Just like how kalim embodies scarabia's mindfulness in his own way, how do you think other boys embodies their respective dorms spirit?
Tumblr media
For the sake of ease, I will be using the official TWST localization's terms for each dorm's core value.
Please note: these are my personal interpretations; even the definitions of each dorm’s “spirit” is not explicitly defined within official TWST materials, so I’ll be running with my own definitions before covering each NRC student.
***Main story spoilers (including late book 7) below the cut!!***
The Queen of Hearts' Spirit of Strictness
Literally speaking, strictness refers to following rules or beliefs exactly. There is rigid enforcement of these rules or beliefs, and very few, if any, exceptions or mercy granted.
Right off the bat, it’s easy to see how Riddle aligns with the spirit of strictness. He is the embodiment the law in Heartslabyul, serving as both judge and executioner to his students. Riddle insists that the rules—no matter how nonsensical—be followed, and he does not hesitate to unleash his wrath and collar those who step out of line. He is strictness itself. Beyond book 1, we do see Riddle trying to be more patient and flexible—however, the fact remains that he upholds rules and continues to have trouble with circumstances where he has to think independently or without a set of instructions to refer to.
Trey is known for frequently indulging others and behaving in a manner which some may call kind. The twist here is that Trey’s strictness is present in the “big brother” role he adopts when dealing with his peers. He’s generally more lenient than Riddle, but Trey often alludes to the fact that he shouldn’t be underestimated or thought of as a nice guy. There are moments when Trey gives others their comeuppance for misbehaving (such as in his dorm uniform vignettes, where he deprives first years of cake for complaining about his same-y baked goods). The thing is, most don’t see it coming because he’s typically so… nice. When he wants to be stern and put his foot down, he certainly can—it just isn’t something that happens a lot, since he’s more mild-mannered than his classmates.
Cater is strict with his public image, specifically how his peers view him. This is most obviously seen in his obsession with social media. He's constantly taking pictures and posting, being heavily involved on Magicam—a space where he can control the narrative about the type of person he is and the life he has. Cater keeps up this front in real life as well, acting cheery and sociable with his classmates while masking a far less motivated and sad side to his character. (This is implied in his Lab Wear vignettes, where a mandrake he infuses with his own magic becomes gloomy and huddles into itself.) There are occasions when Cater expresses that he is lonely or that he wishes he had more friends growing up, but he never fully opens up about his true nature. He strictly keeps that part of himself locked up tight and is seemingly afraid of what others would think of that persona.
Like Cater, Deuce is strict with himself. In Deuce's case, this arises from a past of delinquency and the desire to reform and to be an honors student that his mom can be proud of. Because of these goals, Deuce tries very hard to excel in class (but often falls short) and to behave in a way that he believes honors students would. This means changing the way he looks (he let his natural hair color come back in; it used to be bleached blonde), the way he speaks (not using foul language), the way he dresses, and, most importantly, the way he acts. Of course, his temper gets the best of him at times and his delinquent self bubbles back up (like in book 1 when the eggs were ruined), and Deuce is currently working on better repressing that.
Ace is probably the most carefree and the least stereotypically "strict" of the Heartslabyul group. Instead of having a focus on enforcing rules, Ace is usually the one breaking or defying them. How, then, does he embody the Queen of Hearts' spirit of strictness? I believe it comes through in some of Ace's most iconic scenes: the ones where he is calling others out on their bull crap. Time and time again, it's Ace that is bluntly telling others what they're doing or saying is hypocritical or wrong, or that they haven't truly taken accountability. He does this no matter who he is facing, be that his own dorm leader (book 1), an undead bride (Ghost Marriage), or Malleus Draconia himself (Endless Halloween Night). Ace has his own set of morals and beliefs, and he speaks them loud and clear without imposing as harshly as Riddle does.
The King of Beasts' Spirit of Persistence
Persistence is when one continues their course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition. In other words, there is an obstacle in the way of achieving a goal, and one persists in the face of that obstacle.
Leona is a somewhat strange case to make for persistence because initially he comes off as a very lazy character. We quickly learn that though he appears unmotivated, he’s comfortable scheming and thinking multiple steps ahead to cut out difficult or unnecessary work. There’s no doubt that Leona has had a challenging childhood, feeling like he was always being compared to his brother and never recognized for his own talents. We feel the effects of Leona losing this hope as late as book 6, when Leona says that Jamil is capable of change, unlike himself. Some fans even speculate that Leona’s dialogue implies he has fallen into depression as a result of frequently being dismissed and put down in spite of his efforts to be seen. Even when Leona is dealing with such trauma, he cooks up a plot to return his dorm to glory and to support its future. He, the lowly second born prince, wants to prove himself and his team of misfits, as being worthy of respect and admiration. When the plans fall through, Leona is quick to give up (which seems to go against the idea of Savanaclaw’s persistence). However, I would say this is part of his character growth in book 2. Later in the main story, Leona also throws in the towel quickly—but it doesn’t contradict his development; he knows when to strategically retreat in book 6.
Ruggie comes from an extremely impoverished background. He has had perhaps the least “cushy” life out of the entire NRC cast. Even so, Ruggie was able to study and work hard enough to earn decent grades, get multiple part-time jobs, and pick up many useful survival skills. He’s street smart and knows that what he lacks in strength he can make up for by sticking to someone who is strong (Leona). (Their relationship is mutually beneficial!!) Ruggie knows that just having money isn’t sustainable in the long run, so he’s hauling ass now to make something of not only himself, but also for all the people in the slums.
Jack embodies persistence through the events of book 2. At first, Jack tries to get Leona to see reason by letting him know that he genuinely is a figure Jack admires. He’s put in a moral dilemma when Leona argues that even if they play dirty, he has good intentions. If Jack interferes, he is messing with the future job prospects of his dorm members. Jack wrestles with the question before ultimately coming to the conclusion that he has to tell others about it—and, what’s more, put his own pride as a lone wolf aside to confront Leona and stop to his machinations.
The Sea Witch's Spirit of Benevolence
Benevolence may refer to meaning well or general kindness and compassion. It involves a willingness to help others and caring for them.
Azul, being at the head of the operations at Octavinelle, passes himself off as a benevolent man who will listen to your woes and grant your wishes. In fact, he does—but at a price. The shady ring he’s running is NOT wholly benevolent; the deals can definitely come across as malevolent in book 3 (when Azul wrote the contracts in such a way that the loopholes could fuck clients over). The deals themselves (assuming no foul play), however, are neutral since both parties agree to the terms. Contracts are written with the idea that they will benefit the clients. And Azul is, of course, also seeking out benefits for himself, as that is the nature of business dealings.
