the thing is, i don't want the love confession to come from eddie for buck's sake, or out of some 'buck needs to be chosen and eddie needs to choose' thing, or because i think buck needs to hear how much eddie loves him (side note: i think buck does know how much eddie loves him. maybe not the exact shape of it, but he knows, come on)

i want it because the last time eddie took that kind of big emotional risk to ask for something he really wanted out of a relationship - to ask someone he loved to be with him, romantically - it blew up horribly. shannon asked him for a divorce, and then she died, and i think there's still some part of eddie that's sitting at that table, getting his heart broken, and that's why he has never taken that kind of risk since. he takes the safe route. he does what he's supposed to. he protects his heart. so for him to finally be able to go, i might be wrong about this, and if it doesn't work out it's going to hurt like hell, but i want it enough to ask for it anyway - idk. i want that for him. i want the next big emotional risk he takes to end happily.
