Gunil sang softly to himself as he did the dishes, cleaning up the kitchen as a part of his good boyfriend duties for the day. He heard the door to your apartment swing open before slamming shut. His eyes widened, and he quickly put down the dish he was washing. Gunil slowly made his way to the front door, where he found you kicking off your shoes.

“Hey,” he said softly, offering a smile. “How was wo-”

“UGH! I don’t even want to think about that damn job right now!!” You quickly covered your face with your hands, taking a deep breath. Gunil’s eyes went wide. “Sorry,” you mumble, rubbing your hands against your face. “I didn’t mean to yell at you.” When your hands left your face, Gunil could see that you looked exhausted, which caused him to frown.

“It’s okay,” he said, his soft tone continuing. “I know you didn’t mean it.” He moved closer to you, wrapping you in a tight hug which you quickly returned. “You wanna talk about it? Get some things off your chest?” You nodded, breathing in the scent of his cologne and laundry detergent. He smiled. “Let’s go sit down, okay love?” You nodded again, and Gunil led the two of you over to the couch, sitting down and pulling you into his lap- his hands remaining around you. You leaned into him, making yourself comfortable.

“Sorry I yelled at you,” you repeated, your voice soft and guilty.

Gunil chuckled, “Honey, it’s okay. You’re clearly stressed, so I know you didn’t mean it. Are you alright? Talk to me; what’s going on?”

“Today just sucked,” you said simply.

“Yeah? What about it sucked?” Gunil started rubbing your back in a soothing manner.

“Everything!” You whine dramatically, causing Gunil to chuckle. “I swear my boss was out for blood today. He came into my office with a stack of papers this thick-” you hold up a measurement between your thumb and forefinger “- dropping it onto my desk and said I needed to have them looked through and ready for our meeting with the company president that was this afternoon.”

Gunil nodded, his eyebrows furrowing together slightly as he listened.

“So when the meeting finally started,” you continue, “I show up, and the meeting starts, and everything is fine until the president notices a small mistake I had missed.”

“Oh no,” Gunil frowned. “Did he say something?”

“No,” you huff, “but my boss sure did.” Gunil’s eyes went slightly wide. “After the meeting, my boss ripped me a new one. He waited for the president to leave and then he just stood in my office and lectured and yelled at me for like… five minutes.” You wipe your hands over your face again. “It sucked.”

Gunil’s arms tightened around you, and you finally wrapped your arms around him as well. He placed a kiss on the crown of your head.

“Well,” he started, “I’m sorry that all of that happened,” he said softly. “But, look at the bright side: it’s over now. No more meetings, and the president didn’t seem upset with you.” You nod softly. “You did the best you could with what you were given, okay? If your boss can’t acknowledge that, then that’s on him. He waited until the last minute to give you the work. He couldn’t expect perfection.”

You nod again. “I guess you’re right,” you said softly. Gunil moved one of his hands to stroke your hair.

“Besides, I’m proud of you. You did what you could, and you held it together until you got him. You did a good job.” He smiles at you, and you can’t help but smile back at him. “Are you feeling better, love?”

“Yeah,” you shrug. “I just wanna relax now.” You make yourself comfortable against his chest, causing him to chuckle.

“We can do that,” he said, placing another kiss to your head. “We can watch a movie? Order some takeout?”

“Sounds perfect,” you sigh.

When you and Hyeongjun started dating, you were exactly the ball of energy he needed. You were funny, kind, outgoing, a great listener, and over the years the two of you proved to be the perfect pair. Hyeongjun’s crush on you formed shortly after the two of you met in your high school band class, and luckily for him, you had the nerve to ask him to your senior prom. Ever since then, the two of you have been side by side through everything.

As the years went on, the two of you suck it out through everything; Hyeongjun’s debut, your schooling and jobs, tour, small fights, bad days- you name it. Even when it poured on your wedding day- soaking your well-kept outfits and the entirety of your wedding party- the two of you could laugh it off with a smile. There was nothing you couldn’t get through without each other. You were hosting a small house party where you, Hyeongjun, and a couple of your close friends were all playing games and having some drinks. Just come casual hangout time where you all get to catch up with each other between all of your busy schedules. You sat at your small dining room table, dealing out a deck of cards while laughing with a friend while Hyeongjun took a moment alone in the kitchen to recharge his battery slightly.

“Hey, Hyeongjun,” Jungsu greeted as he walked into the kitchen, offering a small smile.

Hyeongjun turned to him with a small smile. “Hey. What's up?”

“Came in to get another drink.”

“There’s plenty in the fridge,” Hyeongjun said before turning his gaze back to what he was doing before. “Help yourself.”

Jungsu thanked him and swung the fridge door open, grabbing a can for himself. “You want anything?” Jungsu turned his attention towards Hyeongjun when it took him a little too long to respond. “Dude?” Jungsu called, snapping Hyeongjun out of his trance. “You alright?” Hyeongjun looked back at him with a soft smile, feeling how his cheeks were a little flushed. He nodded shyly, fiddling with his wedding band. Jungsu gave him a curious smile. “What’cha lookin’ at?”

