The cumulative stress of recovering from the wedding and launching straight into exams had had it’s toll on Dominique. She came out of the exam hall tired and drained, wishing she could go back and correct the mistakes she already knew she’d made. Concentration had been an issue for her lately.

“Well, I don’t think that could possibly have gone any worse. And I’m going to have to wait until the end of summer to find out and it’s unbearable. Why can’t they just tell me now that I’ve failed and have it over with? I need a drink. And plans for summer.”

Chloe eyed the bottle and looked at Rania, “I don’t know, a cat which has an unfortunate accident and then runs into a helpful wizard? Whatever it is it doesn’t look pleasant.”

I’m not really looking for an argument. I was just wondering if you had any good luck charms or anything like that. One of my professors wrote a recommendation for me for a job and I wanted to thank her.

June 6th

It wasn’t migraines and fatigue brought about by lack of sleep and stress. It was malnutrition, unintended due to lack of awareness and with severe effects. It wasn’t potions to treat the above symptoms acting up, but morning sickness. She was lucky both she and the fetus had managed to survive, she was told. Lucky. What a joke.

She was already into the second trimester, able to easily pinpoint the one and only night this could have happened. Valentine’s Day, when she’d Floo’d into Moscow to surprise Xavier as a surprisingly romantic and genuine gesture. She’d overlooked all the signs, unconcerned by going months without a hint she wasn’t pregnant. There’d always been months in between before, her mother always told her it was because her lifestyle as a dancer affected her body that way. And now her body wasn’t just hers anymore. She’d undergone intense recovery, downing potion after potion, having needles tipped with healing herbs poked al over her, spells she’d never so much as heard of cast on her stomach to help protect what was now growing inside. They kept her for a week, horrible timing just before final exams that she didn’t feel at all prepared for. Horrible timing for a million other reasons.

She had to go out in public again, though. She had to go to final classes, to the library to study, to the shops for basics, to the seamstress to let out all her dresses and robes now that she was showing. The robes were flowing enough that it could be hidden well, but the second a bit of wind or a draft blew an over-robe to the side, the tell-tale bump could be seen that nearly wasn’t visible at all even two weeks ago. She didn’t want to admit she felt healthy for the first time in nearly two months, not when she was sharing her health with something else. “Excuse me,” she muttered, trying to step around someone she hadn’t even realized she nearly walked right into while lost in her own thoughts.

Not exactly. My father is opening a Hogsmeade Branch and I’ll be in charge. I’m pretty confident I can do it. It’s in my veins and I’ve been working with my fathers, watching him for years.

Your parents are retiring and giving you their shop? Do you think you’re ready for that?

For starters, the riddle refers to man. Not the Sphinx. The sphinx gave the riddle. And pretty sure it’s still a highly restricted ingredient
