WEEKEND RECAP: TRIPLE HEADER OPENING WEEKEND
The 12th season of CWHL hockey got underway this weekend with all six teams in on the action. The Markham Thunder welcomed the Worcester Blades, the Toronto Furies battled the Shenzhen KRS Vanke Rays and Les Canadiennes de Montréal hosted the Calgary Inferno.
The Thunder picked up right where they left off after their Clarkson Cup-winning season, scoring a total of 10 goals against the Worcester Blades. It was a similar situation in Toronto where the Shenzen KRS Vanke Rays showed their dominance over the Furies by winning both games. In Montreal, it was a tighter battle, with the Inferno and Canadiennes splitting the weekend set; Montreal taking the opener, 2-1, and Calgary celebrating victory on Sunday, 3-1.
