Present day Tijuana Mexico
"So you liked the idea of being kidnapped by a man you knew who was involved in a cartel all because of your parents 'ways?" The journalist stared at Rosario bewildered on why everyone would plan their kidnapping of her.
"Yes I did. Man I don't understand why my parents wanted me to marry an abusive man and move to a completely different country leaving everything I know. I wasn't going to let this happen and I knew about Rafa and his ways but to me it was better than being married to Ryan." Rosario explained smoking her cigarette in her hand. The journalist was still not certain what to think but she agreed to her head.
"That's why I'm here." Rosario grinned.
Years before
โ€œยฟEstรกs loco? ยกChicas, no podรฉis hacer eso!โ€ Salma whispered yelled at her. Rosario was explaining her and Sofiaโ€™s wild plan to Salma. It was already organized and if it goes well nothing bad would come out of this.
โ€œNo, no estoy loco. Sofรญa y yo haremos esto esta noche.โ€ Rosario clarified smiling at herself in the mirror. Salma shook her head and stood up snatching the brush away from Rosario.
โ€œYou canโ€™t get involved with a man like that. I thought you were just kidding at the wedding not being serious with that.โ€ Salma shouted the irritation was clear with Rosarioโ€™s face. She knew it wasnโ€™t the easiest thing to understand, but she couldnโ€™t take another day with Ryan or living this new life.
โ€œSalma. I know I love you now youโ€™re being paranoid. I canโ€™t take another day with Ryan learning how to speak another language. I canโ€™t even move away from home to start a different chapter. And Iโ€™m not planning on getting involved in the business either is Sofia. Weโ€™re just going to see Rafa not becoming his drug lord wife or something like that. Iโ€™m not ever going to do that so please calm down and understand where my situation is coming.โ€ Rosario smiled holding on to Salmaโ€™s hand. Salma sighed and looked away nodding her head. She wanted to support her best friend in any way as possible regardless of how this kidnapping was going to turn out.
โ€œBut you only promise to come see me?โ€ Salma laughed handing the lipstick back to Rosario who jumped up and down in excitement. Nothing was wonderful than having your best friend by your side supporting every step in you.
โ€œOf course Salma. Promise you wonโ€™t tell anyone especially the police or my parents?โ€ Rosario whispered quietly so that her parents donโ€™t hear their conversation.
โ€œI wonโ€™t tell anyone. I canโ€™t believe youโ€™re getting kidnapped by some narco that we just met.โ€ Salma chuckled handing a cigarette to Rosario. She couldnโ€™t believe it all she had to do was dressed up nice for the Christmas party and act all happy with Ryan until Rafa came in to โ€œkidnapโ€ them.
โ€œMe either. But Iโ€™m definitely gonna be fine and finally free for the time of my life.โ€ Rosario smoked her cigarette falling back into bed. It felt like her and Sofia got everything under control. She was finally getting ready to make her own decision.
โ€œI canโ€™t wait to see your face on the news looking all gorgeous while the handsome narco named Rafa is terrible who steal two sisters from a Christmas party.โ€ The two best friends burst into laughter. Rosario couldnโ€™t help but filled thrilled for tonight but also nervous knowing that anything bad couldโ€™ve happened. But again Rosario was all about taking chances which came to her future.
โ‹†โ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโœงโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ‹†
Later that night
Rosarioโ€™s hands were shaky carrying her glass of champagne. She couldnโ€™t believe she would be doing this for the first time since her sister brought up the plan she was having second thoughts. Was she really ready to just go for it? She was never the rebellious type and now she was doing the worst thing she could ever do to her parents. She knew her father would try his hardest to get his two daughters back but she knew it was either pretend kidnapping or having to marry and live with Ryan for the rest of her life.
โ€œIsnโ€™t it beautiful?โ€ Ryan spoke turning up to face Rosario. She faked a smile and nodded her head. She didnโ€™t have any interest in the kids singing Christmas carols all she cared about what was going to happen.
โ€œAre you feeling okay?โ€ Ryan pulled her away from her family to speak in private. Rosario looked at him and then to the door where Sofia stood next to her suitor where her parents wanted to marry.
โ€œIโ€™m okay.โ€ Rosario answered sipping on her tequila.
โ€œCome here and give me a kiss.โ€ Ryan smirked leaning down to kiss Rosario. She turned away and laughed before walking off. There was no way she would kiss him tonight and she was more comfortable being rebellious in front of her parents since it didnโ€™t matter.
โ€œI think I heard Sofia calling my name. I better go check to see what she wants.โ€ Rosario lied walking over to Sofia who was already making her way downstairs.
