The club room being where it was made it nice and private, which was good. The fact that unless the wind blew in the right direction that it was Way Too Hot in the summer, however, was not. So Chinatsu’s suggestion of going to do something or go to one of their houses since the others weren’t here was a really good one, as far as she was concerned.

“That’s a good idea, Chinatsu-chan… Akari doesn’t know where we could go, but anywhere that we can cool off would be better than here right now.” By ‘don’t know’, she really meant that she didn’t care where they went. Could be her house, could be Chinatsu’s house, they could even go visit someone or go to the pool or something. Just as long as wherever they went didn’t make it feel like they were going to melt.

Of course, why would she expect Akari to ever be decisive. The silly red head was basically up for anything or could be tricked into anything. Oh well, it was just up to Chinatsu to make the decisions in this pair. Akari’s home was the most obvious choice, however, after seeing Akari’s old sister’s unique obsession and mannerisms ...  she kind of wanted to avoid that.

“You know, scratch the thought of your place. Let’s go to my home. We have popsicle and, unlike your bad luck, my air conditioning is guaranteed to be working right now.” Not wasting a moment, she picked herself off the floor and lightly fanned herself before offering a hand to the other.

“If it wasn’t so hot, I would say we make a run for it, but I think that might be worse than walking in the heat.”

In stark contrast to Sakurako, Akari enjoyed doing homework! She wasn’t sure why exactly, but there was just something about it that made it hard to put down until it was finished. Though there were times that caused her to do exactly that, like when someone was talking to her. Like right now!

Putting her pencil down and turning to face her friend, she was about to agree to let the other do so, but remembered that the last time she did, Himawari got upset at both of them - her for letting Sakurako copy her answers, and Sakurako for taking advantage of her. So instead of agreeing, she shook her head.

“If she does, then Himawari-chan will get mad at us again… Akari can help you with questions that you’re stuck on, though!” That said, it probably wouldn’t take much to convince her to let the other see the work she’d already done.

Ugh, she thought to herself when receiving the good two shoes response. Akari was definitely not wrong and Sakurako knew full well that the boob demon would make her live to regret it, but her laziness spoke to her more than her will to avoid pain. Not to mention, her friend’s suggestion would literally mean her helping on every problem. Sakurako had completely spaced out these last few classes and had zero idea what she was looking at.

Actually that gave her a small idea on how she might be able to weasle her way out of this. She slyly looked at Akari with a smirk,”I haven’t really been feeling well enough to pay attention in class...” 

A momentary pause in what she was saying for added dramatic affect before continuing. “AH! I know!” Sakurako exclaimed while her balled up right hand met with the palm of her left hand. “You could teach me how to do each of these problems so that I can catch up! It isn’t cheating if you are just teaching me how these problems work, right?” 

Sakurako was banking on the nerd to just write out the work and all she would have to do was pretend to listen to the explanation. Genius!

Chika happily laid in bed with her head being cradled by her arms. The summer heat slightly making things too warm to be under her blankets, she absorbed the soft coolness at the top of her blankets. The digital clock’s led lights steadily changed to display ‘12:00am′. 

“I can’t believe all that I have done in this one year,” Chika let out a small contented giggle while reflecting. “In such a short time, I went from never being in a club and watching my friend do things to now being a leader of the school’s idol club.” It was a surreal thought considering how she had craved to find her calling and a thing that gave her passion. Even being the founder of the club, the persistent nerd didn’t have an ego. After all, the competitions that they had participated in showed that she wasn’t the best idol out there. Was it frustrating how much she and her friends struggled to receive so little recognition? Of course! 

“To be able to work towards a single goal and shine with all my new friends is the best.” Who cares if they hadn’t won huge awards and praise yet. What mattered most was the sense of accomplishing more and more with each attempt they made.

“We all have become one giant family. Everyone freely expressing themselves with one another... and none of us complaining of practicing during our breaks from school. I never felt so excited to be a part of something like this before.” From meeting a new friend with such talents as Riko to being able to hang out and do more with her best friend You, Chika couldn’t imagine a more perfect school life.

