Research
Rhads Chebokha
David Stenbeck
Researching clouds as an addition for my poster, I found these two artists which both use clouds in their work but their style is completely opposite. I really like Steinbeck’s work and how the clouds are a neon colour

Lara Lars, collage artist from Madrid. I was fascinated by the work of Lara, and again how she used mountain-scape images for backgrounds of her collages and trees etc

I love Magdiel Lopez’s work, the colour choice that he uses are beautiful, his work also includes nature sources such as mountains and forests etc which I am including in my project. The colour choice of his work has inspired me and I’d like to included this in my work for my final poster design

For my project I was focusing on reflections in mirrors, I found this poster designed by Manya and although it was very different from what I had been originally researching I really liked the layout of the poster and how the faces were looking away from one another. What really stands out to me the most about this work was all the patterns included around the woman, there was use of feathers which I liked as I am focusing on the nature side of things as well as reflection

ARTIST STATEMENT • For this project ‘story’ I began to research stories, poems, quotes and movies that I had an interest in and that had close meaning to me. I decided on looking at Greek mythology as it was an intertest to me from a young age. I chose the story “Narcissus and Echo”. • This story doesn’t have a pleasant ending so I decided to change the ending, making it a positive ending for Echo. Instead of her leaving and becoming heartbroken she decides to start her journey of self-love. I began to research colour palettes and thumbnails in preparation for my project. • I decided to focus on the mountain/woodland setting of the story and Echo. I also researched quotes related to self-love to use for a poster. I created some patterns in which I then turned into digital drawings on my iPad using Procreate. • I explored different fonts and layouts for a poster until I found the right one. I also used a photo of myself which I turned into a digital drawings and created a new colour palette inspired by the 70’s but ensured to still include colours relating back to Echo and the mountain and woodland scenes. • I started to place the image over the different patterns to see which one suited best and which background made the image stands out more and include all information required.

Focusing on the mountain/woodland/forest setting I created a colour palette related to that and also a colour palette inspired by echo. I then started doing some thumbnails
I explored different patterns, the mountains, water, tree bark and echo’s. I started to plan typography layouts for a poster design
I explored different fonts on ‘da fonts.com” and picked ones which I thought would relate best to my project

For this project “story” I explored several areas of interest, the one the stood out to me the most was Greek mythology stories, I picked three I’d like to explore and decided to go with the story of Narcissus and echo, although it isn’t a pleasant story and doesn’t have a happy ending I wanted to change it and create my own ending, instead of Echo becoming heart broken which eventually led to her death, she decided to forget about Narcissus and start her journey down the pathway of self love where she starts to learn about appreciating herself and loving herself. I printed out the story to pick out key points which led to my mood board that I created

Mark making and paper collage - Ceramics
Using ink and materials I found in my room I create these marks.
After attending the ceramic workshop yesterday I made a viewfinder and took pictures of different areas of the mark makings. I particularly liked these too so decided to use these images for paper collages.
I used a scalpel and tore the paper to make these collages. I like how they turned out, they would make interesting patterns on a clay surface
