Actually, you'd probably sound like more of a freak if you were all nonchalant and certain. You're a person, not like an android or a robot or something, which means it's normal for things to be weird, confusing, and yeah, freaky. 

You know what I think? No matter how identical you might be to someone or multiple someones, no matter how many memories or traits you have in common, no matter how many people they can fool into thinking they're you...they're not. I mean, if a clone has to pretend to be you, even if he does it real well, it's just that -- pretend. As in faked, not natural, not real, because he is different.   

And for the record, I definitely would choose you any day over a clone who doesn't talk, one who called me the "insecure twin" and insulted my snogging skills, and even one who is super positive. 

[Did she really just…make a joke? He became vulnerable, very briefly, with her..and she was making a joke? Immediately some of the things his clone said rushed through his head. “She knows that you’re down here somewhere..so why hasn’t she come looking for you?” “I guess she just sees you as that bloke she songs and gives her the answers on her homework.” “She obviously doesn’t care for you like she says she does.”

No. He shook his head. He wasn’t going to let that clone get to him like this.]

Yeah, I really didn’t think that much about that. I guess I thought that you had my clones to keep you company. At least, that’s what he was telling me. Which I guess makes sense because we’re all the same person and it’d be impossible to tell the difference and- [He stops, realizing that what he saying, isn’t making any sort of sense whatsoever.] I probably sound like some sort of freak right now.

I mean, there's also this thing with Michael but that's not it. I had to deal with that whole Snake-Sally-Smith thing, and it was just...the worst bit isn't even that. You remember me telling you about when the same thing happened earlier in the year with Anthony Goldstein's clone? Except that time I killed it and it's all I can think about anymore.

We know all this stuff now that we didn't at the time, you know? I feel proper awful about it now.

Yeah, they’ve always been impulsive like that. [She frowns slightly at Parvati’s words and pulls her into a tight hug] What happened this morning Parv?

[feels more than a little insulted and upset by his question. what kind of semi/quasi/unofficia girlfriendl/whatever-they-were did he take her for?]  

If you don't want to talk about it, that's okay. I understand -- you are speaking to the girl who considers reading through old issues of Witch Weekly and throwing an extra hour into my hair "dealing with it," remember? [smiles like she is making a joke, except come to think of it, she really isn't] 

And of course I was worried about you. Do you really think I wouldn't be?

You were? [In typical Michael fashion of choosing what he hears, he is referring to her saying that she was worried about him. He voice sounds almost childlike, and it’s probably the most vulnerable he’s ever let himself get with anyone. It catches him off guard.]

[And then he catches himself, and forces himself out of whatever that just was *cough* actual emotion *cough*] I erm- yeah. I’m fine.

Oh, well...yeah, I did. There's been blood on the moon recently, plus your psycho clone gives me the creeps, even when he's pretending to be normal. [looks over at him a bit nervously, not wanting to tell him about the time she ran into said clone] Are...are you alright? I was really worried about you.  

[Nods and continues walking along with her]

[Clears his throat] I guess there’s not really a way to ease in to this, but I rem- you knew that none of those copies were me these past couple of weeks, right?

Oh yeah, always. Must just be me then today. 

[starts to walk towards the entrance hall, a little more quickly than she might've normally, being eager to escape the Great Hall and hopefully the awkward silence] I know, I am so grateful for springtime -- means it's almost summer. Maybe some sunshine will be a good mood booster. 

Me? Oh, I’m always sociable. [grins slightly]

Outside, yeah, that sounds great. It’s really starting to warm up out there.

Seems like neither of us are at our most sociable today.[throws him a half-smile] Er, the weather's moderately nice today, surprisingly. We could head outside?

[Stands up] Yeah. Yeah, that sounds better than this. [waves his hand at the table, indicating sitting there in silence]

I kind of feel sorry for your parents, cavorting off to France with a bunch of crazy clones. But I'm really glad you'll be sticking around; I really don't know what I'd do without you. 

Like, there's nobody else who can make me feel a thousand times better after one of the worst mornings ever without even really doing anything. I couldn't live without you either! 

One of the Rose's, the one who is still my same old sister, is looking into staying with Tamsin or one of her other friends. I mean France is beautiful and lovely and safe for now, but who knows how long it will be that way. I'd rather stay here with my best mates because I couldn't live without you.

They want to take you all to France?! [tries to keep her voice down but the initial shock makes gets the better of her] Sorry. That sounds aces, I'm glad you figured out a way around it. What about Rose, though? 

[Keeps her voice low] Well I got this letter from my parents a few weeks ago and they’d gone all mental. They said they were taking me, Rose, and all our clones to France and we were going to go to Beauxbatons next year. But Ron and I have come up with a plan to keep me here. We’re going to get a cheap flat somewhere this summer and it’s going to be awesome. You can visit anytime you need a break from your parents.

[vaguely notices Michael sit across from her, and at first doesn't really act like it because she is not in the mood to deal with any of his clones -- she hasn't seen the "right" him in a while, after all. But when he doesn't say anything, she looks up, thinking it might actually be him] 

   ...Hey. [has no idea what to say about anything right now, but takes a deep breath and starts anyway] I know my hair is looking very nice today, but not stunning enough to render anyone speechless. 

[Sits down in front of her wordlessly. This is the first time he’s seen her in weeks, but he can’t figure out what to say. He wants to be angry with her, mostly just because he wants to be angry with someone. She couldn’t have known that he was gone or where he was, though. That isn’t her fault. Maybe she had been duped by his clone like Terry had. Or maybe she had been running around with the perky one, he was probably more pleasant anyway, right?]