“Aaaaaaa!” The sudden realizing of the time snapped her out of her pensive thoughts. “I NEED TO GO TO BED RigHT NOw! TOMORROWS PRAC--” Her statement halted at the sense of her sister’s gaze upon her. 

“Ehh--- sleep... yes...practice tomorrow..ha ha..ha.” Not hesitating, she wrapped herself up and closed her eyes. She hopefully would see the rise of sunset, preferably alive.

     Soft blue eyes remain fixated on Chika as Yō watches from a few yards back. Even now, she hasn’t made her presence known; it doesn’t feel right, and Yō certainly knows better than to interrupt a ‘stroke of genius’. That aside, there was something oddly captivating abut the girl when she went on like this; it was what brought people together, after all.

     Still, if anyone was going to notice Chika Takami all by herself, it was Yō Watanabe and sure enough, here she was. Some of that was worry— things had been hectic since dreams of school idols took over everything and she knows how much of that burden fell on Chika.

     She was the leader, the inspiration, the energy. That came with its own pressures.

     After a moment or two, Yō finally approaches the girl, only to clap a hand on Chika’s shoulder once she’s close enough to allow it.

     “Sounds like someone’s getting pumped. Then again, not pumped enough to come up with lyrics apparently.” A grin pulls at the corners of her lips. “I was wondering where you ran off to though.”

“Oh, hi Yō-chan!” Chika exclaimed happily at the surprise visiter. Well surprise might be an overstatement with how she was so used to having Riko and Yō showing up randomly at these moments. Granted, the beach wasn’t the best place to avoid someone walking in on you. 

“Heh heh, you know me, I am not that good at coming up with lyrics until something just hits me.” She placed her hand behind her head in embarrassment before pivoting to look at her dear friend. 

“But that is besides the point! What do you mean ‘ran off to’.” Chika lightly narrowed her eyes while doing an air quote motion. Not the best attempt at making a silly lighthearted gesture, but she tried. “You of all people are impossible for me to hide from anyways. I would need to escape to Tokyo to even stand a chance.”

In her usual fashion and with only the slightest moment of hesitation, she look out at the ocean again slightly more seriously. “We have really come along way since it was just us two making the club, huh.”

Ruby flopped down on her bed as she let the cool touch of the sheet enveloped her. She had been practicing a few parts of her routine for the past thirty minutes which really exhausted her due to the summer heat. “I did my rubesty...” Inwardly she giggled at her silly use of her name again.  A lot had happened in what seemed a short time this year. After so long, she finally felt liberated of a weight over her in multiple ways. The yearning to relate to her sister and just discuss the newest things about muse and idols was finally something she could have once more. Even better, they were able to share further in the experience having both committed to being school idols. To ruby, it was a dream come true. 

“I wonder what onee-chan is up to.” Ruby lightly thought outloud while slowly stirring herself to sit upright on her bed. The excitement of talking to her sister about idols still seemed fresh and new. She scanned about the top of her drawers and decisively picked up one of the idol magazines that she had recently purchased.

Wasting no time, Ruby made her way to Dia’s room before knocking on the door of her sister. “Ummm ... onee-chan, mind if I come in?” The red head shyly requested while holding the magazine behind her back.

“You know, I still would like to do a thing with the entire student body.” She reflected on their last competition while happily looking out at the ocean. It made her so excited and elated that her fellow school mates came supporting them in mass numbers. Though that didn’t stop her feeling a tad disappointed that she couldn’t include everyone in the love live. The entire town getting a chance to shine and show what made their school great would of been nice. 

“Huh?” A sudden stroke of inspiration occurred to her. “That’s it! We could do a PV that included everyone and some of the sites of the our town!” Unlike any competition, PVs didn’t have any limitations, right? She would have to pitch the idea with the group, of course, but chances were no one would be opposed to it.  “I will have to think of lyrics for this, won’t I?” That was a rheorical question since the moment her idea was approved, Riko was definitely going to ask for the lyrics. “Oh well, I will get to those.” Chika casually shrugged it off for something she would do later. Yes, she was going to procrastinate on lyrics again. Inspiration would hit her eventually, right?

As the waves calmly crashed against the beach, Chika couldn’t help but keep smiling at the thought while reminiscing on all that they had accomplished thus far.