Jade represents a kind of benevolence associated with acts of service. He’s Azul’s right-hand man and information broker—furthermore, much of how Jade presents himself alludes to being a butler or some other supportive role. Jade just generally behaves in a way which benefits others. He acts demure and servile, then uses the trust he has gained through service to ply what he wants out of others. Jade does it so sweetly and so expertly that his prey don’t usually notice, or willfully overlook it, being far too impressed by his abilities to fixate on his ulterior motives. This strategy works even on notoriously stern individuals such as Vil (Jade Dorm Uniform vignettes).
Floyd gives “free hugs” :) is… well, ironically, the “kindest” of the trio in a weird way. While this is highly dependent on his mood, the fact of the matter is that Floyd is the easiest to read in terms of “telegraphing” his actions. If he’s in a bad mood, he usually will not hide it. You know what you’re signing up for as soon as you see him. He also typically doesn’t put forth an effort to manipulate or to scheme like Azul or Jade would; Floyd would prefer to be direct and get it over with already. That, in a sense, is the mercy that he offers: something swift and plain to see.
The Sorcerer of the Sands' Spirit of Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a state of being aware of oneself and the present moment. A mindful individual can aknowledge and accept one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. Mindfulness may also extend to being aware of others and perceiving their own states of being.
Kalim is not viewed as the most intelligent or crafty of leaders, but where he shines is in his ability to welcome and to bond with his dorm mates. His emotional intelligence is extremely high, which proves itself to be a useful skill in getting to know others and to earn their trust. Kalim has made a name for himself in Scarabia because he is always there to listen and lend a helping hand to his dormmates. He is unabashedly open about his own emotions too, crying when he is sad and trying hard when he is frustrated or dissatisfied. He often asks to know what is wrong when he senses upset within his classmates and wants to do what he can to rectify those situations. This is peak mindfulness--not only is Kalim acutely aware of his own emotional state, but he's also pretty consistent with sensing those in others (the one big exception here, of course, is Jamil). Sometimes Kalim can be blindsided by his own blind faith in others or his overeagerness causing him to blurt things out unintentionally. He's definitely not perfect in this regard--however, there's plenty of room and willingness to grow and to learn (something which Kalim has expressed both in book 5 and in birthday vignettes).
Jamil more readily fits in with a less savory interpretation of mindfulness. He thinks ahead and uses what he knows of others to manipulate them as he pleases. This notably occurs in book 4 (when Jamil plans to use the feedback of Yuu and the Scarabia members to dethrone Kalim), as well as in events (like Beans Day, where he plans to entrap Kalim when Kalim cooks a fragrant lunch that Jamil purposefully packed for him). Jamil’s fault is that he fails to recognize people’s strengths (something which Leona calls him out for in book 6), and instead focuses solely on their weaknesses and how they can be exploited.
The Beautiful Queen's Spirit of Tenacity
Simply put, tenacity is determination and endurance. One is persistent in maintaining, adhering to, or seeking something valued or desired. Each of the members of Pomefiore knows what they want, and they are stubborn in their pursuit of it.
Vil makes it clear in book 5 that he wants to win VDC/SDC, thereby proving to himself and to the world that he is capable of more than playing the part of a “villain”. He already had high standards for himself prior to book 5 (exercising, doing skincare, maintaining a healthy diet, etc.), but you can see how single minded Vil is toward this one goal. He drives his team members hard and even cancels a major job offer from his manager so he can dedicate all his time and energy into seizing the win. And how many times has Vil lost in the past??? Countless, I bet. Yet here he is, trying again and again, even when he knows that happy endings aren’t guaranteed and his efforts may not bear fruit after all.
Rook pursues any and all things beautiful!! He used to just be content admiring beauty, but with Vil’s prompting, Rook soon also found value in beautifying himself. It means Rook can also put beauty out into the world, and helps him better appreciate other works of art. This man is infamous around campus for his… admittedly creepy and unnerving habits. He follows people around, documents them in photographs, memorizes their personal details, etc. His keen eye has also earned him praise though—Vil can comfortably rely on him for honest feedback, and Neige recognizes him as a deficated member of his fan club. Rook is nothing if not determined and dedicated to his craft.
Epel is tenacious too, but in a way that Vil would not approve of in all circumstances. Epel is stubborn in his thinking and refuses to let go of his hometown roots. He’s very proud of where he comes from, so he puts up a fight with Vil when Vil demands that Epel address his upperclassmen more politely. Epel sees the command as a threat to himself, and a challenge to the hometown he loves. Additionally, it takes Epel a while to reevaluate his deeply ingrained views on gender norms. He’s all-around very strong/headed!
The King of the Underworld's Spirit of Diligence
Diligence is when one is involved in careful and persistent work or effort. This principle generally governs all of STYX, the blot research organization operated by the Shroud family. Their job is a thankless one—they do such important work, yet it isn’t recognized by the general public due to STYX’s secretive nature.
Idia, as the temporary acting director of STYX in book 6, gets involved in their research. There’s many Phantoms kept in the STYX facility, so there are many safety precautions in place and care taken to ensure no one is harmed. (Ironically, it was Idia’s lack of diligence that led to Ortho’s passing.) Outside of book 6, one can say that Idia has a diligent personality, at least when it comes to his hyperfixations. He becomes dedicated to media that captures his interests to the point where it actually incentivizes him to leave his room (Ghost Marriage) and overcome his meek stutter to speak confidently and lecture people (first Halloween event, his Dorm Uniform vignettes, etc.).
I believe Ortho is diligent in being Idia’s emotional support both before and after Ortho is officially recognized as a separate student. He cheers Idia on and encourages him to touch grass socialize, wishing nothing but the best for his big brother! Ortho wasn’t always like this either; he used to be quite stiff and monotone, and had to learn how to emulate emotions by carefully observing and absorbing media. His motivation in book 6 is also fueled by diligence—Ortho worries about what he can do to support Idia’s wishes, and this is ultimately what drives him to taking over STYX and unleashing the Phantoms. Then, in Fairy Gala: What If, Ortho stubbornly tries to come up with his own ideas regarding the theme of evolution rather than rely on others for answers. He works hard to developing his own concept and is able to put on a show-stopping performance with it!
The Thorn Fairy's Spirit of Nobility
To be noble can refer to strength of character, mind, and/or literal position, birth, rank, or social status. No matter which definition you go with, I think they could all apply to the members of Diasomnia.
Regarding noble status, Malleus and Silver are both princes. Lilia and Sebek may not be nobles themselves, but they (in addition to Silver) serve royalty and have close personal connections to people in high places, be it via friends or via family. Diasomnia is very well-connected.
