Hugh Gaughan is an active presence in the Forest Lake, Minnesota community who holds an assistant-leadership position with the construction firm Gaughan Construction. He helps manage complex projects and communicates with diverse stakeholders, from customers to superintendents. Hugh Gaughan’s responsibilities include soliciting bids and comparing proposals, as well as organizing documents related to contracts and Minnesota permits.
Mr. Gaughan maintains a strong commitment to the Forest Lake Catholic community. A longtime Church of All Saints member, he has served as altar server and thurifer. He has also participated in a number of special masses conducted by churches throughout the Twin City region and volunteered in efforts that helped distribute meals to local residents in need.
An outdoor enthusiast, Mr. Gaughan enjoys activities such as skiing, fishing, and motocross in his free time. A favorite activity is snowboarding, and he has traveled to locations with his family, from Snowmass to Aspen, in search of the perfect powder. He also regularly visits Twin Cities resorts such as Trollhaugen and took part in the 2013 American Birkebeiner ski race, which stands as the largest cross-country ski competition nationwide.

Drama at Chesterton Academy in Minnesota
An assistant construction project manager with a local Minnesota company, Hugh Gaughan studied construction project management at Purdue University and the Dunwoody College of Technology. Hugh Gaughan received his high school education at the Chesterton Academy in Edina, Minnesota, where he worked on the props and stage sets for the school plays.
Founded to offer a classical curriculum from a liberal arts standpoint, Chesterton Academy seeks to instill in its students an appreciation for beauty and virtue, forming them body, mind, and soul to promote a culture of life. As part of this mission, the school ensures that each student receives an equal education in the arts from drawing and painting to debate and drama.
The dramatic arts at Chesterton Academy allow students the opportunity to delve into the history, philosophy, and literature of the past. Through their participation in each production as actors or serving in other roles, they flesh out ideas learned in class, solidifying their understanding of the major forces throughout history leading up to the present.
Chesterton Academy follows a specific schedule of performances for its students. Sophomores delve into comedy, juniors perform in a drama, and seniors tackle Shakespeare.
