I really, really, really try to center my writing and activism in love. Even the anger must be grounded in love, and in a belief that all people--even those I disagree with--deserve to love and be loved. This is what I'm called to do by my faith, but I also think it leads to better writing and more effective activism.
But if one more motherfucker calls me a groomer while trying to ban my books, I am going to lose my fucking shit i swear to god.

as a book lover, the rwrb movie was okay. it took away depth from the book and it was an okay adaptation.
as a gay person the rwrb movie was amazinggg (yes I cried). i can't believe that a gay romcom like that was produced by a major studio this is ground breaking I'm very exited and happy for it. gay rights.

God, anyone else remember when everyone understood that the correct feminist position about sports was that women should be allowed to compete with men because they're just as capable? When it was a trope in media to have the mysterious star athlete who just blew everyone else out of the water to take off her helmet and reveal that she was a woman the whole time?
Now people are rabidly arguing that supposed "men" (trans women) have inherent insurmountable biological advantages in literally every single possible activity and cis women are too weak and dainty and unskilled to ever compete and must be protected, and then they try to call themselves feminists who are being silenced as if that's not just the mainstream sexist patriarchal opinion
Anyway, desegregate sports. There was never any reason to separate them by gender in the first place

thinking about the line “mothers stand still so that their daughters can look back and see how far they’ve come” because like,,,, what an awful and tender and wonderful thing, that women choose to sacrifice all that they are not for their own gain, but for the hope that those after them may go a little further in this world not intended for them
they feel the discomfort of being human, compounded with the additional weight of womanhood, and choose still to love and elevate the women around them, instead of detesting them for succeeding where they were not allowed to
it’s just,,,, i went into barbie expecting a 6/10 kinda-entertaining-but-forgettable film, but honestly that one line had me sobbing despite myself. what a wonderfully nuanced and emotionally intelligent little thing