Beyond superficial nobility, one can say that those in Diasomnia are noble in character as well. To begin with, Lilia has sacrificed himself for his country on multiple occasions. This isn’t limited to going to battle, but also ferrying his princess’s egg to safety, traveling the world for knowledge on dragon eggs, and going so far as to give up his own life force to hatch Malleus. And what does Lilia get for all of this? Banished from the capital, screamed at, shunned—all because he is a nobody, a bat of no status. Despite this, Lilia does not become bitter nor hateful, he instead opens his heart and mind to the world and seeks to instill others with the same wisdom. Through all the tragedies he suffered, Lilia rose stronger than ever rather than sinking to the same levels as the narrow minded senators that rebuked him.
Silver is, perhaps, the most overtly noble in character. He extols the virtues of listening and getting along with others, often serving as the peacemaker between parties (typically between Sebek and their peers, but we’ve also seen Silver smoothing things out between all of NRC and diurnal fae). He also assumes the best of others and is ready to leap into action to protect them at a moment’s notice. His kind and gentle nature attracts many forest animals to him, who can likely sense the purity of Silver’s heart.
Sebek’s brand of nobility isn’t geared at others in general but rather is pinpointed on one person (that being Malleus). He is noble in the sense that he dedicates himself to his prince. It’s no secret that practically everything Sebek does is to “live up” to perceived standards so as to not shame Malleus or the Draconia royal family—from doing well academically to dressing neatly and throwing himself into training… Sebek’s passion and eagerness is what makes him stand out. It could also be said that he fiercely defends his friends and those who have earned his respect (albeit maybe not worded in the most tactful ways). That, too, in a sense, is honorable.
Finally, we have Malleus. What can be said about him that hasn’t already been said? He is the prince of a nation, so there are many people looking to him for leadership. As such, Malleus must always conduct himself in a manner that puts his country’s best face forward and expects the same of others. Indeed, he reprimands Sebek for behaving in poor taste and instructs him to apologize to Leona, the prince of another nation. However, what is most telling about Malleus is his impetus for Overblotting. He deludes himself into thinking “this is what is best for everyone”. In his mind, he frames forcing everyone into dream states so they can stay forever and have their happily ever afters as the “good” and “noble” thing to do. He’s definitely not doing this for himself, he argues, it’s a gift for everyone. And throughout book 7, Malleus tries to gaslight others into this belief too 💀 when bro’s already convinced himself of this and refuses to see otherwise—

Hey hey Miss Raven!!!!
I would say that my main request is Cheka touring around each dorm with Leona (Ojii-tan) for a weekend! How would Riddle react to seeing the little lion prince? Would Azul try to bribe him into some sort of business but not realize 5 year olds aren't the best targets? Would Lillia steal him because of Papa instincts? Would Cheka be kinda intimidated by Rook or know no fear, even as his Uncle gets very uncomfortable? Does he try to play with Idia and Ortho's hair? Does Jamil have to keep two sunshine rich boys on a leash?
(You don't have to do full on paragraphs unless you want to! Bullets are perfectly fine)
This gets super long (especially for the dorms that have many members), so I placed the rest below the cut! Please enjoy Cheka and Uncle Leona's shenanigans~
Curiouser and Curiouser...
Tumblr media
"Oji-tan!" Cheka cried out, tugging on his uncle's leather jacket. His wide eyes were set with the glint of mischief and curiosity. "I wanna see more of your school!!"
"... What?" Leona scowled down at his nephew. "You must be joking."
"Nuh-uh!" The lion cub vigorously shook his head. "I really wanna see! Pretty please, Oji-tan?”
“No. Why do you even want to snoop around, anyway? It does you no good.”
“Well, cuz... I might go here one day! I wanna know what this place is all about, in case it’ll be my territory!”
“Hmph. That’s wishful thinking. Your old man’s definitely signing you up for his prissy alma mater.”
“You never know. One day, I might be king of Savanaclaw, just like you...! So can I see the other dorms? Please, please, please? I promise I’ll be super, duper good! Like, on my best behavior good!”
He snorted. “The answer’s not changing, furball. It’s already enough of a hassle to babysit you when you’re stuck in one place. I’m not taking you on a walk, too.”
“Awww!” Cheka crossed his arms and pouted, his tiny ears flattening. “That’s no fun.”
“You’re not here to have fun.” You’re here to annoy me, he thought. “Be thankful I’m even giving you my time at all.”
Cheka puffed up his cheeks in a pout. “Then, then...!! If Oji-tan doesn’t have the time to show me around... Can I go by myself?”
Leona drew back, a little alarmed by the boy’s bold declaration, and the fire burning in his face. The rebound came just as fast though, quirking his lips up into a sly curve. “... Sure. Knock yourself out, kid.”
“Okay! I’ll go and do that!” Cheka turned and bolted off immediately, his little tail trailing behind him.
"O-Oi, wait...!! Cheka...!! I wasn’t being serious. You can’t just run off on your own...!! Get back here right now, you little... Tch. He’s already gone, huh?” He ran a hand through his mane of chocolate hair. “Damn it. I’d better follow the furball before he gets himself killed.”
Tumblr media
Heartslabyul is in the middle of an Unbirthday party when Cheka crashes it (followed by Leona). Riddle nearly spits up his lemon tea at the disruption.
Trey puts himself between the lion beastmen and a seething Riddle, crouching onto his knees to address Cheka (who calls Trey the “jolly green giant”). After some negotiations, Trey takes Cheka by the hand and pulls up two extra chairs to seat him and Leona.
At this point, Riddle has calmed down considerably and invites his fellow Dorm Leader and Cheka to join them. Big mistake, because neither of the Kingscholars follow any formal tea party protocols.
Leona sits slovenly in his seat and just tears into whatever’s served to him, and Cheka’s making funny shapes with his napkin and talking with his mouth full. Riddle grits his teeth and does his best to keep from lecturing them for their terrible table manners. (He comes close to blowing up when Cheka mentions how fast he’s been growing, and Leona comments that Cheka will soon be taller than “the red young master”.)
Trey does his best to relieve the tension by offering more tea, cake, scones, or sandwiches whenever their guests’ cups or plates run low. He reminds Cheka to brush his teeth thoroughly after eating this many sweets... but when Cheka mentions he doesn’t floss, Trey looks like he’s going to pass out.
Cater loves having unexpected guests at Unbirthday parties! It really livens things up. He keeps pestering Cheka to take a selfie with him (cuz imagine the mad clout he’d get if he posted a pic with a prince!), but Leona glares at him to make him back off.
While the lion cub has his mouth stuffed with pastries, he leans over in his seat to look at Cater’s photo albums and Magicam page. Cheka and Cater have a lot of fun chatting about the fun things they’ve seen or done, and Cheka promises to give Cater a follow! (”Hehe, score 1 for Cay-kun!”)
