The Japanese Planet of the Apes TV series, Saru no Gundan (aka Army of the Apes) is on Youtube with English subtitles.
I've seen Time of the Apes, which is the edited down 90 minute version but until now I've never been able to find the whole series with subtitles.
Looking forward to watching this soon.

More details about Freya Allan's character, Mae, has been revealed in Empire Magazine's full article covering Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes. The human companion of the leading chimp, Noa played by Owen Teague, she apparently harbors "a secret so important to the story that Allan can barely even describe the character".
Allan elaborated about the plot of the film as "a coming-of-age story. These character are having a rebirth of their perspective and outlook on the world. They've had these very confined views and now they're looking [at the world] through someone else's eyes - while at the same time realising they're the same, too. And that's very influential as to how they're going to look at their future, and the future of apes and mankind."

This seems to be setting up Noa and Mae similarly to Zira and Taylor in the original POTA films. Not to the extent that I think Mae is an astronaut from the missing spaceship mentioned in Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes (but I'm ready to be proved wrong); just that the two will learn about the past together. Noa is going to learn more about Caesar and his legacy; perhaps doing so with a human companion will reveal the history of apes and humans before the virus 300 years ago.

The full Empire Magazine article about Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes has dropped new images and world-building lore.

A new character was introduced: an ape named Koro, played by Neil Sandilands

Noa (Owen Teague) sharing the forehead touching gesture symbolising affection in ape society with Anaya (Travis Jeffrey)

Noa's tribe has built their homes in powerline towers left behind by humanity

Erik Winquist, VFX Supervisor, pointed out that fashions are different between ape tribes. Noa's community wears "woven adornments" while the apes led by Proximus Caesar sport "Romanesque armour made from the scavenged remains of human things"
Tumblr media
The idea of trained birds like the one seen with Noa in the poster and teaser trailer came from our own love of pets. Director Wes Ball said "That idea came from, 'Man domesticated dogs, so maybe [apes] domesticated eagles?' It was actually the first image I created for the movie. I could just put that up on the wall and say, 'There it is. There's the feel of our movie.'"
