“I was completely content. I was relaxed and calm and happy existing in the current moment. I was surrounded by beauty and people that I felt comfortable with.”

“I would say that in that moment I was feeling thankful. The atmosphere of the place, with it being the new, semi-experimental flower garden at Charter House, was really hopeful!”

"Okay, expectant of what's coming up shortly in my life but also very relaxed and comfortable in the present moment. It was busy but not overwhelming, calm Sunday vibes, warmth and humidity slowed things down to an unusual leisurely pace, Father's Day made it more of a family scene”

“I was happy to have been able to hike that day since it was my first since I had arrived back at Middlebury. Also, being with friends, playing games, and eating snacks put me a good mood. It was one of those moments where you look around, see who is there and where you are, and there is nothing you can be but happy. We were some of the only people at the top, so it was serene. There was also a gorgeous sunset, which was the perfect way to end the day.”

"I think the DJ played like Magnolia or something else and I just went nuts I was like "OOOH LETS GOO" cause at that moment I was really feeling myself. I thought the atmosphere was reflective of how I felt, everyone else went nuts. The thing about music is if everyone likes the song then everyone kinda gets on the same level; you can connect with everyone even though you aren't really interacting with them"

"Tired; so energetic but I'm so tired. If that makes sense but the world doesn't make sense anyway. Lost in the atmosphere of chaos, positively not negatively."

"I had a pounding headache, but really enjoyed the vibrant vibes of the place with the whole wedding party and loud music. It was very new york as in it was loud, quick and an easy place to do some people watching."

"I felt indecisive. I'm practical so it's difficult to make decisions on a whim and I need to think about it. The atmosphere had chaotic loud but good music."

"I'm not gonna lie, I don’t remember what i was feeling, but I think it might have been either I don’t wanna go home or f*** I have a chinese exam in two days. The atmosphere was extremely comfortable, felt very at home with all my mates"

Introducing Hueristics!
Hueristics lets the colours and tones tell more about the person in the moment that picture was taken. This photo project captures people in their current states of mind and environment, then edits the colours to reflect what that person felt.
Here is the first picture!
“This was taken around the week before finals and I remember feeling happy in the moment but felt like there was some impending struggles which left an ominous aura in the air. I personally didn’t really feel as though I was actively there and felt somewhat invisible and boring. I didn’t really feel like I was in the mood and wasn’t meshing well with the whole setting.”
This is a long term photo project that is the result of years of experimentation with photography and colour, and after previous failures, I am proud to present Hueristics. It is my hope that I can have a new post every other Monday and in order to do so, I will need people to photograph so if you would like to be included in my project contact me on Facebook at Munya Ra Munyati, DM me on Instagram @thehueristics or email me at [email protected]. I will mostly be in and around the East Coast of the USA but will have time to travel and would love to get portraits of people everywhere I go!