Ace keeps snickering every time Cheka calls Leona “Ojitan” and takes every possible opportunity to do a funny voice mocking the Savanaclaw Dorm Leader (which earns him glares from Leona).
He actually gets along really well with Cheka, managing to keep him entertained with sleights of hand and various card tricks. Cheka’s super impressed when Ace can correctly identify the card he picked at random, and demands that he do the same tricks over and over. (Ace gets worn out by the end of the party after so much repetition.)
Deuce gets along with Cheka pretty well, too! They mainly talk about their love of “cool” things and how they want to improve themselves in the future. It’s actually pretty inspirational listening to them talk about their dreams and aspirations!
Everyone takes it easy on Cheka when they play croquet, thereby easily letting him snag the victory.
Deuce and Cheka share a fist bump and wish each other luck before he and his uncle leave the party. The next time they meet, they swear that they’ll be even better men than they were before!
Tumblr media
Cheka and Leona circle back to Savanaclaw to see what it has to offer! When they arrive, they catch Ruggie returning from one of his part-time jobs. As soon as the hyena spots the little prince, his eyes light up (the “dollar signs in the eyes” look, as Leona calls it) and he shies over with a lazy grin.
Ruggie totally kisses up to Cheka, and cracks a lot of jokes to get him to smile. He’s hoping the little guy might fork over some madol, or maybe some royal favor... but instead of either of those, Cheka just laughs and gives Ruggie a pat on the head!
“... Geez, you can’t sell head pats,” Ruggie grumbles, gently swatting his hand away. “Well, whatever. It was worth a shot, I guess.”
Leona tells Ruggie that he should give Cheka a tour of the dorm, but the hyena refuses unless Leona agrees to pay him for his services. Midargument, Jack returns from a jog and, overhearing their discussion, offers himself up to be helpful to his upperclassmen!
Just as Leona’s about to hand Cheka over to Jack, Cheka clings to Leona and demands that his uncle tag along, too (b-but not because he’s scared of Jacks’ face or anything like that!)! Ruggie snickers and tells them to have fun before leaving for his next shift.
Jack shows a great amount of respect to Cheka, even though the cub is much younger and smaller. After all, Cheka’s related to his Dorm Leader, and he’s a prince! Jack spends the entire tour calling Cheka the “little boss” and doting on his every word!
The wolf does a decent job at showing off Savanaclaw’s facilities, though he’s a bit stiff about it. They make several pitstops to help sate Cheka’s curiosity--he jumps up and down on the bridges, stares through wide windows, climbs rocks, and races around in open areas.
At some point, Leona tries to sneak off to crash in his bedroom, but Jack stops him with a lecture on “responsibility” and “setting a good example for the youth”. Leona just rolls his eyes and decides to keep tagging along, if only to keep Jack from preaching more.
The indoor waterfall pool is what impresses Cheka the most. In fact, he just dives right in to cool off when he sees it! Jack and Leona get drenched from the splash--and while Jack just sighs, Leona becomes irritated and dives in right after his nephew!
Leona and Cheka wrestle around in the water for a bit, with Leona ultimately coming out on top. He fishes the wet lion cub out of the water and rushes him a towel and a change of clothes. Where they’re going next, they won’t need the extra moisture.
Tumblr media
After expending all that energy running around, Cheka’s hungry again--so what better place to check in for a meal than the infamous Mostro Lounge? Leona begrudgingly brings his nephew there, but it takes all his willpower to not pick a fight with the smug-faced twins or their octopunk of a boss.
Jade politely welcomes Leona and Cheka to the restaurant, and while Leona remains defensive, Cheka falls for Jade’s “nice guy” act. The young prince even shakes hands with him. (”Oya, I am honored by your kindness, Cheka-san. It seems you do not take after your uncle.”)
They’re seated at a prime booth, and Floyd comes to take their orders. Upon spotting a fishie he’s never seen before, Floyd proceeds to completely ignore Leona in lieu of amusing himself with Cheka.
The eel basically only talks to Cheka and keeps going off track while they’re ordering. Like, Leona’s in the middle of saying what he wants, and Floyd will dismiss it, then ask some kind of silly, unrelated question, like if Cheka has any stupid stories about his uncle--
After much longer than was necessary, Floyd jots their order down and dashes off to the kitchen to deliver it. While they’re waiting for their food, Cheka kneels in his seat and watches all the marine life drifting by through the giant glass wall behind them. Leona dozes off for a nap.
Jade swings by to check on them and offers complimentary water, freshly baked bread, and butter, which Cheka happily accepts! He coats a roll in butter and chows down on it, which Jade remarks as being “cute”. (”Fufu. Now if only Leona-san could be as adorable as you, little one.”)
Cheka speaks up, pointing out that his uncle is cute. (”... Oh?” Jade asks, feigning ignorance.) Cheka spills a few embarrassingly cute things about Leona--like how he jumps away and hisses at cucumbers! Jade chuckles and acts surprised, but... he has definitely tucked away those tidbits for future blackmail.
That’s when Floyd shows up, slamming down a tray of food for the table. Leona snaps away from his nap, and, upon seeing both twins leering down at him, roars for them to leave him and Cheka alone.
At the end of their meal, who should show up but Azul himself, bearing a smug smile. “Aaah, Leona-san! I’m flattered that you would grace the Mostro Lounge with your patronage. And this little gentleman here must be the young prince of the Afterglow Savannah.”
“Fuck off, octopunk.” (“Language! You’re in front of a child.”)
Cheka obliviously keeps slurping his (slimy, yet satisfying) noodles up. The two argue back and forth for a bit... then Azul drops a bombshell on them: the entire meal is free (and look, he’ll throw in this neat free toy with their food). Cheka’s happy, but Leona is very suspicious. He refuses to let Cheka take the toy, and slaps down a wad of madol anyway.
“Trying to get free publicity from the royal family through a kid? Why don’t you take your fishy lips and go kiss someone else’s ass?” Leona challenges, tugging on his nephew to get him to stand. “Oi, come on. We’re leaving--before the seafood starts to smell even more.”
Tumblr media
A little bit into their Scarabia excursion, Cheka ends up on Leona’s back. The heat has him all tuckered out, so he needs to rely on his uncle to carry him to the dorm!
Kalim quickly ushers his guests inside and calls for Jamil to prepare drinks, snacks, and fans (much to Jamil’s dismay). He offers a sea of soft rugs and plush cushions for the beastmen to lounge on, which Cheka just loves. The cub squishes his face into a pillow that’s just about the same size as he is!