โ€œWe need to talk.โ€ Rosario grabbed Sofiaโ€™s hand as the choir kids began to make their way inside the house.
โ€œWhat is it?โ€ Sofia asked glancing over at her parents who stared curiously at their two daughters.
โ€œYouโ€™re sure you want to do this? Because once we do our names will be in the media especially on the news. And not to mention Rafa are you okay with him?โ€ Rosario whispered to Sofia.
โ€œI brought this plan up so of course Iโ€™m ready to do this. I canโ€™t take this anymore with you having to move away with Ryan. And Rafa is gonna help us by doing us a favor since I love him.โ€ Sofia responded shaking the red wine in her glass.
โ€œOkay good. Itโ€™s almost time just keep doing what youโ€™re doing.โ€ Rosario said walking off to where her parents remained. Sofia stood there thinking for a second. She knew that going along with the kidnapping was practically a crime and for that reason it made her feel nervous.
โ€œCome here Rosario.โ€ Ryan shouted across the room. She nodded her head walking back into the room where children laughed and played, the adults conversed one another, and where Rosario and Sofia kept a secret about what was going to happen to tonight.
โ€œCalifornia is a beautiful state. Youโ€™re going to love it, it had a lot of beaches and amazing cities that we can go to.โ€ Ryan was talking to Rosario who was clearly out of boredom. She didnโ€™t give a damn about anything that he was saying it was all meaningless to her but finally to Rosarioโ€™s surprise a gunshot was heard throughout the entire house. Even through Rosario knew the kidnapping was going to be something crazy like the sound of the gunshot still scared her. She hurried down to her knees looking over at Sofia who smiled at her. They had to use the little to no acting skills they had to pull this properly.
โ€œOn the floor motherfuckers! On the floor are you deaf?!โ€ Cuco shouted. Rosario didnโ€™t recognize who he was but assumed it had to be one of Rafaโ€™s men. She stayed put seeing all the other people screaming in fear she felt remorseful for the children but knew this had to happen tonight.
โ€œHead down!โ€ Rafa yelled pointing his gun. Rosario instantly recognized his voice and felt a sense of relief.
โ€œGet down!โ€
โ€œYou have no idea who you are fucking with. Do you know who Iโ€™am?โ€ Rosario and Sofiaโ€™s father stood up to confront Rafa knowing he had authority. Rosario rolled her eyes hearing her dad say such ridiculous things.
โ€œAn old man who canโ€™t sing for shit! Get on the ground motherfucker! Let the ruling class trample! Long liveโ€ฆthe proleโ€ฆthe prole-โ€
โ€œLong live the revolution!โ€ Rafa yelled pointing at his gun at the ceiling. He was determined to pull this kidnapping off with some honor.
โ€œLook man I donโ€™t know what youโ€™re planning on doing. This man will bring you guys down if you try to do something.โ€ Ryan lifted his hands up standing up to defy Rafa. Rosario shook her head at how much of an idiot Ryan was she never felt more thankful that she was leaving him. Rafa stared intensely at Ryan placing his gun at his head. Ryan swallowed the gulp in his throat and got down on his knees obeying Rafaโ€™s orders.
โ€œMaldito americano que no sabe hablar espaรฑol.โ€ Rafa spat on Ryan who was trembling in fear. Rosario nearly laughed but remained in the act of being a terrified innocent girl who knew nothing about what was going on.
Rafa then moved to Sofia placing his gun to her head it was all part of the act but it still made Rosario feel a bit nervous. Seeing a gun placed at your siblingโ€™s head wasnโ€™t something you saw everyday but she understood Rafa had it under control.
โ€œStand up.โ€ Rafa urged.
โ€œNo!โ€ Sofia shouted. Rosario watched as Cuco walked over to her and did the same thing. She felt anxious hearing the gun against her head but stayed calm knowing that she needed to act frightened so she could leave and that this kidnapping would go 100 percent smoothly.
โ€œYou get up too.โ€ Cuco ordered Rosario glancing at Rafa who then continued to record Sofia.
โ€œNo no!โ€ Sofia yelled.
โ€œYou get the fuck up!โ€ Cuco then pulled Rosario up as she started to kick and scream.
โ€œMom, dad!โ€ The two sisters called out for their parents who were sobbing on the ground while carrying their daughters backs.
โ€œLet her down!โ€ Ryan yelled grieving with anger on his face. Rosario wished she could flip him off but instead she continued screaming and kicking Cuco like she was supposed to do.
โ€œSofia and Rosario! Donโ€™t take them! Please donโ€™t take them!โ€ Their father pleaded following them out the door. For a minute Rosario felt extremely guilty for causing this pain to her mother and father but then she remembered how they pretty much controlled her life like she was a little kid.
