Midtests
well.
The first two days of the midtest went on smoothly for me. I thought that that’s how the rest of the midtest days are going to go for me.
But nope.
Life is not constant, it’s a rollercoaster.
Because the next days of the midtests went on like craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
There were really hard topics on subjects that I dislike and it really burdened me. But I’m not complaining at all, neither do I feel like I chose the wrong pathway, because recently other students from different pathways had been trying implying that my pathway is a waste of time. I don’t know if that’s what they really mean but I was just trying to learn and do my best for the test and there they were, shooting criticism on my decision. I mean, I wasn’t even complaining in the tiniest bit at all about the hard subjects!
But yeah, I know every now and then that people are going to shoot criticism and I should cope with it. Criticism is either going to break me or make me. But I won’t let it break me, afterall, it’s just negative comments and people do have the right to say what they think. It’s their opinion afterall, and I have my own opinion as well.
As for the English midtest,  I thought that there were a lot of questions, and I feel like there were plenty of time to do it, so I ended up wasting my time by doodling over the questions. Which leads me to not giving my best effort on the test. I should’ve used those doodling time to do the bonus part, but, oh well. What’s done is done and I’m not regretting over my poor decisions.
I just hope that all of my other tests will run smoothly and I will get the best results out of it because I really did learn to the fullest each and every night for the midtest.

review review review
Well the title can speak for itself........
It’s reinforcement week in school, and we’re all preparing for the upcoming midtests. I usually got kind of stress in these kind of week, but luckily this time I don’t feel that way. I don’t really feel the pressure of the tests, not really sure why though.
English class was pretty much like the title ; review. Mrs. Fajri presented us with a slideshow which covers all the topics for the midtest. There are more or less seven topics which are included in the midtest. Although it may seem like much, I just take it easily and the slideshow really helped. But before the review, we had to present our advertisement in front of the class. I think that my classmates agree with our PSA, that we need to use our smartphone less.
We also started practicing for the cabaret bit by bit for the upcoming Hari Sumpah Pemuda. I was the scriptwriter and I really liked what I came up with. The script really defines me ; it’s quirky, and contains corny jokes. The practice was really fun and I get to create some choreographies (even if I can’t dance). I really am excited for the cabaret.
Maybe that’s why I’m feeling so calm about the upcoming midtests. It’s because I can’t wait for everybody in my class to make my script to come to life. Thank God for cabaret. I think I need cabaret all the time so that I can take things in life with ease.

Deutsch Wettbewerb
The title for this blog post is actually the name of the competition that I joined in.
Remember a couple of weeks ago, I said that I was having headaches over drilling for a competition about Germany? Well, it was time for the competition, and I was barely prepared for it. I was quite nervous when we arrived at the location. But the opening ceremony was entertaining and it put my mind off the worriness for a bit.
Back in English class however, we studied about advertisement. Again, we were divided into groups, but it consists of the same students like in the last project. Our advertisement needed to consist a sentence using rhetorical device and some sort of a tagline. We decided to make an advertisement about smartphones. Almost everybody from different ages nowadays use and have a smartphone, but more often than not, they are not aware about their surroundings as they are paying more attention to their smartphone. Our advertisement turned out to be eye-catching, it’s colorful and I personally like it. Then we had to present it in front of the class. Many students in my class agreed on our advertisement ; that we should use smartphones less.
The German competition however, ended quite well for me. Although I did not win the first place, I managed to go through the semi-finals. I personally think that it’s a big win for myself. Because hey, not everybody remembers every state alongside their capital city in Germany, don’t they?

I AM 16
ITS OFFICIAL
IM 16!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For my birthday, my family surprised me with a birthday cake, just right after we had breakfast. I was in shock because they never surprised me with one. My friends gave me some special gifts too, which I thought were really thoughtful and unexpected.
Anyways, days before just my birthday, we learned about rhetorical devices. It’s personally an interesting topic for me, as it is one of my favorite topics that I learned back in elementary school. The topic covers on hyperbole, simile, metaphor, and my personal favorites: oxymoron and rhetorical question. Those two subtopics are my favorite as it’s a paradox, and also a part of sarcasm. It makes me feel smart using them. We were divided into groups and told to make a mindmap on the topic. My group’s mindmap was displayed on the board so that’s kind of something.
A day after my birthday, there was a gathering with the new and old OSIS in Kebun Raya Bogor. They shared their experience and told us what not to do as well as what to do, and also some really beneficial stuffs. The atmosphere was really great too. It was hot, but the wind managed to blew off the heat.
To sum it up, it was a really great week. My family and friends managed to make my birthday really really special. It was a sweet 16 indeed, and I really hope that their kindness will soon be repayed with a greater act of kindness.