Jamil pops out of the kitchen with the things Kalim requested and sets them down on a table. He steps back, and catches Leona’s gaze. Both of them look dead inside and share a nod--a silent agreement that they are both waaay too tired to deal with the balls of energy that are Kalim and Cheka. (Child leash, Jamil mouths his suggestion.)
Even though he ate lunch not too long ago, Cheka’s already sampling more grapes, cheeses, and crackers! As soon as he finishes eating something, Kalim’s eager to shove more things at him to try, or offer another cup of (super sugary) tea! (... Honestly, it’s like two hyperactive kids on a playdate while their exhausted parents watch them.)
After snacking, Kalim takes Cheka to explore the bejeweled halls of his dorm, with Jamil and Leona trailing behind. They spend a long time in the menagerie--a large room where Kalim houses his animals! Cheka goes around petting each fuzzy, furry, or feathered friend!
In the treasure storage room, Kalim lets Cheka dive into piles of gold and gems, swimming around like a rich duck in a pool of money. While Cheka’s splashing in gold, he accidentally steps on the magic carpet, which nips at his toes!
The kid is fascinated by the sentient carpet, so Kalim offers to give him a ride. Leona tiredly agrees, and they all hop aboard (because as much as Leona and Jamil dislike it, they can’t trust Kalim and Cheka on their own).
The ride is absolutely magical for Cheka, but a nightmare for Leona. Cheka keeps leaning off the side of the carpet to look down below (”Ooh, there’s an oasis down there!!), or reaching up to try and grasp a cloud, only for it to vanish into water vapor. He comes close to falling off so many times, it almost gives Leona a heart attack!!
After one nerve-wrecking round trip, Kalim deposits the beastman duo on the ground. He thanks them for coming by, then invites them to show up again for the banquet he’s throwing this weekend. Jamil cuts in before the situation worsens. “I think it would be best not to trouble them any further, Kalim. They must be very busy.”
Leona silently thanks the Great Seven for being spared from attending one of Kalim’s annoying parties. As they’re leaving, Cheka lets Kalim know he thinks he was a great host, and that just beings a huge smile to Kalim’s face—but a collective groan from Jamil and Leona.
Tumblr media
Leona’s been dreading the visit to Pomefiore all day. As soon as he and Cheka step into Vil’s proverbial kingdom, they’re tackled by a certain huntsman. “Ah, Roi du Léon...!” Rook cries, Leona caught in his vicegrip, “Have you come to pay a visit to Roi du Poison! He shall surely be honored by your presence!” (He won’t.) (”Tch...! Rook, you bastard! Let go of me!!”)
Rook takes notice of Cheka, and, delighted at the thought of observing a lion cub, drops Leona and seizes Cheka instead. To Leona’s shock, Cheka just... stands there and blinks up at Rook fearlessly. “You’re kinda weird, mister!!” (”Hohoh! So the petit lionceau has a bite. Fascinating!!”)
The huntsman circles Cheka, poking and prodding him (which makes the kid laugh) and asking questions that any normal person would consider invasive. (But Rook isn’t exactly normal.) Leona growls and warns Cheka to stay back, but Rook has zero fear or shame and continues to bombard them with questions, grabbing their ears and tails--
“Rook. What are you doing? That is not how we treat our visitors.”
Rook suddenly steps back and dips into a kneel--and, to Leona’s dismay, Vil emerges with Epel in tow. “Fufu. You have returned from your afternoon stroll, mon roi.”
Vil waves a hand, dismissing Rook. “I must apologize for that man’s idiocy. I assure you that it does not reflect on Pomefiore as a whole.” Cheka doesn’t quite get it, but he’s mesmerized by Vil’s beauty and compliments him!
The actor takes an interest in Cheka and decides to dress him up against Leona’s protests. Vil throws an entire closet’s worth of clothes and accessories at Cheka, even giving him a little dusting of powder to enhance his appearance. Cheka doesn’t seem to mind, and actually has fun parading around in different outfits.
Leona grunts, completely bored out of his skull, as Vil claps and tells Cheka to twirl to show off the full range of his clothes. The queen beams proudly, but it turns bitter when he addresses Leona. “How can such a sweet, talented boy be related to a brute such as yourself?” (”Oi, don’t go insulting Epel now,” Leona says sarcastically. Epel chortles, but Vil isn’t amused.)
Leona and Vil bicker for a little, as per usual, and Cheka finds himself staring from behind his uncle’s leg at the young man that lingers behind Vil. Epel awkwardly waves, unsure of what else to do or to say... and Cheka makes a funny face back! Epel frowns, but makes a funny face of his own in return!
That starts a little showdown between the two, but it’s cut off when Vil takes notice and scolds Epel for acting out of turn! He pinches his ear and tells him off for misbehaving. As punishment, it now falls to Epel to escort Leona and Cheka around Pomefiore!
Epel takes on the role of tour guide (begrudgingly). He power walks ahead of the beastmen, rushing through grand ballrooms and manicured lines while parroting lines about Pomefiore’s rich history. Epel glosses over a lot of stuff to get through it as soon as possible, then shoos Leona and Cheka away!
(... Rook was stalking them the entire time with his camera in hand. He’d soon have more photographs to add to his secret stash.)
Tumblr media
Ortho greets the duo when they step into Ignihyde’s cold, sterile hallways. Cheka’s hesitant about approaching Ortho at first--they seem to be about the same age, but why’s his robot all shiny, and his hair on fire? After seeing how friendly Ortho is, he gets over his initial fear and excitedly talks with the robot boy!
Because of how empty Ignihyde’s corridors tend to be, the kids’ bubbly voices echo and carry throughout the whole building. They get into a heated discussion about how great their uncle and big brother are, becoming increasingly loud and animated. (Leona groans and covers his ears.)
Curious as he is, Cheka sticks his hand in Ortho’s hair, and is shocked to find that it doesn’t burn him! “Are you surprised, Cheka Kingscholar-san? My ‘hair’ is actually an artificial flame projected by a magic of fire and light attributes. Nii-san invented it himself! Isn’t that so cool?” (”Wow, that’s amazing!”)
Ortho lets Cheka practice roaring at him! Using his audio-recording, playback, and analysis software, Ortho can play Cheka’s roar back, measure how loud it is, and provide feedback on how Cheka can work on it!
The robot boy excitedly introduces Cheka to his brother (who speaks to them only through the door of his bedroom). Idia gives haughty and dismissive responses until it becomes clear to him that Cheka just will not stop talking. He goes quiet and lets Cheka take control of the conversation, but it seems like there’s no end in sight.
