not original idea but was thinking about a zx au where vent and aile were twins and the split timeline was one of them being killed along with their mother during the maverick raid, because serpent knew about the model x biomatches being twins and decided he only needed one and ordered the mavericks to only spare one and kill the other

in the vent lives timeline, he gets separated from his mother and aile, so he goes back into the fires and wreckage and manages to find his mother trying to free aile from some burning wreckage, but before he can reach them, they both get killed by mechaniloids right in front of him. he passes out from shock and/or smoke inhalation before giro finds him and rescues him while transformed with model z, which is why vent doesn't see that giro is actually mega man model z. his family and giro getting killed right in front of him is the reason why vent has a bit of an obsession with becoming stronger to protect the people he cares about, which is why he often mentions being powerless and not being able to prevent anybody's death.

in the aile lives timeline, she mentions her mother dying a lot less than vent, so i think it would be appropriate if aile didn't witness her mother and vent dying. aile seems to have more of a complex about being a mega man and why she was chosen to survive, which reads like survivor's guilt to me. aile also gets separated from her mother and vent, but instead of finding them, she runs into a younger kid about to be attacked by mechaniloids. aile holds off the mechaniloids by throwing debris at them until giro shows up, untransformed, and leads them both to safety. this would also explain why aile isn't as disturbed as vent about being powerless, because while she couldn't save her own family, she still helped someone else. when talking with fistleo, aile is surprised when fistleo tells her that the mavericks spared her, which shakes her confidence a bit because she had always thought it was her own resourcefulness and quick thinking that helped her save that child.

also i think this would help explain giro's decision to tell aile that he had always known he was mega man model z but not vent, because aile was conscious when giro saved her while vent was not, so giro figured that aile would piece it together anyway how he was able to reach her in the middle of the maverick attack. also giro witnessed aile's bravery so he trusts her to handle the truth a bit better, whereas vent was pretty scarred by the whole experience, so giro held off on talking about it

of course, this wouldn't be consistent with giro saying that he found aile all alone when he rescued her, but whatever, it's an au

Prairie got a fancy dress in the Audio dramas, I feel like the others deserve one too.

I was actually inspired by this post with the Phantom Thieves in masquerade outfits, they're really good designs and I wanted to do something similar with the ZX characters.

It's been a fun idea tbh, plus a good exercise in outfit design and posing with Ashe in particular. That's an area I think I really need to work on so with Ashe I wanted to try and draw a less stiff pose. I based it on Eunie's pose from her concept art. I feel like a confident pose like that really suits Ashe.
