It still gives me awe and wonder that this little carnivore sitting beside me has come to trust me so much he will let himself fall entirely to sleep with his back turned to me. That he knows a hand coming his way is a thing to be welcomed and not feared. That even now as he's purring his fuzzy little head off, he is staring at me waiting for the hand to return.
He's even less resistant to the comb these days. Mellowing with age, maybe, but he seems to have figured out that letting me use it more often means we don't have to pull and tug if he hides from it for too long.
He has his own opinions and a strong will. And that, I think, makes it all the more meaningful that he will actively choose my company.

It is exceedingly hard to just leave this cat alone and not snuggle the stuffing out of him when he's curled up asleep. He's so cute. But I must not touch. Must not touch the sleepy. But he is RIGHT THERE.
