Real shit tho guys, witchblr puts so much emphasis on divining a little bit often that no one ever talks about the big divining sessions for when you need as much information as possible.
To all the new magic practitioners out there, when you have a few types of divination you're competent in and you have a big issue you want to divine about, GO ALL OUT. Invoke the gods, light the candles, summon the spirits of your ancestors, and use every method you can think of.
Here's an outline for an All Out Divining Session that has all the bells and whistles, so you can see what's what.
First, clean out a big space to divine on. My working altar isn't big enough for lenormand spreads and I don't feel comfortable casting stones on the surface of it because it's a family heirloom, so I clean the big open section of floor in from of the altar.
Cleanse the room you're divining in, check and reinvigorate the wards if necessary. Absolutely nothing is getting in except what I want there.
Spread a fresh cloth to lay your tools on and gather your materials, preparing all of your divining tools. If they need reblessed, reblooded, cleaned or fixed, now is the time to prepare them.
Ready yourself. If you want ritual purity before you directly petition someone for aid in your divination, now is the time to become pure. Change clothes, bless yourself, pray for clarity and Sight, drink your mugwort tea or inhale your Seer's sage smoke.
Cast a circle, light the candles. Invoke whoever is most relevant to the divination: Ancestors, deities, spirits, the holy dead, whoever. Ask them to help you See.
Divine. Go through every method you have one by one. Take your time and go over every omen.
TAKE NOTES. I have a draft book just for this purpose. As I divine I write down just the results of the divination, like drawing a tower out of my tarot deck. If any little revelations come to me, I jot them down. Then, on the next couple of pages, I write down what each thing means, like that the tower means sudden change and misfortune. Then write down what each piece of divination might signal in your life, and a few different ways combining all of these omens might work out- pick the scenario you think is most likely.
Come back to your notes when the whole situation is over and see if any of your predictions were correct. Where did you go wrong or right? Which portents did you read correctly? How did all of the pieces fit together? Reflecting on your past predictions will make you a better diviner.
Not all of these steps are necessary, they're really just the basis of how far you can go. Some gods don't need ritual purity before approaching them, some methods of divining may be left out because they won't be helpful. If you don't plan on petitioning anyone to help you divine or give you their wisdom, you probably don't need to be as stringent about being presentable and safe (though I really reccomend bringing in an entity of some kind because those divining sessions can be crazy good). You don't need to take narcotics to See. This is an outline, not a checklist.
Above all, keep trying! Your first couple of sessions might be confusing or disappointing, but you will get better with every whisper of the fates!

Knots and Threads Ink and red pencil on paper
Since primitive times, people believed knots possess magical powers for good and evil. They were used as magical devices in spells for protection, curing illness or amulets for good luck.
The act of tying a knot implies something is bound, therefore the action becomes a spell towards hindering the action of a person or event. Similarly, the act of loosing a knot implies the removal of the impediment caused by the knot.

Besoms/Witch’s Brooms
Besoms/Witch’s Brooms are used for cleansing and protection. When casting a circle, you may use either your hands or a broom/besom to sweep the negative energy out of the space to then replace it with your own. You can also use them for protection against evil by laying it on its side. There are multiple people who have reported that their abused are extremely uncomfortable with stepping past the broomstick (for some reason ;) ). Brooms are also used for various ceremonies, for example for Marina’s Day; which is a holiday where “mothers celebrate Marina, the protector of the souls of dead children, by crafting brooms with bristles made out of Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) and offering them to each other alongside flowers, corn, and chicks, and they keep the brooms which they use to sweep their homes and yards.”  The Witch’s Besom – How to Craft and Use Your Own Magical Broom By Radiana Pit
Historically, the first person to have claimed to actually fly on a broom was a man named Guillaume Edelin, who was an Augustinian priest and the prior of Saint-Germain-en-Laye when he was arrested and charged with witchcraft. He was charged with such crimes as making a pact with the devil and flitting on a broomstick.
Here are some superstitions to remember:
It is considered unlucky to sweep dust out of a door after nightfall.
Never sweep on New Year’s Day, or you’ll sweep away all your luck for the coming year.
If a visitor is overstaying his welcome, stand a broom up behind the door of the room in which he’s being entertained. He will soon grow uncomfortable and leave.
To prevent the return of an undesirable overnight guest,
sweep the room he or she slept in as soon as possible after their departure.
Stand a broom beside the front door to bar the entrance of negativity.
If one sweeps under the feet of an unmarried person, he or she will never marry.
If an unmarried woman steps over a broom that is lying on the floor, she will become a mother before she becomes a wife.
If someone sweeps over your feet, you are in danger of going to jail unless you immediately spit on the brush of the broom.
To bring rain within three days, dip a broom into a bucket of water into which dried fern has been crumbled and then hold the broom aloft, shaking the water out to simulate rainfall.

