Tomorrow I'm going to be around family all day, and then the next day my mom is driving me to the airport at 4 or 5 in the morning. I don't want to go to treatment. I know I need to recover but I called for the virtual program. I didn't expect to be flown out for residential. I've only been to short term psych wards, and my max time there was three weeks. All of those were complete hell.

Most people in my life don't even know I'm going to res for bulimia (actually, people I don't know probably even know because my grandmother knows and she loves to gossip), but that's happening. I have to fly there, and I'm not looking forward to it. Luckily they're covering the cost for me, but I feel like that's only adding pressure. I am so stressed about all of this. I haven't eaten that much consistently probably ever?

To expand on what I said in my last post, the majority of seasons 5-7 are not about Twilight, which is a major shift in the show. It really was important for the show to do this, not only so the map can actually be used, but because Twilight stagnates for a while after taking on the title of Princess of Friendship. Sure, she apologizes to her old friends, but this arch is honestly the worst of her behavior overall. She's still trying to please everyone, but because she never actually takes the time to process anything that has happened to her (not in the kid's show excuse way, in the way we see her actively avoiding her problems and trauma constantly), she rushes through everything and gets violent. Having Twilight be the focus would make these seasons unbearable to watch.

The intro to season five is one of my favorites, and not because it introduces Starlight.

I feel like it is a great way to introduce the shift in the show, because honestly seasons 1-4 are kind of their own arch, with Twilight learning how to friendship, becoming a princess, and then learning what that will mean for her. Tirek and losing the library is a great way to conclude that chapter, because she goes from magic (studies) being more important than friendship, to friendship being more important than magic.

At the start of season five we have a whole new setting, the characters practically reintroduce themselves in the first scene, and we have the whole setup for the next arch of the show. Sure, you could simply say it's just the map and Starlight being introduced, but I think it's so important to this arch that they don't win. Sure, they get their cutie marks back and Starlight flees, but they don't defeat her, and the ponies in starlight's village get their cutie marks back for them.

None of them actually want to go on that mission and are just doing it to make Twilight feel better to begin with. A lot of the characters are slowly starting to come off as more resentful towards their roles, and I do think that's an important little detail to put in that first episode.

I could go way more into everything, but I will spare you from an even longer post. I am sick and tired rn.

I do think big fandom fics are a little too easily hated on because they have thousands of kudos or comments people start to think it’s ok to publicly trash them but the authors of those fics are just humans who put out a piece of their soul into the world and are probably also insecure about their writing just like us medium and small authors like i’ve seen big name authors get chased off tumblr or stop writing altogether what i’m saying is stay classy and keep the hate to DMs with your friends
