I'm sure most people have experienced this but I was just reminded of how much it always sucks when you're used to a particular environment/culture (whether it's work, a tv show, a friend group, or a cafe you like), and then some new thing barges in to completely disrupt it all in an objectively bad way.

A lot of the time, you try to adapt and hang on for a while, but most of the elements you used to enjoy get drowned out or disappear entirely. And you realize that the original environment has been so completely taken over and changed by the new thing that it doesn't actually exist anymore. 💩