A soft chuckle escaped Hyeongjun as he now gazed towards the floor. “(Y/N),” he admitted softly, shrugging his shoulders. Jungsu couldn’t help but chuckle as well.

“Aw, really?” He smiled, “You guys have been married for, like, a year and a half?”

Hyeongjun chuckled again, “Cool, right?” His gaze on you never faltered, and Jungsu couldn’t help but feel his heart swell at the sight of the younger man being so infatuated with you.

“So the honeymoon phase really never ends for you, huh?” Jungsu chuckles.

“Nope,” Hyeongjun let out with an almost dreamy sigh. “Even when we were dating, the magic never wore off.”

Jungsu looked over at you as well. You seemed to sense the two staring because you looked up from your cards and gave them a soft smile and wave which they both happily returned. Jungsu took note of how both you and Hyeongjun appeared to be a little pink in the cheeks. He cracked open the can of his drink, taking a sip, and then patting Hyeongjun’s shoulder lightly.

“I’m happy for you,” he said genuinely. “I’m gonna go rejoin the game. You want me to have (Y/N) deal you in?”

“Nah, I’ll join the next round,” Hyeongjun nodded. Jungsu went to step out of the kitchen when Hyeongjun suddenly called his name. “Don’t mention this to (Y/N), alright? They like to tease me for being so sappy,” he smiled softly.

Jungsu returned the smile, making a motion over his lips as if he was zipping them shut before letting out a soft chuckle and joining you back at the dining table.

It was your lunch break between classes, and you and your boyfriend Jiseok were enjoying some of the springtime sun. He was already done with his classes for the day, so you had decided to meet up and eat lunch outside. This was rare for the two of you, seeing that Jiseok was typically off with his friends for some club stuff at this time.

“I’m telling you Jiseok,” you sigh, “I’m not gonna pass.” You were put into an English composition class, and writing was not your forte, and your grades weren’t something to brag about.

“Just drop the class,” Jiseok offered. “There’s nothing wrong with dropping a class you aren’t gonna pass. It’s better than sacrificing your GPA.”

“I know, but…” you look away from him with a frown, “I’d be disappointed with myself.”

“Hey,” Jiseok said softly, taking your hand in his. “It’s alright. There’s nothing to be ashamed about. I had to drop that one philosophy class last semester, remember?”

“Yeah…”

“And did it work out in the end?”

You give him a small nod.

“Exactly,” he brings your knuckles to his lips and gives them a soft kiss. “It’s all gonna be okay.”

You exchanged soft smiles, but your sweet moment was short-lived.

“Jiseok!”

Jiseok dropped your hand onto the table you were sitting at as if you had burnt him. He looked up in the direction of the voice that had called his name. You looked as well, seeing his friend, Jooyeon, jogging your way. You quickly looked down at the table.

“Hey man,” Jiseok greeted him with a smile and a small handshake that you would guess that they’ve practiced before. “What’s up?”

“Why aren’t you at practice?” Jooyeon asked.

“Oh, uh,” Jiseok struggled, “I’m tutoring,” he motioned to you across the table. “This was the only time we could both meet up, so I couldn’t make it.” Jooyeon nodded and looked over at you. You gave him a smile that he didn’t return.

“Can you come after you’re done with your nerd stuff?” Jooyeon asked, quickly brushing off your polite gesture and giving you a side-eye.

“I’ll see,” Jiseok answered shortly. “I shouldn’t be here much longer.” He looked over at you, and you could almost make out the apologetic look in his eyes. You looked back down at the table again.

“Alright, cool,” Jooyeon smiled at him. “I’ll tell Gunil you’re on your way.” The two of them did their little handshake again while exchanging goodbyes, and Jooyeon trotted off.

“Seriously?” You asked once he was out of earshot.

“What?” Jiseok asked as if he had done nothing wrong.

“You lied to him about us. Why would you do that? I thought you said the guys knew.” Your frown was evident, and Jiseok didn’t seem to care.

“They will,” he said quickly, clearly just trying to appease you. “Just give it some time.”

“Jiseok,” your voice shook ever-so-slightly, “Are you embarrassed to be seen with me?” You watched as Jiseok's face grew a little pale. It was evident that he had been caught. You knew that Jiseok was more popular than you. He played in a band that was well-known around campus, he was involved in sports and clubs, and he was attractive, smart, and (supposedly) kind to the people around him. If this was high school, someone like Jiseok probably would’ve bullied someone like you. You frown.

“(Y/N)-” he started, “it’s not like that-”

“It’s not?” You started to get angry now. “Then why can we never hang out in public? Why can’t you invite me along to parties or take me on dates? Why can’t your friends know about us?” You tried your hardest to keep it together, but his lack of response was starting to get to you. “Is it because you think I’m not cool enough?” Jiseok tries to stutter out a response, but he can’t think of an answer that won’t hurt your feelings. “Whatever,” you scoff, standing from your seat. “I gotta go to class.” You grab your things to leave, giving him an angry look before you go. “Have fun at practice.”