At last, the door opens a bit and Idia’s golden eyes peer out from the darkness. A pale hand extends out and drops a few pieces of candy into Cheka’s hands. “P-Please just g-go away now... L-Let me go back to my games...” (Typical White Radish Sprout.)
The door is slammed in the lion cub’s face, sentencing him and Leona to the shadow realm. Ortho says sorry in place of Idia, but Cheka reassures him that it’s fine, because his uncle gets grumpy sometimes, too! (”I’m right here, furball. I can hear everything you’re saying.”)
Ortho sees Leona and Cheka off at the mirror portal. As the children say their farewells, they’re sure to make a promise to build a snowman together when they meet next.
Tumblr media
By the time Leona and Cheka make it to Diasomnia, night has fallen, and the moon and stars are already up. Leona loudly knocks on the castle doors, eager to get this over with. He can already hear the bed calling his name.
Lilia answers, and when he sees Cheka, he enthusiastically ushers him and Leona inside. “You’re just in time for dinner. I’m sure Malleus won’t mind a few surprise guests.” (At the mention of the overgrown lizard’s name, Leona can feel his fur and skin crawl.)
Lilia drags the beastmen into Diasomnia’s dining room, where Silver, Sebek, and Malleus are already seated. Malleus and Silver look surprised, but remain relatively calm, when they see Leona and Cheka. Sebek, on the other hand, snaps the head off his spoon.
The first year slams down his broken silverware, stands up from his seat, and, pointing an accusing finger at Leona, demands to know why and how he has infiltrated the young master’s domain.
Sebek’s shouting startles Cheka, and he, despite trembling in fear, stands up for his uncle and attempts to roar back to intimidate the knight. This, for whatever reason, actually impresses Sebek. He praises Cheka for having a backbone, and salutes him as a budding young man, but continues to remain on the defensive about Leona.
“Calm yourself, Sebek. They are my guests for the evening. How could you turn down such an adorable little tot and his guardian?” Lilia tuts, taking his place beside Malleus. “I trust that no one has any objections?”
Silver remains silent. Malleus looks like he wants to say something, but he bites his tongue. “... None. Kingscholar and... Miniature Kingscholar, you may be seated.”
With the wave of his hand, the prince summons silverware for Leona and Cheka. (”Show-off,” Leona grumbles under his breath. Malleus definitely hears that, but, again, holds back from making a passive aggressive remark. A nobleman must have poise, dignity--)
The tension in the room is so thick, you could cut it with a knife. Pretty much only Lilia and Cheka are making efforts to make conversation. Sebek is glaring at Leona, Leona is glaring at Malleus, Malleus is just trying to focus on his own meal, and Silver... Well, Silver is almost falling asleep in his bowl of soup.
“Such a rambunctious child. Clever, too,” Lilia remarks with a swig of his tomato juice. “I would be cautious if I were you, Leona. I may very well kidnap Cheka and raise him as my own if you aren’t!”
Silence. Then someone coughs.
“Come now, it was just a joke! Laugh!” (Lilia laughs at his own joke, and Cheka giggles along with him, but no one else does.)
Dinner passes by awkwardly. Lilia clears off the table and waves everyone else off, insisting that they go socialize in the common room lounge. Sebek grabs a book and parks himself on a couch, while Silver sits at the other end of it with a cup of after-dinner coffee. Leona claims another couch to himself and knocks right out.
Malleus excuses himself for a night time stroll, only to feel a tug on his sleeve. When he looks down, he finds Cheka clinging to him. “Can I come too, Lizard Nii-san?” (... Kingscholar must have taught him that.)
“Very well, if that is what you wish.”
Together, they plunge into the moonlit night. They don’t venture too far from Diasomnia--only as far as its bramble extends, but just far enough for Cheka to get a taste of the dark, twisted world. Diasomnia’s twisted flora casts scary shadows across the land, causing him to cling harder onto Malleus’s hand.
“... So, miniature Kingscholar. Am I to believe that you are the future king of the Afterglow Savannah? If so, that is quite a weight on your shoulders.”
“Yup!” Cheka smiles up at Malleus. “My dad says that, one day, everything the light touches will be mine! I can’t wait to be king, so I can do lots of good things for everyone. My friends, my family... especially Oji-tan!”
“... And why is that, if I may ask? This fixation on your... Oji-tan.”
Cheka hesitates--staring into the shadows. “... Oji-tan seems sad and angry sometimes. He doesn’t say it, and he doesn’t tell me, but it’s just the feeling I get!”
Malleus nods. He understands the sentiment, just based on his own personal interactions with Leona. Envious, competitive, seeking to prove himself. Petty, but in a pitiful way. Never enough.
“A king’s gotta make all his people happy! Oji-tan counts as a person, too. He...” A yawn. “He deserves... to be... hap... py...”
“Oh dear. You seem to be tired, little one.” Malleus leans the child up against him, giving him a place to rest. “... Sleep now. I will see to it that you and your uncle are safely returned to bed.”
Cheka’s eyes slowly drift shut.
With the smallest bit of his magic, Malleus brings himself and the child back to Diasomnia. He whisks Cheka up in his arms and carries him to the lounge, where Leona is still snoozing.
“How was the walk?” Lilia asks.
Malleus sweeps by his Vice Dorm Leader, carefully depositing Cheka atop of Leona. The lion beastman unconsciously shifts in his sleep, his arms moving to wrap around his nephew. Malleus smiles to himself and steps back. “... It was a wonderful walk.”
Leona and Cheka would wake up the next morning to find themselves back in Savanaclaw. Both of them would wonder if that dorm tour trip was just a dream or not--but neither of them would know the truth for sure.

Good Afternoon~ may i ask hcs for Scarabia boys finding shy & timid mc dancing with the magic carpet happily (imagining the magic carpet is Scarabia boys) and they dance with her (you know the sleeping beauty ref where she dances with the animals and prince Phillip just slides in to dance with her in animals’ place :^) ) They ask her if she can be their dance partner for the upcoming ball in their country. Thank you and take care~
Curiouser and Curiouser...
Tumblr media
Kalim Al-Asim...
...is ecstatic to see Yuu dancing with the magic carpet. It’s just so cute!
Immediately calls out to her and tries cutting in to steal a dance.
She lets out a surprised yelp at his sudden appearance, but Kalim is such a natural when it comes to dancing that he already has her hands and is leading her around the room.
Kalim’s dance is quick and erratic, with many turns, twirls, and other spontaneous moves. It gets Yuu excited--and they both collapse onto the floor in peals of laughter when they are done.
“You’re great at dancing! How come you’ve never told me?” he asks through curious eyes.
When Yuu tells him she was pretending the magic carpet was him (since she is too shy to dance in front of him), Kalim just laughs and tells her she doesn’t need to worry. Dancing means you can let loose an be whoever you want to be!
