A quick sketch I did of Jean and Elodie in her duck dress while listening to All of the Stars and thinking about these two hurt me so unbelievably much. I can simply not describe to you how awful it is that he lost her without knowing, probably to people who were just as cruel as the ones he ended up with… I bet Jean was such a wonderful older brother and the both of them deserve the entire fucking world.

I can’t get over the fact that Stuart referred to “dead” being a “a mild term for it” when he talks about Elodie’s death.

Like I know it could just be a figure of speech, but what if he meant what he said?

What does it suggest?

That her death was not the worst thing that happened to her? Or was her death so gruesome that saying she just died wouldn’t be doing the act justice?

cannot stop thinking about how, from jean’s pov, neil is a Creature. an insane little man. jean expresses physical attraction or at least physical appreciation towards many of the characters in this book, and despite the foxes’ insistence that neil is good looking, to jean neil is always just… a weird and slightly unsettling presence. a strange and arrogant creature with no leash on him. an uncanny force of nature.

i keep thinking about jean’s POV of riko going to hit neil.

in aftg, neil is so focused on riko coming down with his racket to hit him that it seems like andrew comes out of no where to save him but i love that jean sees it. and it’s not like he just moves out of goal or anything, no, he HAULS ASS to get to neil to save him. that to me says everything. i love them so bad
