Louise Ingram Rayner (21 June 1832 – 8 October 1924) was a British watercolor artist. She lived in Chester in the Welsh Marches but travelled extensively, painting British scenes, during the summers in 1870s and 1880s. Her paintings are very detailed and highly picturesque populated street scenes capturing the “olde worlde” character of British towns and cities in the booming Victorian period.

In honor of my amazing mother, Beth, who passed away on August 17, 2014, I am going to draw, or paint something 5 days a week for one year and post it here.. She always wanted to be an artist, and my love for creativity stems from her.  I want to get better and Id love your feedback.   ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::VITA BREVIS ~ ARS LONGA.::::::::::::::::::::::::::::                                               (Life is Brief ~ Art is Long

I havent been on this space in months.  So much has happened.  We moved away from London, back to the deserts of Arizona and  I am expecting another baby.  I have been so busy setting up this new life, and dealing the the rest requirements pregnancy always inflicts on me, that I have had no interest or time for this space.  However, today, I felt the urge to update.
These crackle cookies (my Nana's recipe) have always been the sign of Christmas in my family.  I find them delicious when cooked to perfection, like tender little brownies, but a mere 30 seconds overdone and they are dry and tasteless.  They are quite finicky, but none the less worth it. Martha has a crackle cookie recipe here  and while it is vastly different from the one I use, it looks as though it yields the same results.
