Who's the fastest character in Tales of Vesperia (DE)?
Credit for sharing a link to the ultimate guide goes to @/hungrydolphin91.
Each character has a chart that shows their max stats by level 200 ranked on a scale from D - S. Weirdly enough, the HP and TP are 9999 and 999 respectively regardless of the characters' rank. SP applies by this rule, too (500 max).
The stats are divided by:
Level
HP
TP
Physical Attack
Physical Defense
Magic Attack
Magic Defense
Speed
SP
From what it looks like, the fastest to slowest characters rank as following:
Repede: 1311 (S)
Yuri: 1285 (S)
Judith: 1239 (S)
Patty: 1229 (A)
Flynn: 1128 (B)
Raven: 1102 (B)
Rita: 1102 (B)
Estelle: 984 ( C )
Karol: 820 (D)
So Repede's the fastest (obviously cause he's a dog...), Yuri's next, then Judith. As you can see, they are the only characters with S Rank in Speed.
Shockingly, Patty's the only with A in Speed, and I'm also surprised Rita and Raven have the same total.
Other interesting things I noticed:
Flynn, despite being tooted as "the perfect knight" has absolutely no Stats that rank S. However, he's got A's in HP, Physical Attack, and Defense. His worst stat seems to be his Magic Attack (D) despite having access to Magic Artes (like Mistral Soul).
Raven doesn't have an A in anything.
Karol has an S rank in Physical Attack, like Yuri.
Rita has the most S ranks with her TP, Magic Attack, and Magic Defense being her best, with HP, Physical Attack and Defense as her worst (D).
As far as average stats go, Patty has the best average, with only two stats being B rank, and the rest being A.
Judith's TP is her worst stat, but nothing she has ranks D. Ironically, her Magic Attack is ranked B despite being unable to use strictly Magic Artes in-game.
Repede's got pretty mediocre ranks with his Speed being his best one.
Estelle has the best Physical Defense out of the whole party. Which means she'd make a great tank in PVP /jk.
Yuri's best stats are his Physical Attack and Speed, with his worst being Magic Attack. Some gameplay-story integration there.
Despite having three S Ranks in Speed... I don't' think anyone's faster than Guy Cecil, who zips across the battle field like he's wearing heelies.

Hi, I go by mistral_rondo on Ao3 and dreamwidth.
I mostly write fic and sometimes draw. I used to write Tales of series analyses and rambles, but the latter seems to have hit a nerve, so I don't do that anymore.
No major BYF/DNI (too tired for that shit now), but if you're gonna stick around, then expect to see a lot of shilling/promoting of my own stuff.
Important Stuff:
Ao3
Dreamwidth
Tales of Vesperia multi-chapter fic (Gen)
Tales of Vesperia multi-chapter fic (Judith-centric)

Wanted to see art of Judith with her hair down, but realized Bamco doesn't have any (yet). So, drew my own interpretation of how she'd look.

Regarding my "Pet Peeve" posts...
In light of several comments and a post that made it sound like I was attacking ppl... (they were referring to this and this. Primarily the first one.)
I just won't be posting stuff like that anymore :/ It seems no matter how hard I try to preface that I'm not speaking about anyone in particular, no matter how much I refuse to tag those posts, Tales fandom still accuses me of “attacking" them in some form. “I saw a post complaining about [x], so here’s a four paragraph-post defending myself.” Understandable, but it wasn’t about your narcissistic ass to begin with.
So, I'm sorry to those that found some sort of amusement in my "Pet Peeve" posts or my Tales essays, and KNEW it wasn’t targetting anyone specifically. But I just don't have time nor the energy to keep defending myself from the crowd that gets defensive over something I posted that had nothing to do with them. Said time and energy is better spent elsewhere.

As she searches for solutions in a new Terca Lumireis, the secrets of the Kritya and her silence threaten to isolate her from those she loves.

While on the topic of "memes that Tales fandom has beaten to death"...
...referencing my take on the whole "Velvet and Yuri would get along cause they both kill lol"...
Edit: wow, this post seems to have hit a nerve with the Tales shitpost community.
Flynn being a bad cook is another pet peeve. I fully blame this on the Danzaisha story, where Flynn overdoes it on seasonings/toppings/whatever because of something Yuri said: "It gets boring if you just use the same old recipe. You have to spice it up yourself." Not a 1v1 translation from me, of course, but you get the gist.
Ironically, this line is actually said by Judith in one of the many Cooking Skits in Vesperia...
What Yuri does say, in a Cooking Skit, is that "you're supposed to taste the food as you cook it, but some people don't do that." With, you know, "some people" obviously referring to Flynn.
Flynn's not a bad cook. The problem is, and it's stated by the Wonder Chef himself, Flynn's tastebuds are stunted or smth so he has no sense of taste. That's why he puts so much spices or sugar into meals. It should also be noted that Flynn's cooking looks good! You just don't know if it tastes good until you take that first bite. That running gag is beat over the head any time Flynn enters the scene in-game - there's no excuse to miss it, honestly.
But posts where it's a cake blowing up or a shoe filled with milk (...huh?) and going "lol this is Flynn"...? Um, no, it's not. Not really. Flynn knows how to cook, and if he follows the recipe, it tastes as good as anyone else's. What Flynn doesn't know, is how to season. And that's not because he just sees funny ingredients and throws them into the pot like Chie and Yukiko from Persona 4. It's because, again, he has no sense of taste.
That's not to say the whole "Flynn's cooking is like Russian Rouelette" isn't not funny... sometimes... But imo, the joke is funnier when Flynn's not flanderized/twisted to shit by fandom to where it's not even Flynn anymore, but just some Guy with his name.

I wonder: would anyone read a “darker” take/alternate turn (in canon) on Vesperia? For example: lower quarter portrayed more realistically, the Great War lasting more than two fucking days.
…Or should I be boring and go post-canon?
Post-canon is easier from a writing standpoint because I’m not having to build things up from square one, ex: Brave Vesperia already know one another, I can implement side content. But a postgame fic means brainstorming for a fan character (which isn’t difficult for me, but it takes some more time).

Don't worry: There's no "tragic backstory" to this one. I haven't had any (personal) beef with anyone from this fandom. Just minor annoyances that stacked on and on before everything just toppled.
