Hillevi's remarks concerning her peers certainly struck a chord with the songster under the surface, unknowing birds of a feather they were, though there was no feigning his surprise at how openly she shared her disdain. Sure, she might not like the association, but the Black Eagles were still her classmates, right?

"Duly noted..." murmured an astonished Forwin, a little taken aback by her honesty but no less cognizant of her plight, though whether or not she would be let into Abyss would be for their own gatekeeper to decide. However, he couldn't help but ask: "Y-yet surely your classmates aren't all bad, though... are they?"

So he fumfers, albeit his memories of his once fellow nobles from Adrestia were few in number and fewer remembered, thanks to father dearest. Still, knowing just what to expect from his new-yet-familiar peers beyond what he was either told or could barely recollect would be ideal.

What was Emperor Hresvelg's only surviving heir like, and what of her appointed retainer of Vestra? Would he come to abhor Duke Aegir's son, just as Roland held great hatred toward Ludwig? Who else among the imperial households was a Black Eagle this year?

And, of course, there was the big question, now that avoiding them altogether was out of the question: how can he best ensure none sees through his ruse?

The less people that knew about her own past, the better it would have been for Hillevi to adjust to this new persona of hers. She was still testing the waters, experimenting with how she would present herself to others. Her demeanor would shift from an arrogant fighter who insisted on being more capable than she is to someone a bit more demure and agreeable, albeit not as much as her past. It was more her own nervousness that made it difficult to pick a face to show, to say the least, difficult to even pick a face to call her own.

Just what part of her did people prefer anyway?

But fortunately Forwin at least appeared to be someone completely new, another person for her to test on. If only she knew how mutual their own struggles were, perhaps their exchanges could be a bit less strategic and more genuine. But not now, not when things were still uncertain.

"Oh don't compare me to them, Forwin," Hillevi requested. "Or at least, don't lump me in with them. Noble birth I might be, but I hate to even be considered as one of them. If anything, I think the folks from below might be better company for me."

Second! A darker and more faded colour scheme, keeping in line with the other Ashen Wolves for their shared roots in Garreg Mach's underground! And then there's the sneaky little reference to his Crest like how Balthus and Constance's looks subtly refer to their own! See the feathers and the little clip holding them together? Hello Macuil! Such a galaxy-brained move on Ramyeon's part, I just can't-

Purple being a colour associated with royalty and nobility, and look at it just poking out with his cute and new little cravat! Not just a common bard here! No longer hiding Wyndell von Gerth! But not being in your face about his nobility like the humble little soul he is!

Plus purple referring to his time spent in Nohr with that colour scheme I'm-! LAYERS!!!

I never gave much thought to purple as part of Forwin's colour palette but fuck it it's here to stay-!!!

As for his old timeskip look? I'm not throwing it out outright, it'll simply be repurposed for his Echoes verse, given it's better fit for long distance travel!

Now to scrape some money so I can shower Ramyeon with it ASAP for a portrait and expressions commission

Interlocked fingers popped unto themselves while Forwin stretched out some of sleep's lingering vestiges from his neck for good measure, all while Hubert's albeit unintended intimidation flew over his head. Granted, the marquis' words did yield some reaction from the bard all the same, though no more than a pout and a low grumble at the pointed mention of his olden days in Gerth.

"Well, when you get by five years without sharing a room with the Sound-Sleeping King of Grappling... you get a little too used to waking up on your own before his snoring gifts you an early start to your day," shared the bard with no further qualms, though a rueful grin did remain from immediately recalling how he had woken up so early to begin with. "Which, frankly, amazes me, since he's actually one of the lighter sleepers among us Wolves..."

"...but when there's no sunlight down below, everyone and everything just runs on their own schedule anyway." Thank goodness for Hapi somehow being able to keep track of time without stepping out into the sun, or else Abyss would really lose all sense of temporal structure.

With sleep and norms being discussed, however, Forwin couldn't help but turn the focus of their discussion back onto Hubert, though not without a hint of concern to his tone.

"Given your role, I do wonder when was the last time you were even able to enjoy a full night's... Even indulging in a quick nap is out of the question for you, I'd imagine?"

Hubert hadn't expected anyone else to be awake at this time. The sun's rays had just barely cracked over the horizon, a sign that the emperor's retainer had spent yet another night without a wink of sleep. It was nothing out of the ordinary for him, he could just drink a cup of coffee and he would be on his way as if nothing was wrong. The bags under his eyes only got worse, but who was he to care?

And of all people it was Forwin. Had his time within the depths under the monastery interfered with his perception of time? Why else would he be awake?

"And is such a thing surprising to you, Forwin?" Hubert questioned his new companion with a remark with no hint of intended intimidation, but there was no telling if Forwin felt the same way or not. "I would have expected you to have known that this would be the norm for me, if any of your knowledge from your time as Wyndell retained within that skull of yours."

He motioned his hand towards the bard, however.

"And what of you? What brings you up this early?"

{ ooc } Right... this has been weighing heavily on the brain for a bit there, but part of me is wondering whether it's time I retire from the Bleach RPC on Tumblr. Bunny was of the same opinion just recently and is thinking of archiving her blog, and since the thought crossed her mind, it's honestly been something I've thought about a lot for myself as of late. I'm of the opinion that if it's not something I felt strongly about, I'd have let it go already, but... I'unno, here we are over a week in, I guess.

Case in point, it's gotten harder with time for me to keep Kōtarō and Shigeru's muses going, and these two were my flagship Bleach muses for as long as I can remember! Between reinventions and hiatuses—going as far back as high school and, of all things, deviantART—they were my longest-running OCs online and for quite some time, so naturally I'll always feel attached to them in some capacity. But lately though, it... kinda feels like they've run their course on here? There's no one reason for it, but there's certainly a few I can think about, including but not limited to the following...

I've already gotten to tell all the stories I could tell, and it doesn't feel like I'll get to expand on these that much further, or even tell new ones I've always wanted to for reasons I'm about to get into – which, ultimately, sucks monkey butt for me

Friends come and go, yes, but at least personally, I've seen more people leave than stick around even in spite of the anime's revival; plus, not everyone I actively wrote with is as active as they were (that's no one's fault, really - life's just like that, and I won't bemoan others for being busy or wanting to spread their wings elsewhere)

Something always seems to break out on the dash every couple of months or so, that ends up fracturing the community and splits my friend groups down further, which just sucks the joy out of writing on here all the more

As a result, that leaves only a select few (and I mean few) who're still keen on writing things at length with my boys, and making communication with other writers—even longtime mutuals—a bit more nerve-wracking to initiate

Thus, dwindling muses and waning interest in continuing to immerse myself in the Bleach RPC on Tumblr, which is outweighed by how much fun and easier it is for me to write on the Fire Emblem side of things, where I don't feel anywhere near this level of dread or hesitation

So... yeah, I don't know what this will mean for the immediate future. Maybe I wrote this out for a pity party or simply wanted to vent, or I'll make the Bleach boys request-only, or I remove them outright (with... no other recourse for them anywhere else, which, again, sucks) and commit to other RPCs... or I just take a break for myself and refresh/reboot asks and threads for Kō and Shigs, and then see what happens?