Overwhelmed
my thighs are still killing me.
please send help.
The first day of the week started with a morning excercise session during the I Repulse Love Monday. Wasn’t really excited about that though, honestly.
But I cannot believe that it is now September. Only 11 days until my buuuuurrrtthhday! I can’t lie, I am excited for it, but I’m trying to hide my excitement. I am using the word excited a lot because I REALLY AM excited and I should stop using excited to hide my excitement.
Excitedception.
The rest of the week went on pretty normal for me though. Nothing special really happened but I am pretty overwhelmed because of the drilling for an upcoming German competition which will be held in Universitas Indonesia. The competition is about the German culture. The drilling is basically a crash course on that topic. From the traditional clothes, mountains, historical monuments, churches, states along with their capital city, you name it. It was overwhelming because I had never learned about this before, and the competition is just 16 days away. I don’t know my own country’s state along with their capital cities let along other people’s country. There are also a lot of formatives that I had, which includes the English formative. Personally for me it wasn’t that hard, except for writing the wishes and hopes part. It was quite confusing because I didn’t quite get the terms that was inquiered.
On Friday there was a short meeting with Bu Wati, regarding about the Student Lounge. The student lounge is basically a spot for the students who are waiting for clubs and afterschoool practices. From what I understand, it is too, indirectly, a system to make the students stop going to the nearby stall. She was asking our (OSIS) opinion on what to be included in the student lounge. The lounge will be filled with educational games and there will also be a stand which sells food. When we voiced out our opinions, it seemed like the student lounge is such an effective way and will work really well. But let’s just see how it will work out in the end.

Exhausting week
This time on English class we had to write a persuasive speech about anything we want, and then we should speak it out loud in front of the class. The topic that I chose was “Examinations don’t determine the smartness of students”. I personally think that I delivered my speech well. My classmates also brought up interesting topics, even though some I may not agree with. But hey, that’s the point of this topic right? It’s about speaking up your opinions.
ANYWAYS.
MY THIGHS ARE KILLING ME
Why, you may ask?
After going through an interview with the new president and vice president of the student council, I was chosen to be in student council, but it means that I had to go through LDKS, which stands for Latihan Dasar Kepemimpinan Sekolah. Year by year, it is usually held in school, where all of the participants must stay over and will be given a series of activities that will build their teamwork and confidence. But this year, LDKS has a breakthrough, because it is held in Gunung Bunder. Which means that I had to pack my camping gears up. We were told in the briefing that there were some basic rules that we should obey. Some of which includes:
Using formal language
No laughing
No gadgets allowed
Greeting all of the committee holding this event
On Thursday after school, the 33 of us were all set to go. We got lost a couple of times so we reached our destination around 9 pm.  After cooking dinner, the activities goes on. We, as participants were being yelled at for multiple reasons and the committee was mad at us. They revised everything that we did that day, including the mistakes that we had done.  But I have kept in the back of my mind that this is for our own good and I should just take it easy.
The next day of LDKS, the committee were taking things easier. Yes, they did still yell at us but they acted more friendly. We knew that something was up. And indeed, something happened that night. We went trekking in an activity called Uji-Proker, where we will be asked a series of questions along the way, regarding to the work programs that we have made. Unfortunately, we keep on answering the questions incorrectly and of course, this made the committee really furious. After that activity, we were gathered in the middle of a cold night where they yelled and got vexed at us because none of us in the beginning had the courage to stand up for ourselves. The night ended at them being frustrated at us and things got really emotional.
We slept at 2 am but was awoken at 3 am unpleasantly by the committee. We were told to form a line of 3 and close our eyes. Then, we were brought to a field and when we were told to open our eyes, there was this big banner saying “Good luck OSIS 2015-2016″. The committee then apologized for their mistakes and we all hug it off.
On the last day, we went trekking again, but this time we went to a waterfall. It was a quite a long trek, but for me the waterfall wasn’t quite worth it. However, we took some photos and the atmosphere was fun.

Overall, the LDKS was a fun and unforgettable experience. There isn’t a thing that I would want to change from this event even if the aftermath was me being exhausted as hell.
When I came back from the LDKS, I got to meet my brother, and it’s also his birthday, YAAAAYYYYY! My family and I surprised him with a Cheesecake, his favorite. I was so happy to be back home because I get to eat my ultimate comfort food: Rice, chicken, and sambel. I was tired indeed, but the feeling of gratitude inside of me was undeniable.

Moving Out
This week on English class we studied about Opinion. I personally think that it is almost the same as the suggestion and offer topic, because it is basically voicing out your preference but the only difference is one is more of an advice, while the other is more of a preference. The phrases that we learned on this topic is also quite as same as the suggestion and offer topic. There was a worksheet about it, where we had to interview our classmates, asking their opinions about the regular things like favorite tv show or actor.
ANYWAYS.
Question of the week :
"Who are you voting for the next student council president?"
The answers may vary and suddenly I can feel the situation turn into a friendly competition. It was just a number of days until the last debate and a couple more days until the election.
But first of all... HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY INDONESIA! Although nationwide it’s celebrated on the 17th of August, the school celebrates it on the 18th. In the ceremony, I was on duty making sure that all the students were fine. Sadly, there were a lot of students who cannot stand the heat and nearly faint.

