Falin's chimera design is so good I was mesmerized by her every time she showed up. Now that Bloom Into You has been in existence for almost ten years, it's interesting seeing new yuri fans read it and often come out of it underwhelmed. I think it's important to understand the context which is that Bloom Into You getting an anime on Crunchyroll and being successful on a more mainstream level really kickstarted a yuri boom that I think we're still living through. The yuri fandom landscape was so, so much different before Bloom Into You.

Personally I find it a solid manga, I liked it, not one of my favorites but I enjoyed it. Many people who read it now will probably wonder why it is held in such high regard. But the fact is, because it had a popular anime on Crunchyroll and was very visible, it helped a lot of people discover yuri, and the modern yuri landscape owes it a lot for that reason.