โ€œRosario! Sofia! Donโ€™t take them please!โ€ Their mother and father ran out of the house as Rafa and Cuco shoved them into a car. Sofia and Rosario looked back at their parents and pretended as they were bawling their eyes out and were scared for their lives.
โ€œMom! Dad! Help us!โ€ Rosario and Sofia both yelled banging on the car seat seeing their parents hit the car trying to take them out, but it was no used since the car soon sped off leaving their parents horrified by what had happened.
โ€œItโ€™s โ€œproletariatโ€ idiot. You were supposed to kick the Christmas tree.โ€ Sofia leaned back grinning over Rafa. Rosario then pulled out a cigarette. Sofia and Rafa then started to make out causing Rosario to roll her eyes. Did she actually did something that was insane she thought to herself? It didnโ€™t feel real to her at all.
โ€œยฟNo crees que merezco un puto premio por ese acto?โ€ Rosario chuckle smoking her cigarette in peace without having to worry about her parents screaming at her and Ryan talking too damn much. It felt like she was truly in a place where she could be herself without the fear and judgment with everyone around her.
โ€œHiciste una maravilla.โ€ Sofia laughed smiling at her sister. Rosario looked out the car window admiring the night sky. Everything about this turned out better than she expected it to be. She knew her parents would do anything to get their two daughters back but Rosario was more determined to never return to that lifestyle ever again no matter what they planned to do.
Weeks went by as the news of Rosario and Sofia Conesaโ€™s kidnapping blew up all over Mexicoโ€™s news channels. Everybody questioned where the hell the two sisters could be not understanding why Rafa would do something this foolish. Kidnapping two wealthy girls was not a great image for him or anyone else involved in the Guadalajara cartel. As promised Salma kept her promise to keep quiet even though the urge to confess everything was heavy on her mind but she would never do that to her best friend.
While all the mess was going on Rosario was having the time of her life. Rafa owned a large mansion and unlike the one Rosario and Sofia had lived in this one actually included freedom and enjoyment. Although it could be uncomfortable for Rosario to be around Sofia and Rafa she was more than pleased to be free and independent. She spent her whole days by the pool drinking and smoking cigarettes ignoring the flirtatious comments by Rafaโ€™s men. For once she felt like an adult doing her own thing and not everything her parents wanted her to do.
โ€œThatโ€™s not fucking good.โ€ Rosario watched the news about her and Sofiaโ€™s whereabouts sipping on a glass of wine. Sofia then proceeded to walked over to her grabbing the remote from the sofa changing the channel. Rafa then walked behind her to wrapped his arms around Sofiaโ€™s waist to take her upstairs to his bedroom room. Rosario laughed and made her way to the backyard where she could relax next to the pool. She laid down appreciating the warm sun that hit her body and felt more calm than ever. Even with everything going on in her life, she seemed glad to be here. Anybody would think she would be begging to go home after a day but Rosario didnโ€™t ever want to leave from here and would absolutely to do anything to stay away from her parents and Ryan.
As she laid in the hot sun the sounds of footsteps approached. Miguel รngel took off his sunglasses confused watching Rosario near the pool. Rosario quickly sat up pulling off her sunglasses and only stayed quiet. She recognized him and was a bit worried that he had bad news. Miguel รngel on the other hand thought Rosario looked familiar and then remembered that she had been the strange woman that accidentally bumped into him at Rodolfoโ€™s wedding.
โ€œDisculpe.โ€ Rosario cleared her throat awkwardly walking past Miguel. She knew him coming over to Rafaโ€™s house was not good and she suspected that something was going on. Rosario made her way inside seeing Rafa make his way out of the door to speak to Miguel รngel.
โ€œSofia. I think I heard them talking about us. What if we had to go back home?โ€ Rosario told Sofia who was busy pouring two glasses for her and Rafa.
โ€œDonโ€™t be paranoid. Rafa will figure something out. Weโ€™re Bonnie and Cyde we have each otherโ€™s backs no matter what.โ€ Sofia giggled handing Rosario a glass. Rosario glared at her younger sister and wondered what the hell was she talking about. She didnโ€™t care to know about what her sister and Rafa did with their free time right now she wanted real explanation.
โ€œSofia this is serious itโ€™s not about the little games that you play with Rafa. I canโ€™t go back home to mom and dad. You know that they will send me to California with Ryan once I step through that door. But you donโ€™t get it because youโ€™re living your Bonnie and Cyde fairytale with Rafa. At least mom and dad want you to marry the person that lives here!โ€ Rosario shouted walking off. Sofia then proceeded to follow her but Rosario made her to the guest room she slept in and slammed the door.