Independence day ceremony.
For the last 2 debates, I was told that I would be given a flag so that it would be easier to notify the candidates about the remaining time. I don't know what is it with me and flags but I WAS SO HAPPY knowing that I would be given a flag, I actually dreamed about the upcoming debate and me waving my flag happily to the candidates. Call me childish but I was that happy.
On election day, it was decided that candidate number 1, Raihan and Rafsya won the election! They won with a total of 125 votes.
On Sunday, my brother left for college and will be staying at a new home with 2 of his friends so the distance between him and his college wouldn’t be too far away. He is going to take Information Technology as his major. Being only 2 years apart from him, I know in the back of my mind that I will miss him. How could I not? Apart from all the fights and misunderstanding that we have, I grew up with him and we almost did everything together.

Since both of my parents were busy helping my brother moving out, I was at home taking care of my brother and grandpa. I had no helper or assistants as my parents wanted me to be independent and not relying on others for doing simple house chores. My parents were gone by 11 so  I made salad for lunch with boiled eggs and you should admit that it’s one of the most flawless boiled eggs.

Look at that beauty!!!!!!!!! #proud
While for dinner I cooked a stir fry of carrots, mushroom and ground beef. I was actually quite happy to be in charge of the house, so I get to feel what it’s like to be my mother, working an endless job. It was tiring but on the other hand it was fun because I cooked almost the entire day, and yes I really do enjoy cooking and I wish to open my own restaurant one day.
Until next time!

INSPIRASEAN = SO MUCH FUN
Starting the week, I feel like everybody has important things up on their plate and didn't leave a space for me. Perhaps it may be just me who feels a bit left out but I try to remove all the negative feelings aside and approach it with a more positive attitude. However, lucky for me, the lessons I learned at school was easy for me to digest. Even physics was easy and it was actually kind of hard to believe. English class was going at ease too. For the third and fourth week of school, (can’t believe school’s been going on for a month now!) we studied about wish and hope. I used to think that both were the same thing but they’re not! The difference between them is that what follows "I hope" must be a possible, but unknown, situation, and what follows "I wish" must be counterfactual and, if a wish for the future, must be something you have no control over. Pretty confusing but I still get it.
On Wednesday, I was busy preparing for the first debate for the candidates of the student council. My task in the debate was to be a 'timer' for the candidates, so they would know how much time they had left to answer the question. People might think that it's such a silly and easy task, but honestly I feel so happy doing it. I know, I know, I do really get excited by the little things.
After the first ever intense debate, there was no studying at all but instead there was a workshop or some sort with INSPIRASEAN held by the students in Asia Pacific University, Japan. The workshop took 3 days so it means there was absolutely no learning in those 3 days YAY! I thought it would be boring and just full of slides and endless presentation. But once again, I was deceived by myself! The workshop was soooooooooo fun! It was filled with many games, but also filled with entertaining presentations to make us more aware of other ASEAN countries. The only downside of this event was that it’s held in the MPH and the heat inside was undeniable. The students that held this event came from a variety of ASEAN countries. They also shared their cultural background by wearing their traditional clothes on the last day of the workshop.

That is me and Mayuko, one of the PA from the workshop. Please don’t mind my face hehe.

Hi there!
As an English assignment, I must write a blog post every 7 days to summarize the things I had done that week. So here you go, my first ever blog post. I hope you find my regular-and-not-so-interesting-life entertaining!
The first day of actual learning in school wasn't what I expected. I thought I would dread myself as I walk down the halls but it's exactly the opposite of what I thought it would be! For a Monday, school was fun. I mean it when I say fun because we started the day by learning physics- a subject that I can't seem to find the point of learning it up until now- in the morning- I am also not a morning person-.
In midweek, I was pretty caught up preparing for the upcoming election as i was in the KPUS, which stands for Komisi Pemilihan Umum Sekolah. It is basically a committee that is in charge of the election for the new student council. We learned about  suggestion and offer in english class. Phrases like “What do you think about....” and “Do you want to....” are often used during this lesson. I find it to be easy and this lesson somehow also teaches us about manners and being polite.
On Saturday, I went to Kelapa Gading for my piano lesson. For somebody who lives in Cibubur, Kelapa Gading is pretty far away. Although the distance might be an issue at times, I still take my piano lesson there because I have gotten so used to my teacher as I had been taking my piano lesson with her since the 2nd grade.
Overall, it was a normal week for me. Nothing particularly stands out in my week but it was a pretty good week afterall.
Catch me next time on the next week!