“You can make up a style right on the spot and call it entirely your own! There are no rules--you just gotta follow your heart!”
Hearing this makes Yuu feel a lot better about herself, and she mumbles a quiet thank you to Kalim. He makes these things seem so simple!
“Well! As long as you got it, that’s good!” Kalim’s eyes light up. “Oh! That reminds me, my family’s going to be hosting this big party back home. Everyone’s allowed to bring a guest with them--and I think you should be my plus one for the night! What do you say?”
Jamil Viper...
...is mildly amused.
He hides in the shadow of a pillar and observes quietly, waiting to see how long it takes Yuu to notice him standing there.
It takes a while--and she’s so startled when she does spot Jamil that she trips over her own feet!
He helps her back up, shooing the magic carpet away. Jamil comments, “What a show you put on,” much to Yuu’s embarrassment!
She pleads for him to forget that he saw that, but Jamil refuses. Why should you hide your talent, he asks. Is she ashamed of it? She should not be.
When Yuu blushes and admits she was pretending the magic carpet was Jamil to work up her courage to talk to him, he smirks.
“Is that so? A pity. I would have danced with you if only you were this honest with me every day,” he teases--but then he bows and asks for a dance. Jamil does not let her say no.
He leads Yuu in a dance with lots of fancy footwork and a breakneck pace. By the end of it, she’s out of breath and her head is spinning. Still, it was fun!
“You did well. Perhaps you would be interested in dancing on an even grander stage?” Jamil suggests. “There is to be a ball in the Land of Hot Sands. I would be honored to have you as my partner for it.”

miscellaneous fellow honest headcanons
These aren't following any prompt in particular, these are just thoughts I had when I saw the guy hammin' it up and then turning on us.
Some of these headcanons are informed by fan art I've seen and discussions I've had with friends, while others are purely me.
Curiouser and Curiouser...
Tumblr media
He calls people “little lads” and “little ladies”.
Fellow has a very noticeable laugh. Like, he grunts and snorts and has tears rolling down his cheeks. (He tends to laugh at others’ misery, thinking of it as “retribution” or “payback” for the injustices he has suffered himself.)
Bro shaves using a knife (yes, he shaves because he is a grown ass man) because razors are hella expensive.
He uses that cheap cologne and cakes it on THICK. This, in his mind, gives off the impression that he’s a well-off and put-together individual you should tooootally trust.
Also the type of person that lays it on thick with his words. If he’s trying to impress a date or something, he’ll shower them with so many compliments it almost seems fake. But no, he’s just the type to simp hard when he happens to be genuine 💀 most of the time he’s faking it though—
He’s very street smart, but in a way where he confuses hostile people by talking over them and acting overly friendly. They usually stuns them long enough for him and Gidel to skedaddle.
If he gets dumped, he'd be the pathetic whimpering boyfriend that begs for his ex to take him back. When they inevitably don't, he mopes all day about it.
He chain smokes and aggressively drinks as a coping mechanism on his bad days 😔 and sometimes he gambles (like, on those scratch-off cards) hoping that he'll strike it rich and buy him and Gidel a better life...
Basically, he generally does not have his shit together but tries his best to pass like someone who does (and usually succeeds at it).
Fellow appears in public wearing his full suit, but at home (ie whatever ratty temporary housing their boss found for them before they move on to the next place) he just wears a T-shirt and lounges around in boxers (and sometimes socks with holes in them).
He uses those disposable eyeshadow wands that snap in half at the slightest bit of too much pressure. Fellow acts like the Claire’s kid makeup he uses is the luxury stuff, but Vil can tell the pigmentation isn’t all there and there’s MAD fallout.
He may be broke AF and have his moments of emotional spiraling, but he has pretty decent budgeting skills. Fellow lives for sales and does extreme couponing to stretch their money as far as it will go.
He invests in other cost-saving methods like wearing shoes until the sole is literally flopping off and just adding water to residual soap in a pump bottle to make the soap "last longer".
Fellow is really good at cutting food (bread, beans) thin to conserve it. Yes, this is a reference to an old Mickey Mouse cartoon—
When he was younger, he had dreams of being an actor (and, more specifically, starring in musicals). That's why he's often humming, swinging around his cane, and/or whistling as he's on the prowl for idiots to sucker—they're remainders of his thespian days before his dreams were crushed into itty bitty pieces.
Man looks like he'd be great at tap dancing.
Before his current gig, he tried a bunch of other scams including a MLM at one point to get by. His signature spell came in pretty clutch in those days too.
Fellow’s not that good at reading or spelling—in fact, he was never a particularly strong student. (“I didn’t fail school!! The schools failed ME!!”) He’s easily frustrated by academics and thinks there should be more hands-on and practical skills taught in learning institutions.
I think it's a given that he and Ruggie would be besties since they both want to eat the rich but I also think Fellow would kiss ass to Azul and then rage about how shitty + entitled Azul is (Azul reminds Fellow of his boss)💀 Scammers hate other scammers because they're both competing to scam the same people--
Even though Fellow is an asshole to most others (well, when he’s not flattering them to lure them into a trap), he’s always nice to Gidel and puts him first. If there’s ever a situation where they’re short on something (clothes, food, etc), Gidel gets priority. This is why Gidel has a full outfit (even if parts are patches or mismatched) whereas Fellow himself has a glove that is so worn out there’s a hole in one of the pinkie fingers.
Fellow may not be blessed with a bounty of magic, but he’s quick on his feet and good with words. Because of these skills, he’s talented at spinning bedtime stories, which he often tells to Gidel to help him fall asleep on nights that are particularly cold and nasty.
Gidel still believes in Santy Claws and wishing upon stars, and Fellow doesn’t have the heart to tell him the truth. He’ll figure it out on his own one day, Fellow thinks. He just doesn’t want to be the one to ruin those childhood joys for him.
Playing pretend is another shared past time of theirs. It helps Fellow get into character before he goes off to swindle people, and it gives Gidel a way to express himself in spite of being mute. They have a routine they do together where Fellow pretends to be a doctor diagnosing a patient and Gidel takes down notes for him as his medical scribe. Yes, this is a Pinocchio reference—
They actually have many more games they play (mainly because they cannot afford other forms of entertainment). Some of the games are clever ruses conjured by Fellow to teach Gidel survival tips and tricks: the who-can-make-their-piece-of-bread-last-longer game, hide-and-seek (from the authorities), etc.
For special occasions, Fellow saves up some money on the side to grant Gidel little luxuries, like a box of crayons to doodle with.
Gidel hugs Fellow’s leg or waist to cheer him up when he’s upset. He also hides behind Fellow when he’s scared or feeling shy.