Pacing around the room, she kept deliberating whether or not she would go through what she was supposed to. Thinking about going back to Ryan was something she couldnโ€™t do. She knew once she returned home her parents would hurry to marry her off so she could be protected in the United States and the thought of it made her scream. Mexico was her home and she was going to do anything to stay away from her parents and Ryan even it meant doing something completely risky once again.
โ€œRafa wants talk to downstairs. He says itโ€™s important.โ€ Cuco knocked on Rosarioโ€™s door waiting for her to come out. Once she didnโ€™t respond he came in without permission at all witnessing Rosario hurrying to change into decent some clothes.
โ€œยกSal de aquรญ, joder!โ€ Rosario yelled shoving Cuco out of the room. She sighed putting on her blouse adjusting her earrings and necklace before shortly walking out ignoring Cucoโ€™s apologies. She rushed down the stairs to see Rafa and Sofia having a conversation that didnโ€™t looked too encouraging and upbeat like they usually were. She brushed the hair out of her face to took a deep breath and made her way downstairs.
โ€œRosario.โ€ Sofia sighed running towards Rosario to hug her.
โ€œYour father is threatening to expose the poster. The two of you need to go back home.โ€ Rafa announced the news Rosario had threaded to hear. In the back of her mind, she knew it was likely to happen since her father would do anything to get his daughters back but she didnโ€™t wanted it to be true. She couldnโ€™t go back home but she knew if her sister followed up with the plan it would cause many problems between Rosario and the cartel.
She knew that was the reason Miguel รngel had made an unexpected visit. And she also knew her and Sofia didnโ€™t get back to her parents, her father would follow through with his threat and release everything about the cartel and the Guadalajara cartel didnโ€™t need or want that.
โ€œRosario, are you even listening? We have to go back at least tonight. Iโ€™m sorry.โ€ Sofia placed her hand in Rosarioโ€™s shoulder and made her way upstairs.
Rosario stood there in deep thoughts glancing up at Rafa who had his head held up high. He knew that she had something on her mind something that was not good but couldnโ€™t pinpoint it so all he did was walked away from her leaving only her and Rosarioโ€™s about her.
โ€œDo you need help to pack your bags-โ€
โ€œNo Cuco Iโ€™ll be fine.โ€ And with that Rosario ran upstairs to Sofiaโ€™s room about to do something incredibly risky and could turn out regrettable in the future.
โ€œRosario whatโ€™s wrong?โ€ Sofia chuckled seeing the face in Rosario. Realizing it wasnโ€™t a joke Sofia quickly closed the door and pulled her to the large bed that was placed in the middle of the room. Rosario was silent and that concerned Sofia.
โ€œIโ€™m planning on running away. Iโ€™m not going back home.โ€ Rosario confessed immediately regretting doing so. What if Sofia told Rafa? There were so many things that could result from her confessing such a thing.
โ€œAre you insane? You have to go back Rafa even explained right in front of you that dad will be expose the cartel if we donโ€™t go back home. You canโ€™t run away you can get killed for that.โ€ Sofia explained in a hush tone for nobody to hear their conversation. Rosario understood that this was dangerous, but she knew that life was all about difficult decisions like this.
โ€œI know. But if I go back Iโ€™m going to be sent to California and I donโ€™t want that. I know my life will be in danger, but I trust Iโ€™m going to be fine so please help me.โ€ Rosario begged. Sofia turned away and nodded her head.
โ€œOkay how will you do it?โ€ Sofia asked. Rosario had been thinking of this sort unsure plan of herself. She hadnโ€™t figured everything out but she had a basic idea of what she was going to do.
โ€œI need you to distract Rafa. Just tell him that you want to spend one last night with him. I know itโ€™s hard having to do this because I know you care for him. But please do this for me.โ€ Rosario explained hoping it wouldnโ€™t be too hard Sofia to do so. She knew that her younger sister liked Rafa and noticed that they fit together.
โ€œOkay. I will do it. But promise me you will call once you arrive wherever youโ€™re planning on going. And please be careful Rosario I donโ€™t want anything bad to happen to you.โ€ Sofia said hugging Rosario. The two of them knew that this was not a good idea, and messing with a poster could potentially be the worst decision Rosario would ever make but she told herself that it would all be worth it til the end.
Later that night
As planned Sofia had distracted Rafa while Rosario got everything she needed. Despite the amount of guilt and anxiety she had, Sofia was determined to have her sisterโ€™s plan to be successful, or else she would be able to forgive herself.
