HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEORGE RUSSELL!
↳ February 15th, 1998
“And I’m like “bro, [driving an F1 car] is not like driving down to the supermarket.”
“Every single situation I try to take in my stride. I never believe in good luck or bad, you get what you deserve and get out of life what you put into it. My aspirations and goals are clear. I want to become world champion and I want to find myself in the car that will give me the best opportunity to achieve that.”
“It’s just been such an emotional roller coaster and journey for all of us from go-karting, travelling up and down the country in the camper van with my parents, to the support my brother and sister gave me, and the support my girlfriend’s given me throughout this whole season. It’s not a straighforward life in Formula 1. We’re all living our dreams, but your emotions vary substantially based on performance. And you’re coming home from a weekend either very happy and things are good, or coming home pretty disappointed and that’s difficult for everybody, and I feel that for all of us.”
“I’d say ‘blimey’ is a bit more of a disbelief in something. ‘Crikey’ I think is more of like a shock.”
