevitably spread that support to the creator in one way or another

I often see people asking "is the idea I have unique and interesting?" and I think the most important thing is — is it unique to you, is it interesting to you? does it make you happy? does it bring you comfort? is it inspired by things you love and cherish? if so, that's the only thing that really matters because it doesn’t have to be good for the whole world, it has to be good for you. so create, tell stories, inspire, be grateful for other creators and respect their work and if what you do has a part of who you are in it then it will always be unique.

and just look at you! you created something with your own mind, the ideas came out of you and you put it on paper with whatever skill and experience you have at the moment and it will only become better with time and practice! you made it! cherish it!