While this was happening, Rosario prepared everything she needed to leave. It wasnโ€™t much since she didnโ€™t take anything from her home when the fake kidnapping had occurred but she managed to get some money from Sofia and other simple necessities. All she needed to do now was the tricky part and that was the tricky part and that was passed by Rafaโ€™s men without too much trouble. She noted how they all seemed to guard the entire house but she learned what she needed to do.
โ€œVoy a ir a nadar a la piscina. Necesito tiempo para relajarme.โ€ Rosario notified Cuco who seemed very skeptical of her actions. One small mistake she hadnโ€™t realized was that she hadnโ€™t wore clothes that wasnโ€™t meant for swimming.
โ€œEs demasiado tarde para nadar.โ€ He argued, but Rosario insisted that she must go swimming in the pool before she goes back home. Finally, after the consent of begging, Cuco allows her to have the privacy she then waits until heโ€™s out of her way.
โ€œIโ€™ll be back.โ€ Rosario zipped her red sweater and checked around her surroundings carefully. She then did the most daring thing sheโ€™s ever done in the life and that was flee Rafaโ€™s large mansion to run away to know where. It was very cold but the wind felt calming against Rosarioโ€™s face and she felt like everything was gonna be alright. Although the thought of not seeing Sofia that much hurt her she knew she would try something out. As she kept running she decided to make one last trip before getting on the nearest bus. She stopped at a nearest gas station and headed to the telephone booth to call her best friend Salma.
โ€œHello?โ€
โ€œSalma, itโ€™s me Iโ€™m running away I canโ€™t go back with my parents they are going to ruin my life. Iโ€™m going to find a way to visit you and-โ€ But before Rosario could finish her phone call she was picked up from behind and felt something strange that covered her face up. She kicked and screamed not understanding what the hell was going on. She was panicking. Was she going to be murdered right here as Salma could hear her screams for help?
โ€œSheโ€™s coming with us. Put her inside the car.โ€ Rafa ordered.
โ€œRafa what are you doing?! Let me go!โ€
โ€œRosario whatโ€™s going on?!โ€ Salma shouted through the telephone but was disconnected once Rafa stepped on the phone the call instantly coming to an end.
โ€œWonderful.โ€ Was all she heard voices she didnโ€™t recognize thatโ€™s when she knew she was completely screwed.

Present day Tijuana Mexico
โ THE WEDDING OF RODOLFO SANCHEZ WHERE YOU THERE? โž
"Of course I was there. That was the day I saw Miguel รngel for the very first time, he was there with his wife." Rosario answered the journalist who nodded her head.
"Can you tell me more about that? If you can remember." The journalist tapped her pen against her journal book. Rosario looked down remembering every detail of the wedding like it was yesterday. How could anyone like her forget when you had such an adventurous and dangerous life? It was even impossible to forget a life like that.
"I can remember it all even the details of how my dress look like and the lavish decor for the wedding." Rosario began. The memories flooded back to her and now it seemed that she traveled back in time to the exact day of the wedding.
Years before
"I don't know Salma. Don't you think it's a little odd for a narco like him to be talking to us? The fact that Sofia was being bold. Oh god, that's just not okay." Rosario walked along with her best friend Salma on the very next day. She couldn't stop thinking about the guy at the nightclub what if he could do personally harm to her and possibly her family. The thought that made her head spin around into circles.
"Calm down Rosario, I mean I do have to agree with you on that subject. At least he didn't nothing bad to us. You're fine, even your sister, we're all fine." Salma stated glancing at Rosario who shook her head. She disliked how Salma wasn't taking it too serious sometimes. She was feeling concerned for Rafa.
"Salma? Are you even listening to me? This is not some joke to be messing around. I'm anxious on what this man got going on his sleeve, you don't know how much power the guy has." Rosario crossed her arms staring off into the college campus. Salma sighed and gently placed her hand on Rosario's tense shoulder.
"Todo estรก en tu cabeza." Salma grinned hoping her best friend would relax. Rosario nodded her head even though her anxiety had not gone away.
"De todos modos, cambiemos de tema. ยฟVas a venir a la boda esta noche?" Salma asked. Rosario agreed to come knowing that her parents were forcing her and Sofia to go to a wedding for a man named Rodolfo Sanchez. She didn't know much about him only that she had to go with Ryan the man her parents had liked her with and tried to have a good time.
"Yes, I'm being forced to go with that gringo Ryan. I hated him so much I wish I could have my life instead of having one of my parents wanting me to have. I'm so tired of having to attend these fancy events. Last day on my birthday was so fun and normal until a narco came around." Rosario sighed thinking about last night.
"Hey, it's gonna get better soon. The good news is that I'll be there to cheer you up from that gringo." Salma beamed. Rosario nodded her head and continued to walk to her college class she attended with Salma.
