would you happen to know the lore behind this drawing? ie where it was originally put, i'd assume an image book ie FLCL Archives and not the manga?

any info about it would be greatly appreciated (i'm asking on behalf of a friend)

Its caption in the Archives states it was drawn by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto as a bonus poster included with Vol. 2 of the VHS/DVD in Japan! I'm not too sure about the isolated art of Mamimi though, it could be a fan edit or from somewhere else I'm not familiar with.

#ask #I've also seen it sold around as a poster separately so it probably got a few reprints #and as reference: according to the listing on the gainax pages each episode was sold separately as a dvd #so the second volume wouldn't have been 3-4 it would have been ep. 2 (which is the ep this illustration is themed around)
