Grambling Legends Inc. mourn the passing of Grambling Legends Sports Hall of Famer Robert L. Atkins, Jr. April 2, 1946 September 22, 2020. Mr. Atkins played football and baseball for Grambling State University. He was drafted in the 2nd round at defensive back in the National Football League. The Grambling Legends Inc. mourn the passing of 2015 Grambling Legends Sports Hall of Famer Goldie Sellers. He played at Grambling State University under coach Eddie Robinson.  As a professional, he played four seasons as a cornerback for the Denver Broncos (1966–1967) and the Kansas City Chiefs (1968–1969). Sellers was a member of the Chiefs' Super Bowl IV-winning squad. He passed from complications of cancer. He was 78. The Grambling Lady Tiger Win Last Home Game Of The Season As Coleman Shoots Her Way Into The Top 25 All-time. 3/3/2020 R. Higgins #GoGrambling Coming into the match up with Mississippi Valley on Monday with 785 career points Junior guard/forward Justice Coleman (pictured left) was on the outside looking in at Gramblings top scorers. With 5:54 in the 2nd quarter Coleman hit a 3 pointer to replace 25th all time Felecia James (bottom right/1996-99) who finished 788 career points. At the 2:15 mark in the 2nd quarter Coleman hit a two point chip shot in the lane to give her 794 points and move her into 24th all-time and past Ashanna Wright (top right/1995-99) who had 793 career points. The milestones weren't over for the Baton Rouge native. With 1:56 left in the 3rd quarter she made a layup giving her 801 points and moving her into the 800+ point club of which only 23 other players have reached. She finished the game with 17 points 802 for her career, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. The lady tigers went on to defeat Mississippi Valley 61-45 as five seniors played their last game in the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center. The lady tigers will close out the season on the road with a trip this week to Alabama A&M on Thursday and Alabama State on Saturday. Other notable milestones: Ariel Williams is ranked 25th in the top 25 all-time career assists with 124.