โ‹†โ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโœงโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ‹†
Later that night
Rosario had just finished straightening her hair looking at herself in the large mirror that stood in her bedroom. She just wanted to get this wedding over with and wished something exciting would make it less boring than it would be.
She head downstairs to greet her parents, sister, and most of all Ryan who was already dressed. Rosario walked up to her parents who were chatting about the wedding for Rodolfo. She caught their attention on her for a second. They took a good look at Rosario to completely awe her on how she looks incredible with her extravagant dress.
"You look beautiful dear." Rosario's mom responded cupping her cheeks causing Rosario to roll her eyes.
"Mom, do we really have to come to this stupid wedding?" Rosario asked. She wished that she shouldn't be drag into this and rather go to a nightclub instead.
"Yes dear, it's for the governor's son Rodolfo. I really want you to be on your best behavior, besides you got Ryan to keep you company." Her mom replied gently placing her hand on Rosario's long wavy hair.
"Whatever." Rosario sighed walking into the kitchen to grab something to drink to keep her mouth hydrated. She opened the fridge to grab a pitcher full ofย  water to pour some into her glass cup.
"Hola, guapa." The man she dreaded to see startled her that she even dropped her glass cup on the floor. Ryan was from the United States, he grew up living in a wealthy family. He moved to Mexico for a job. He was extremely rich Rosario's father wanted something for his daughter. So now she was obligated to marry him though the thought disgusted her.
"ยกQuรฉ demonios Ryan, me has asustado!" Rosario shouted at him flattened her blue dress from spilling water everywhere.
"I'm so sorry my love. Here, let me get that for you." Ryan leaned closer to her where he proceeded to wrapped his arms around her waist to make sure her dress wasn't wet from the mess. This enraged Rosario, she wanted to punch him in the face so hard but knew she would get in trouble with her parents if she did.
"We should probably go." She muttered trying to take his hands off of her. But he didn't listen and instead placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Have you been practicing your English lately?" Jackson spoke in English which confused Rosario by the different language but understood what he had said. She knew that the deal he had made with her parents was he would take her off to the States once she knew a lot of English. Rosario didn't want to leave with him, so she made excuses saying she was too busy to practice but now she didn't know how true those excuses were coming.
"No. I didn't have the time. I was busy with school and some important stuff." Rosario replied walking away from him but felt his hand gripped tightly on her shoulder once again. Ryan's face turned bright red and right away worried Rosario. She didn't know what was he capable of doing to her.
"You're lying. You think I believe your little lies, well you guessed wrong. Ryan talked again in Spanish although his accent was terrible. Rosario turned around in shock as she gripped tightly to her silver necklace.
"Wait? Have you been spying on me? Is this some deal that you made with my father?" She exclaimed.
"No, it's not like that. I was supposed to come to your birthday party last night but I couldn't make it. I decided changed my plans so I went out with my friends instead, until I saw you with Sofia and your friend. In the middle of your time, I saw that man with the red shirt came up to you. Not to mention what the hell happened to you after you left the club? What were you talking to him about? Was he trying to steal my girl?" Ryan stepped up to Rosario still gripping her arm tightly. She could smell the alcohol sent coming from his mouth. He was drunk.
"I'm not your fucking girl! And it's none of your damn business! Just because you and my father made a deal doesn't mean shit. I hate you! Now leave me alone!" She yelled pulling away from his grip with her other hand. Ryan, however, did not let go and shoved her against the fridge completely touching her butt. Rosario's hand was able to reach the nearest glass that was closes to her to defend herself.
"You better get off of me! Or else I'm going to fucking stab you with this!" Rosario shouted pointing the glass at him. Ryan quickly stepped back lifting his hands up in defense.
"Rosario what are you doing?!" Sofia ran inside the kitchen seeing her sister with broken glass, threatening Ryan.
"He's an asshole! H-He wouldn't let go of me!" Rosario cried her hands shaking from the recent events that occurred. Sofia believed her sister and shot Ryan a resentful look.
"Don't touch my sister ever again!" Sofia shouted hugging Rosario. Ryan laughed before walking out of the kitchen. He knew he had the audacity over her, and that angered Rosario.
"I'm never going to let some man tell me what to do. I'm always going to protect myself I swear on that Sofia. And there's no way I'm going to marry him I can play pretend tonight for dad but not for the rest of my life." Rosario ran her fingers through her dark hair and paced around the kitchen. Sofia tilted her head not knowing what her sister was suggesting.
"You know we have to do what dad tells us. You have to marry Ryan. He says it helps make the family look good." Sofia mumbled. Rosario shook her head and walked over to her purse that was lying on the counter to grab a pack of cigarettes. She lit one up and holding another one for Sofia to thought how was she going to bring her idea up.
