This actually explains alot about Falins condition at the end of dungeon meshi. the fact that if the main soul is willing it can totally supress another soul within it.

But we know thats not the case with Falin who loves all creatures as much if not more than her brother

Falin cares for the dragons soul within herself like she would any animal she comes across. This is the kindness that caused Shuro to fall for her. The end result is the dragons soul being fostered by her main soul and Falin becomming a beastkin with feathered legs.

And later on in the extras chapter we see Falin has manifested more of the dragon in her appearance whether this is a design change by the author or the dragon soul is growing more within Falin or she can control how much of the dragon soul appears like lycion is another thing is up in the air.
