was yuri skipping his obligations? a small grin played around his lips. he was, wasn’t he? either way, not like sylvain didn’t have time to take care of supplies or watch over the town later on. he was too curious about yuri for now. it was like a hunger that needed to be satisfied before sylvain could actually resume his responsibilities. suggesting chess was just an idea the redhead had. he was actually very damn good at it, but he didn’t choose this hobby just to impress yuri with his actual brains. he knew some questioned the existence of actual braincells working, but sylvain was far more capable than people made him out to be.

when the opportunity came around, sylvain boldly leaned over, grabbing yuri by the collar to press a kiss against his lips. it was anything but gentle. provocative even, but sylvain couldn’t let this slip him by after the things yuri had said to him. he intrigued sylvain. this honestly, despite his academy days, didn’t happen often.

boldly lifting yuri up, he gently put him down on the desk, making himself comfortable between the male’s legs after pushing the damn chess field and pieces out of the way. leaning over yuri, a hand came up to cup his cheek, hips pressing down against the other’s. “anything you’ll ask for, i give it to you.” he did mean it. he wasn’t going to do anything without permission, but he also wouldn’t do anything, if yuri didn’t ask for it. a small grin played around the redhead’s lips. “i am fully at your command.”

Sure, being part of the Faerghus army should have meant he was happy to go along with them, but there was only so much sunlight and jolly camaraderie he could put up with in a single day.  He’d entertained Sylvain’s request originally because chess was mostly a silent game, at least in his experience.  Save for a certain one person, he tended to play against people who were silent and thoughtful as they planned out their moves.

Sylvain was one such person, and not just when it came to board games.

Despite Yuri’s tendency to take command in most aspects of his life, he was more than content to let a potential partner take the lead with him, at least for a while.  He wrapped his legs around Sylvain’s waist, leaning up to catch his lips for another kiss.  Hands went up into Sylvain’s red hair, tangling his fingers in it and staying there even after the brief kiss ended.

“That is a very dangerous thing to tell me, Sylvain.” Yuri’s voice was lower than usual and quiet.  “Though I suppose that depends on what your intentions were in the first place.  Personally, I’d love you to fuck me senseless, but that’s a bit much to simply spring on someone.”

Yuri would never admit it took him a full moment to realize just what Sylvain was doing.  They’d been among a small group that was taking a short leave from the battlefield in Fhirdiad, partly to relax, partly to restock on supplies, and partly to assess how much danger the capitol might be in.  But while the others had set off to do the latter two, Yuri had opted out of joining them in favor of the chance to spend his time in an actual building rather than tents.

And Sylvain had said he’d catch up with them, which Yuri had disregarded in favor of his own plans to relax.  At least until he’d asked if Yuri wanted to play chess.  But chess didn’t usually lead to him being ravished like this.  It wasn’t an innocent kiss by any means, the intent behind it very, very obvious.

He’d found himself straddling Sylvain’s lap, and when he finally pulled back, there was a spark in his eyes and a smirk on his lips.

“Mm, very tasty.  Do I get more, or are you just being a tease?”

Smiling wryly at his words, Setsuka pulled back from him to give him the extra space he needed. She feels so bad for getting Yuri involved in situations where she’s at a disadvantage hence why Manuela always expects them after their campaign. She really needs to study the cases better so that she can plan to anticipate the enemy’s next movement, especially if they’re a tactician such as Claude.

Rather than beating herself over it, knowing Yuri would scold her about her bad habit, she decides to take it into mind as a lesson to improve herself as a leading figure. Yuri is already aware of her feelings towards him, but he hasn’t said much about it other than usual. It’ll be the best cause she doesn’t want to push for an answer, but someday she’ll hear it from him.

“Can I help? If you allow me, I can retouch your makeup and paint your nails.” She asked.

He understood the want to offer.  Honestly, though, his first instinct was to hide away for a few days until the bruise faded and he could face society again.

“...I suppose,” he finally said.  That didn’t mean he’d actually let her do anything to help him, but she was persistent.

And besides, as much as he abhorred the sun, natural light was much better than candlelight when it came to things like this.  If he intended on staying down in Abyss to clean himself up, he would have said no.  She definitely didn’t belong down there.

“As long as we can find somewhere to work where I won’t be surrounded by cats.”

‘ even if i’m a little beaten and bloody, i can still fight.  besides, dimitri wouldn’t have made me his commander if i couldn’t handle a bit of a beating. ’ 

he  shrugs  slightly  ,  sighing at the prospect of returning to camp like this.  shez knew everyone  ,  especially  dimitri  ,  had enough on their plates to worry about.  the last thing  anyone  needed was to worry about him  ,  so he’d simply have to get himself together before they got back. 

‘ might as well head back and face the music, yeah ??  besides, i bet dimitri would be more grateful for you saving my ass than anything else. ’ 

a moment of pause before he looks to yuri. 

‘ …thanks for that, by the way.  i’m lucky you were here. ’

A sigh and a shake of his head.  Why was it that all these men associated with Faerghus were so thick-headed?  He almost believed if he bashed Dimitri or Shez over the head with a bat they wouldn’t feel it.

At the suggestion of heading back to camp, though, he nodded.

“Fine.  It was getting rather dull out here anyway, now that we fought off our attackers.”  At the thanks, though, he paused.

“...well, that is the sort of thing you do for people you care about, or so I’ve been told.”

((In Yuri’s A support with Shez, he says that he has a few different names.  He probably has a different one his gang knows him by, for instance.  And he told Byleth in their support in 3H that Yuri is the name he took up when Count Rowe adopted him, so it’s pretty much the one that the church and academy know.

But like, he also says that only people very, very close to him can call him by his real name, because with every name comes a different mask and when you call him his real name, he feels like every single mask falls away and he’s Just Him.

Anyway I’m pretty sure only his mom can call him that by default but please I want him to actually get close to people and let them call him Regulus.  It would take a ton of effort but I think it would be worth it!))

despite all that  ,  shez feels  nauseous  still.  it’s  better  once the relief of healing magic washes over him  ,  but still ever present in the pit of his stomach.  he  groans  quietly when he moves  ,  feeling his stomach  churn  slightly  ,  but shaking it off nonetheless.

‘ i’ll be fine.  i’m not exactly a stranger to getting roughed up every now and then. ’ 

he’s quick to at  least  get himself off the ground  ,  various parts of his body  yelling  out in protest at the action.  it’s  fine  ,  &  certainly not anything he isn’t used to already. 

‘ and to answer your question, you aren’t holding up any fingers. ’

“Well, nice to know you like it rough.” Yuri took a step back from him.  If Shez was going to try to make stupid jokes, Yuri would send the same awful humor right back at him.  It was a defense mechanism at this point.  It had to be when you’d known Balthus as long as he had.

“Either way, good to know you’re not delusional.  But whether you’re used to being beat up or not, I had no plans on leaving you like that.  I don’t think His Royal High-Strung would take kindly to his commander being brought back to camp bruised and bloody from recon.  He might even try to blame me for it.”

((Actually regarding that, feel free to let me know if we actually find out who Shez’s adoptive mother is (the most context for her I have so far is Shez’s support with Ashe) but is it possible Shez’s mother was one of the Nabateans?  Originally I thought it might have been Patricia having exiled herself in the area or something but the timeline doesn’t really work if Shez is supposed to be about the lords’ age so -waves hand- this game answered so much and yet brought up so many more questions.))
