//After my favorite returning vets in Yoshi (BLUE YOSHI BREAKS THE GAME) and Charizard, these are my hyped-as-hell to play as newcomers. It may come as a shock to you that Greninja is my third-most-hyped. It came as a shock to me that Mega Man came in second. No character quite elevated my hype levels quite like Robin did, which is why he/she... whatever, ranks at first most hyped.

Mega Man comes in second because IT'S FUCKING MEGA MAN. HE'S BEEN MY HOMEBOY FOR YEARS. I'm finally happy with him getting the respect he deserves. It's just a shame its not from Capcom.

Greninja because I'm sure you know why. If you don't, Greninja is easily the best starter since Sceptile (in my opinion), and is a solid choice in the competitive scene with its amazing speed coupled with the Protean ability. People accuse Greninja of trolling people into thinking it was Mewtwo, but, seriously, if you played more than Gen I, you'd see that was clearly A STAR MADE OF WATER and not A BALL OF SHADOWS. I'm glad more generations outside of one is getting representation as there are a lot of us who still play the games today. (Hoping for some Sceptile DLC, as outside of a chance that is)

Duck Hunt Duo... When I first saw them through the leak, they could be either really great and hilarious or just a spit in the face. I am SO glad they came out as the former rather than the latter. That particular costume reminds me of my dogs, so I'll definitely be playing with that variation.

Shulk - not much to say other than he looks very technical, and that would be really fun. Same with Palutena. Besides, I loved her in Uprising. I just loved Uprising in general, which is why I am somewhat excited to play as Dark Pit/Pittoo, though there is a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth that he's a clone of regular Pit. ... I mean, yeah, I understand he actually is a clone of regular Pit, but, in Uprising, he really came into his own, and I consider them more like siblings than I do "original vs evil clone". -sigh- Oh well.

I never played Punch Out!, but I watched my cousins play the original one for the NES when I was small. Seeing Little Mac get some due representation, and seeing his awesome trailer, has me excited for him. I'm a little worried I won't be as good with him since I like characters with an air game, so that's why he doesn't place as high as others.

KOOPALINGS! I don't know about anyone else, but I am THRILLED they are getting more representation after a looooong period of mysterious absence. Though it seems they've retconed their relation to Bowser, I still believe they are his kids. Ludwig was always my favorite one, so, if and when I play them, Ludwig is my guy.

Wii Fit Trainer, or as I prefer to call them, Mrs. and Mr. Fit, are another one of those quirky fighters that you can hardly take seriously in the middle of a battle, and I loooove them for it. Everything they do is a yoga pose. Even hitting the camera is a yoga pose! That's freaking dedication! I don't know if I'll play as them much, but I'll be laughing internally the entire time I see them on the field of battle.

Not pictured - Rosalina. Shit, after I posted this, I realized I forgot to include her. My OCD wins again. Rosalina has been my favorite Mario character since her debut, taking Luigi's former spot (I don't really count Yoshi as Mario anymore). She's beautiful, strong, wise, and, despite my initial fear upon first seeing her, was more than a one-shot character. As indicated by her down special, she didn't just wait around for Mario to come back - she was actively helping him on the field by giving him star bits and was able to shoot and stun enemies with ones she can fire. In Galaxy 2, though she's the damsel in distress that time, she is shown to be resisting to the best of her ability. Not to mention being in the Mario Karts and now Mario Party and as a secret character in 3D World means Nintendo is aware of her popularity, and they're milking it for all its worth. I don't have a problem with it at all.

Greninja Original Series: Pokémon First Smash Appearance: Super Smash Bros. 3DS/U

Fuck this stupid frog! I’m sorry if you’re a Greninja fan and you’re excited for his inclusion. Not sorry because I’m in the process of insulting something you like, but sorry because you were clearly raised with terrible taste and have an IQ score low enough for me to count on my fingers. This Pokémon is NOT a Nintendo All Star as Smash Brothers is supposed to be. He is the third evolution of a generic new starter Pokémon, and one that isn’t even cool or cute (he uses his tongue as a scarf? Ew). He hasn’t appeared in multiple games (X/Y count as the same one) and his role in the one game he was in isn’t one based on story or one that receives any focus at all. Hell, he may barely even appear in the entire game if you don’t pick him!

They could have easily brought back an important Pokémon: Mewtwo. And they picked this thing instead? My disappointment knows no depths. My fury burns with the fiery passion of a thousand desert suns. The ONLY way I would be even slightly okay with the inclusion of Greninja is as a new team member for a new Pokémon Trainer or similar such character, alongside Charizard and a final evolution grass starter (who I had picked as Sceptile in my fantasy roster immediately after Greninja’s reveal).

I think it goes without saying …

A lot of weapons, knowing how to use them... and cool on top of it? Oh boy, Greninja was in trouble. Greninja resorted to groveling. It wanted to explain, but it lacked the ability to speak to people. "Gre ninja! Gre ninja! Gre ninja! Gre ninjaaaa-ha-ha!" It hoped it looked pathetic enough to not become a Kalos delicacy...

Who was the very pretty lady? Greninja silently observed her from a distance, trying to hide the building pink in its cheeks by using its tongue to cover more of its face.

"Something caught your eye, frog?" She spotted him way before he was observing her. She just really needed to see where he would go with it. Her gun on her shoulder, was pointed straight at him.

"Nin! Nin!" it pleaded before retreating onto a nearby balcony for cover. She may be pretty, but the inside of a gun-barrel wasn't. It stayed low and on guard in case she wanted to chase after it. Ninjas against guns don't usually favor the ninjas.

While it lacked a blanket, it was a cold-blooded creature, after all, it threw some leaves on the sleeping moo in hopes of keeping him warm. Greninja tended to not sleep until very late at night.

The ninja frog was trying to keep a low profile, silently observing the people coming to and fro. When a new human showed up, this one with white hair, the young woman caught more of the attention of the ninja frog. It tilted its head in curiosity and decided to focus more of its energies on observing her. Of course, that was difficult to do at its current location. It decided to crawl about to try and make its way toward the position of the cloaked human, hoping to avoid the unwanted gazes of other humans.

Not exactly. The good captain just exuded an oppressing and intimidating aura, not to mention the fact he was a fan favorite. Greninja was... well... "not Mewtwo" to the disappointment to many fans of the tournament. On top of all that, Falcon was a four-time veteran of the tournament while it was a newcomer to the competition. Things certainly weren't easy for the shy ninja-frog.
