((OOC: I start breathing more and heavily when I'm falling asleep. You couldn't have sleep apnea could you? When I'm scared, I forget to breathe and suddenly a big gasp comes up because I didn't know I was holding it.))

It's definitely possible. @canoftomatoes says I snore in my sleep, and my mom + grandmother also have sleep apnea. It could be the way I sleep and other habits, who knows. I don't typically hold my breath during anxiety (at least, not that I know of) but when I'm overtired or very sleepy I'll find myself suddenly sucking in a big breath because I just. Straight up stop breathing.

((OOC: I wish there were more Sarabi plushies, but I hate the Vitani one. Maybe Lion Guard Vitani had a tuft of hair, but it gave her a big ugly tuft of hair she never had. That was more Simba's thing. And the hair was much smaller looking.))

This line in particular is the bane of my existence as far as inaccuracies go and I couldn't agree more. In concept they're cute plushies, but you can't just make a random lion cub and claim it's one of the characters. Even Kovu looks wrong here, and Vitani is EXTREMELY off model. You cannot convince me that is a Vitani plush.

I do like Nuka's plush, but not because it looks like him (because it doesn't). I can appreciate it in way of, if having owned it, I would separate it into a different character entirely, as I did with Tabari. Disney plushes as a whole really are kind of hit or miss I guess, especially when it comes to Lion King. You either get really cute, or really cursed and inaccurate.

((OOC: Are you guys playing an alternate universe where Sarabi was captured by a circus and they changed her name?))

Yesss! Since I allow multiple of my muses to be in one thread, I thought it would propose an interesting concept of how Tod, Copper, and Sarabi might meet. I'm a sucker for these sort of "what if" scenarios. I figure she was captured as a young adult prior to having Simba + just when she was beginning to court Mufasa. Unfortunately, I also headcanon that she has been abused heavily into obedience.

"Lulu the lioness", as she was labeled, strode onto the scene with her head held high and tailtip twitching. Had she an ounce of fear, she did not show it. Copper watched in utter awe as the big beastly feline did as was expected of her, straining to stand tall and snap her powerful jaws at the ringmaster's stick.

"She's really big!" Copper exclaimed in agreement. "She looks like she could eat us in one bite!"

Gratefully, Tod chewed up the pieces Copper pushed towards him. “Thanks!” he mumbled through the food in his mouth.

The the fox kit’s ears lifted as a man with a megaphone began to speak in the arena before them, and he smiled brightly. “Hey, the show’s gonna start!”

“Welcome, one and all, to our circus!” the man shouted. “Please be sure to make yourselves comfortable- we’ve got quite a show planned for you this afternoon!”

Suddenly a few circus workers brought out a large lioness, with brown fur and yellow/orange eyes.

Totally enamored by this whole experience, Tod’s eyes went big, and his tail waved back and forth- sort of like a dog’s tail wagging. “Copper! Copper, I think that’s a lion!” he whispered, eyes glued to the lioness and ringmaster.

“Ladies and gentlemen, this is Lulu the Lioness!” the man introduced. “She’s going to perform a few tricks for us today!”

The crowd cheered, and, trotting forward, Tod reared up on his hind legs to press his front ones on the wooden guardrail, hoping to get an even better view of the lioness. She was so cool!!

“Golly… she’s big!” he said to Copper, grinning so widely his cheeks hurt.

The ringmaster held up a stick, which the lioness was supposed to stand on her hind legs and grab in her teeth.

“Watch, Copper!” Tod whispered again, shaking his friend’s shoulder with his paws.

Something in Scar's speech had tipped her off. A certain... Glint in his eye that she supposed held some sort of unrevealed truth.

She had seen Mufasa's body, but not Simba's. That was enough to send the grieving mother into a frenzy. She needed to see him, even if he had become a lifeless corpse for the buzzards to feed upon. She had to be sure.

The lioness's paws scrabbled to a stop some distance away, her heart pounding harshly in her chest with the effort of running to him, coupled with the exhilaration of it all.

It was her son. She knew that golden fur and scent anywhere. She had followed the trail leading away from the gorge, night and day, day and night, with desperation until her paw pads cracked open and bled.

"Simba—" She murmured as she approached more slowly to the hiding cub, knowing his fright and distress, but not fully understanding its cause. "You're alive? Come here — It's alright. Come here, baby. It's alright..."

Behold, the ONLY sarabi plush I have been able to find. @canoftomatoes and I looked. High and low. This is the only one we could find that was produced.

1. It's not dark enough to actually look much like her

2. WHY IS SHE SO IGNORED??? HELLO?? Even Nuka and Vitani, noted side characters in the second film, have more merchandise than Sarabi does. Granted, they have a lot more screen time, but you'd think that THE MOTHER OF THE MAIN CHARACTER, whom has a beautiful visage and nature, would be more sought after. I'm mad!! I'm not letting it go!! Where's my Sarabi merch??? Where is it??? Where is she??? My friend Sarabi you forgot my friend Sarabi!!!