"What if we ran away? Start our own business or I don't know find a job away from here. Let's leave Guadalajara." Rosario suggested holding onto Sofia's hands. Sofia looked at her like she was crazy.
"Look I'm all about being rebellious? What I'm trying to say this we cannot do Rosario. It's too risky for this imagine how mom and dad would feel if we tried to run away and find us." Sofia said. Rosario nodded head knowing that she was right. Even though the thought of running away was somewhat intriguing. She loved her parents but she hated their rules and ways. This wasn't like her and they were too stubborn to see that.
"Gran idea. Deberรญamos irnos ahora." Rosario cleared her throat wondering why the hell would she say that. Running away was such a bizarre plan but the thought of her starting over was fascinating. She was rich, but she disliked how everything was handed out to her like she was some little kid. She wanted to for herself for a change perhaps start a business or make her own money but that was not impossible like Sofia had said.

The wedding celebration was filled with incredible music and beautiful decor. It was the only thing that kept Rosario distracted from the aggravating Ryan.
"Sweetie are you listening to Ryan?" Rosario's mom asked as they all sat around a large table.
"No. Sorry I was a bit distracted now what do you want to tell me now Ryan?" Rosario faked a smile as she faced Ryan.
"Well, I would like for you to take classes and learn English faster. So we can leave to California in a few months." Ryan smirked knowing exactly what was he doing.
"U-Um learning a new language can take years. Mom and dad I would prefer to be completely fluent before I leave." Rosario grinned hoping to persuade her parents not to let her leave. Sofia gave Rosario a worried look.
"No can do. English is an easy language to learn. You can do it Rosario with my help." Ryan placed his hand on her shoulder, despite Rosario being uncomfortable.
"I'm going to go find Salma. I'm sure she would love to hear the news of me moving in a couple of months." Rosario took Ryan's dirty hand off of her and looked at Sofia. She needed to do something anything to avoid marrying that asshole.
"Salma! I really need to talk to you." Rosario ran over to Salma who happened to be speaking with some random guy.
"What is it?" Salma pulled Rosario aside so no one could hear them. Rosario looked around making sure her parents couldn't see the two.
"Estรกn locos. Me van a enviar a los Estados Unidos en unos meses." Rosario was stressed as she ran her hands through her hair something she did in tough times.
"ยฟEspera? ยฟPor quรฉ tan temprano? ยฟNo dijeron que no te irรญas hasta que aprendieras inglรฉs?" Salma exclaimed handing Rosario a glass of champagne which she drank very quickly. Rosario shook her head but something caught her attention. He was the same guy from the other night with a white-colored suit on.
"Oh great. It's the same narco that we saw at the nightclub last night." Rosario stared intently at him as he walked around many tables where guests remained seated.
"You mean him? I heard a lot of people saying he's Rafa Caro Quintero. He's a drug trafficker and he also works for Miguel รngel Gallardo the one who hosted the wedding. I gotta say he's quite handsome with his suit on and silky hair. He even owns this exact hotel." Salma turned her attention on Miguel who was talking to someone that Rosario didn't recognize. Rosario gazed at Miguel seeing that he was rather handsome.
"He's a narco. Soon to be powerful I think I heard my dad mention him before." Rosario spoke. Salma turned away from him and back to Rosario.
"Can I ask you a question? What the hell is he doing here at a wedding?" Rosario continued whispering tapping her nails against the empty champagne glass.
"Haven't you read the wedding invitation that they sent to you? It said they're going to have alternative special guests including politicians, governors, pop stars, and most importantly drug traffickers." Salma drank the last glass of her champagne. Rosario gave her a worried look.
"It's strange, isn't it? How do they earn money like that?" Rosario whispered once again.
"Not an easy business, though." Salma shrugged handing Rosario a cigarette which she declined knowing that her parents wouldn't allow her to smoke.
"I should go back before any of them get mad at me. But thank you, Salma, you're amazing." Rosario thanked before walking back to her table seeing an unexpected guest. She stopped in her tracks seeing Rafa standing near their table. The audacity he had to be doing this but she could tell that Sofia was interested in him, despite everything about him. He shook the people's hands who sat at their table and glanced over at Rosario and Sofia before he walked away. Their parents whispered among each other criticizing everything about him.
"See girls that man passed our table isn't a man you should marry." The mother spoke rising up her wine glass to her lips. Sofia rolled her eyes in annoyance and faced Rosario.
"We have to figure something out." Sofia whispered grasping the hands of Rosario.
"I know."