He’s just really attached to Gidel cuz they have no one else in this cruel world, just them against the world 😔 He sees a lot of his younger self in the little boy… the opportunities lost because of their circumstances… “It’s alright, Gidel. Leave it to Fellow-sama.”

#sksks #rin #ily
⋆。˚. itoshi rin - love at first sight
rin can’t help but fall in love with every pretty girl he sees.. maybe you’ll be the one he finally pursues (fluff)
Tumblr media
rin wanted to go home. not only did he want to go home, but he wanted to go home and block all of his.. acquaintances as soon as he got there. he seriously didn’t care to be at the dumb school festival at nagi’s and reo’s dumb school.
“come on rin,” bachira giggled while pulling on the sleeve of rin’s shirt. “smile a bit, will you? we’re supposed to be having fun!”
rin rolled his eyes and pulled his sleeve out of bachira’s hold, being met with the annoying pout of his childish ‘friend’. “nothing about this is fun. that idiot purple and white hair duo aren’t even here”
nagi and reo had been setting up for their respective classrooms and rin knew that, he just felt like complaining. he was sick and tired of being dragged around by bachira and watched by isagi while chigiri and yukimiya whispered from ahead of the group with stolen glances shot his way. rin seriously wanted to go home. it’s not like he asked to come with them. he wasn’t even entirely sure how they had gotten him out of his house and to something as stupid as a school festival. bachira’s persuasion seriously has to be studied or something.
with an annoyed sigh, rin trailed behind bachira and isagi as they conversed with each other. he glanced into the open classrooms as they walked or stared at the ground when his eyes got too tired of all the commotion around him.
“ow,” a voice said immediately after feeling something collide with his chest. rin wasn’t affected by it, but he knew that you were as you held your head in your hands with a pained expression on your face.
rin glanced up, seeing bachira and isagi looking over curiously while chigiri and yukimiya giggled like a couple of idiots as they watched the scene. then there were your friends. he noticed that one was giving him a dirty look, two others were surrounding you and asking if you were okay, and the last one was laughing softly to herself, but trying to peek at you through the barricade of your other two friends, likely trying to see if you were okay.
and rin just stood there, feeling awkward and shifting from foot to foot.
he didn’t necessarily feel bad, just slightly confused and annoyed at the fact that something like this had to happen to him. another reason on why he should’ve just stayed home.
“are you all right..?”
your voice barely processed in rin’s brain by the time he glanced down at you, meeting your gaze. and when your words finally did process, rin was too busy staring at you to even form a single word.
the way your eyes had teared up just a bit had rin nearly mesmerized. the way you sniffled softly and still had a hand caressing the side of your head. and the way you looked at him, eyebrows furrowed and complete concern laced in your gaze on him. entirely on him.
rin could feel his mouth going dry and he tried his best to swallow, but it sounded more like he was choking. even more concern grew in your eyes, and he silently cursed at himself. “fine” rin choked out, though it hardly sounded like a word to him, so he knew it hardly sounded like a word to you.
“i’m fine,” rin finally said after clearing his throat and tearing his eyes from yours. “didn’t even feel anything. you’re so small”
a snort from your friend made your cheeks heat up and you quickly looked towards the floor. “maybe you’re just huge..” you muttered and rin glanced back down towards you. he didn’t put any effort into making a face, so he just stared down at you with that usual intimidating face that usually scared people off.
but you just laughed softly and shyly looked at the ground. you didn’t look away in discomfort or try to get out of the situation as quickly as possible. you laughed and looked away like you were too shy to meet his gaze any longer.
“that’s enough ogling,” your friend smiled, effectively snapping both you and rin out of whatever love trace you had going on. “we got stuff to do and places to be. it’s been real nice, man” the unknown boy looked at rin with a cocky smile, making rin want to roll his eyes and scoff in annoyance. but he didn’t.
“sorry again,” you said with a shy smile and rin nodded, feeling heat rushing to his cheeks at the way you looked at him. be careful not to run into anyone else, is what rin wanted to say, but he didn’t. “quit apologizing already” is what he said, making him wince at how mean his tone sounded. you didn’t seem to mind it though as you sent him a fond smile and walked away with your friends.
the first to come over to him were yukimiya and chigiri, who had annoying smirks on their faces that rin so desperately wanted to smack them for. then, isagi and bachira who still had curious looks on their faces.
“what happened here?” reo’s voice came from behind rin, making him turn around. for some reason, his face annoyed him, but he didn’t say anything.
bachira spoke for him instead. “rin pushed some poor girl to the floor” he said with a pout, making chigiri snort a laugh. “had the girl crying and everything”
“i didn’t,” rin hissed with a pointed glare towards the idiot duo. “we just bumped into each other. i never pushed anyone down, especially not some small girl” he scoffed and glanced at reo’s amused face.
“y/n’s cool, so don’t think about it too much”
at that, rin looked curiously at reo. did he know her?
“you know her, reo?” isagi asked, tilting his head slightly to the side in confusion. “uh huh. she’s cool, like i said. me and nagi hang out with her sometimes”
rin stayed quiet, trying to rid the burning feeling in his cheeks as he repeated your name in his mind. it suited you somehow. rin wasn’t sure if it even made sense, but your name matched your face perfectly. at the feeling of his heart beating harder in his chest, he pushed the thought of you from his mind. he didn’t need the others to see his reactions at the mere thought of you.
yukimiya and chigiri seemed to notice though, looking at each other and giggling, once again, like idiots.
and somehow, rin just knew that they would be plotting something based on the sly looks they were giving him. with a sigh, rin gave up on the idea of scolding them and just let it go. maybe the thought of seeing you again wasn’t so bad.

bllk boys romance tropes!
notes : a draft, i’ll try to start working on requests whenever i have free time on vacay :) i lowkey wanna make a part two but idk which characters.
Tumblr media
isagi - i think everyone can agree that he is 100% childhood best friends to lovers. your parents are best friends so it’s only natural the two of you are close.
rin - to be honest i can’t see him dating anyone unless he has a special connection to them, so i would have to say friends to lovers. he definitely denied having feelings for u tho.
michael - enemies to lovers. imagine working for Bastard München and you two don’t get along at all.
nagi - he is so brothers best friend. imagine being reos younger or older sister and meeting nagi. he’s so bbg.
reo - forbidden love 🤭. imagine your parents are rival companies.
bachira - instalove or love at first sight. he would fall so hard for you the second he saw you!
sae - opposites attract. i dont know why but i just know.
hiori - penpals. you two played a video game together and from then on you two became pen pals. (discord relationship💀)
kunigami - injury. he got hurt and you were the one to help him ;)