Using water in spellwork according to Traditional witchcraft and folk Magick (not wicca or modern witchcraft; these uses will be different):
+Well Water: healing and self care elixirs and potions
*note: to collect this water you must first make a shrine to honor the Guardian of that well facing North or West. This should be done on a full moon and you should leave an offering there or outside somewhere every full moon if you intend to use it for healing. The night you make your shrine you should take your vessel for creating these healing potions (usually your tea pot) and soak the entire vessel in water from the well in a bowl out in the moon light. Then let it air dry and you can use it from then on. Every full moon you should at least pour some drinkable water near or on the shrine as a thank you and rinse your vessel in water from your well (aka the sink in most places that have one).
+Snow Water: working with death and the changing seasons, to bring drastic and destructive change, to imbue someone or a place with a deep cold
*note: collect in any bowl during snow fall (do not pick up snow to use) and let the water sit and freeze overnight and thaw in the morning.
+Dew Water: collected from baneful plants it can be used in curses and hexes, collected from trees like oak trees used for protection and strength related spellwork
*note: use gloves when collecting from baneful plants and don't ingest it. Use the water quickly before it evaporates.
+Tap Water: water from the tap comes from a specific source in your city so this water can be used to connect with the Water Guardian deity of that water source and used for healing people and nature of the area
*note: the shrine mentioned in the well water portion is advisable here as well, although not required.
+Storm Water: torrential downpour storm water holds the energy of the storm itself and can be used in destructive magick and connecting with storm or weather deities, to bring chaos and disruption to someone's life, if a lightning storm the water can hold the energy to destroy life or property
*collect in anything but I don't suggest drinking it. I have collected it many times and it always looks pretty iffy to ingest.
+Moon Water: connect with moon related deities, healing feminine physical and emotional issues (please note I mean feminine sides of oneself not an exclusionary female gender only concept; although this water specifically heals physical female issues as well), adding the spirit of the water to spells for adding potency, as a base for alchemical works or making sacred waters, as a base for creating Hallowed Water, for space and altar cleansings in lieu of smoke, add to ritual baths for potency
*note: moon water is collected in a sacred vessel attached to the end of a long wooden pole or staff. Then this vessel is dipped and raked across the reflection of the moon in another body of water (ponds, pools, rivers, etc). This is done 9 times from each of the Four Quarters after calling them and their Guardians to the rite. Then the staff with the water is left outside where it will consistently have the moon's light on it for at least 3 hours. Do this on the Full Moon for the full 3 days of the moon's cycle. Moon water in a jar in the window sill is a wiccan or modern witch concept.
+War Water: Hallowed Moon water that has rusted nails, metal shards, screws, etc added to it. It must sit for at least one full year to potency. After that year the water is ready to use and can be added to and the metal pieces are left inside. This can be used to break small hexes and curses or to remove curses and imprints from previously owned items.
+Saining Water: use to intensely cleanse a space and remove unwanted spirits or imprints from a home. The recipes vary but utilize well water, moon water, jalapeno water (cut up fresh jalapeno and let sit in a jar of half water half white vinegar or vodka for a full moon cycle), frankincense oil, clove oil, 9 bay leaf ashes, charcoal from a funerary fire, various bones of your choosing, and a splash of War Water. These recipes are usually very personal and aren't shared past these basic ingredients.
+Rain Water: collected during rain that is gentle with little wind and may still have the sun peeking out and creating a soft golden glow. This water is used for bringing peace of mind or peace to a location. Can also be used in rituals involving water-oriented deities.

January New Moon in Capricorn
It's the first New Moon of 2021, so this is an amazing time to set intentions for the year ahead. However, this New Moon aligns with Pluto, a planet known for its powerful and transformative energy—which means we have to get over our jealousies, power struggles, and deepest fears before we can move towards growth. It’s a time for soul growth and evolution. Release, rebuild, and rejuvenate under this New Moon.
This moon also includes a partial solar eclipse, even though only partial, it’s a super new moon in Capricorn and all of its attributes are magnified. Intentions will be magnified for the month and their power and strength can serve you for the next 6 months. This is a powerful and important time for envisioning and co-creating your reality for the entirety of the new year.
