i do enjoy "living weapon" characters but specifically living weapons who did in fact do absolutely horrific things which at least a part of them enjoyed and thought was good and right at the time, and that no amount of not knowing any better or guilt they feel in hindsight will ever make up for. i love living weapons who are "irredeemable", and no it's not their fault that they were made that way or pointed in the directions they were by the hand that wielded them, and yes they are victims, but so were their victims. living weapons who some people will never be able to forgive, but who still wake up every day and try to do better than what's expected of them. a sword that uses its blade to cut wheat to make bread for the people who once lived in fear of its arc falling on their heads.

and the two characters who took over my brain for a few years

both jaspers fusions have double legs as the main feature. a fusions double features are a result of the participants individuality in the fusion. for example, ruby and sapphire have different vision so they keep their eyes separate. when lapis wanted to look one way and jasper the other, malachites face started splitting in two. the fact jasper keeps her legs means theyre somehow important to her. maybe she was unable to compromise on where to go with the participants, or maybe where she goes is the only way she expresses her individuality, doing everything else on auto pilot. she doesnt think on what to do after all, she just does what she is supposed to. or maybe her legs are just strong and she likes to have them as a weapon, to stomp and kick, which she does alot

#so true #jaspers the type to watch animal planet but just for the predators winning and she throws a fit whenever its small guys not an elk or orca #shes faking/exaggerating it a bit bc she wants to associate with cool big animals but she also feels good when a small animal has a win #if it was framed as the main character #she does not think objectively #she strikes me as a person who takes the narrative theyre given and suffers from it rather than taking a step back #but yknow. its good for watching tv #or is it.. #if jasper made a list of top 10 animals it would be like rhino moose orca tiger lion shark hippo jaguar bear wolf #she would be one of those annoying people that talks to you about how they should let pandas go extinct already💀

not my usual posts, but i am just curious. why do people paint jasper as the abuser in japis, when it was mostly lapis who abused jasper in their fusion? she never cared about helping steven in that moment; she wanted someone to feel the same pain she felt for years when she was trapped in the mirror. of course, jasper isn’t entirely innocent as she grabbed lapis by her ankle and degraded her quite a bit, but she never forced lapis into the fusion like some people claim. she only brought up validating points to convince lapis to fuse with her whereas lapis forced jasper to remain in the fusion even after jasper tried to escape more than once.
