Rosie's Cafe
In a corner that once held barwear and Mormon souvenirs was Rosie's Cafe, a cafe that Steve and Robbie tried so hard to make happen but it just wouldn't happen.
If memory serves me, the case on the wall held Mormon souvenirs like little figures of temples, but the case below held shot glasses, hookahs, bar glasses, and bottle openers while the case closest to the door held our turquoise jewelry...that was across from a Native American section that was stocked with stuff made in China...
Steve was our accountant, and he went to culinary school. He worked so hard and made a beautiful cafe space, but it didn't get much business. He eventually moved away, so Robbie and Richard brought in this woman named Tiffany who had a cake business. She had her sons run the cafe for a while, and it just never took off, and eventually Tiffany's family left. Afterward, it stood abandoned.
It was named Rosie's after Robbie's mother, Roseanne King. Her father was the mayor of Ogden long ago, and she inherited the property from him and created the gift shop.
