Chloe, I found your photography about a year and a bit ago. I wanted to say thank you for creating this tumblr, because most photographers aren't willing to share the information that you do with us. My question is: How do you make your photos look so soft? They've got such a dreamy touch to them. Its something I aim to do, but can never achieve.

❤️! I think it’s mostly through lighting and just using film, I don’t use any special filters or even really set out to make them soft like that, it’s just the film grain and nice even lighting I think that helps

hey! I wanted to buy a rolleiflex camera but im not sure if you can shoot automatic with it or only manual? I wanted to ask u if you know which one is better: rolleiflex 3.5 or 2.8. also, would I always have to use a light meter with this camera?

Pretty sure it’s only manual, yeh you have to use a light meter with it. I don’t know which one is better, I think the one I use is a 3.5. Def worth getting though, and I just use a light meter app on my phone for it so nothing fancy

Hey, I’ve always shot on film but have recently entered into more risqué territory with it (just nudity, nothing extreme) and I was wondering what your experience with that has been? I know your work isn’t graphic but just because exposed breasts have been featured in your work I was wondering if you ever encountered difficulty in getting them developed? I’ve heard conflicting things about Boots (where I get my photos developed usually) and can’t find much on their policies

Hey, yeah I did actually have trouble with Boots one time, they almost didn’t give me my photos back because I didn’t have ID with me or ID of the person in the photos, they weren’t even nude I’m pretty sure it was pictures of Sylvie in a sparkly bra that was a bit see through at the beach, and they said because she looked so young they wouldn’t let me have the photos. I eventually argued back and said you can tell that these images are consensual because of how she’s posed and the rest of the roll etc and that she was of age, and they gave me the photos. But definitely not worth the hassle, have never had problems elsewhere like actual photo labs in London etc. Think Boots just try n cover themselves in case it’s anything predatory or whatever so I’d suggest going elsewhere to develop photos that are actually nude