The next few minutes Rosario was out of boredom having to listen to her parents gush over Ryan. She looked around the place to distract herself instantly recognize the man that Salma told her about. She learned his name Miguel รngel he was handsome but was a drug trafficker. She noticed how he was getting into discussion with some other older man assumably talking about business. She also spotted two other attractive men who stood close to them. They seemed to be related perhaps brothers one of them stood out since he did not dress up at all only wearing a green shirt. She knew the two also had involvement in the discussion and business. Rosario was very vigilant when it came to people, and Sofia noticed that.
"ยฟQuรฉ estรกs mirando?" Sofia hit Rosario's arm. Rosario shrugged drinking the remaining of her wine.
"Nada." Rosario reassured looking up again seeing Miguel leaving along with the two brothers.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes, I'm perfectly fine."
โ‹†โ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโœงโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ”ˆโ‹†
"Never forget where you come from. We Sinaloans may scatter to the winds, but our roots keep us planted firmly on the ground. Know that today, you have taken part in a scared act. "The blood of the convent..." There is no stronger bond than that one of the family you choose. And today, you decided to be together to be family. You're screwed. So, cheers, and congratulations to the bride and groom." Miguel's speech was memorizing. It was like he had picked his words carefully. Rosario watched as he made his way to his table joining his beautiful wife.
"Such a memorable speech." Rosario whispered her eyes with being empress.
"Agreed."ย  Sofia chugged the rest of her champagne down her throat. Clearly, the two sisters wanted more than an arranged relationship by their parents. They wanted to truly experience living life.
"As the father of the groom, I'd like to take a moment to thank our host. When I first met Miguel รngel, all he had to his name was a pistol and a badge and someone had to loan him money for the gun. As Rodolfo's friend, this man loved and protected my son like his own. For that, I will be eternally grateful. Now standing here tonight in his beautiful hotel, seeing the man he's become, and success he's archived... Honestly, I'm really proud. Let's raise a glass. To my friend, one of Guadalajara's rising stars, Miguel รngel Fรฉlix Gallardo." Celis the father of Rodolfo spoke.
"To my godfather!" Rodolfo shouted looking at Miguel who had a smile on his face. And with that everyone including Rosario raised their glass of champagne and gave Miguel a toast. The lovely music began to play once again filling the room with dancing couples and laughs. Expect for Sofia and Rosario who were board out their minds. Rafa saw the two sisters and thought this would be his change to go up to their table once again but with a daring request.
"Ryan, not right now, I told you my feet hurt. I don't want to dance with you." Rosario murmured low enough so her parents wouldn't force her. Ryan rolled his eyes and gave up. A couple of seconds later to Sofia and Rosario's surprise Rafa had walked up to their table.
"Dance?" Rafa reached his hand out to Sofia who wanted nothing to dance with him but knowing her parents that she wouldn't be okay. Rosario looked up at Rafa who made eye contact with her as well. She shook her head as a warning knowing that her parents weren't accepting at all. Sofia looked back at her mother Ella and Rosario as if she was asking permission. Rosario would have said yes but she only stayed quiet knowing this was not her discussion to make.
"Don't look at them. I'm talking to you." Rafa said.
"Sorry, man. I beat you to it. Shall we?" Sofia's suitor responded taking Sofia's hand from her dragging her to the dance floor. Sofia looked at Rafa and Rosario.
"Now Rosario would you be a polite dear and dance with Ryan?" Their mother eyed Rafa who avoided the flash of camera. Rosario sighed seeing that picture of her being taken and she reluctantly accepted Ryan's hand from her. Rafa glimpsed at Rosario before walking off.
"Once we get home, I would love to have some quality time with my future wife." Ryan whispered into Rosario's ear making her puke and run off never looking back. They made their way into the dance floor, and he gripped her waist. Rosario wanted to cry she hated him so much and she couldn't imagine leaving everything behind in Mexico to live in a different country with such a disgusting man. She needed to figure out how to not let this happen. Telling his parents that he's abusive and controlled man would never work. They wouldn't believe her.
"Are you having such a wonderful time?" Ryan asked softly caressing her face. She flinched and nodded her head.
"Of course." Rosario whispered even though in her brown eyes it revealed that she was in fact terrified. Rafa watched from afar drinking down his champagne. Sofia stared back at him as well as Rosario.
"I was wondering if maybe we can take a break from dancing. These heels are really killing the back of my feet." Rosario lied hoping Ryan would allow her to go back to the table to enjoy the rest of her time at this wedding. Even the wedding decor was more charming than him.
"Shh. Just have some time with me Rosario." Ryan chuckled closing his eyes continuing to dance with Rosario. She looked around the dance floor seeing that Sofia nowhere in place along Rafa. She must have gone off to the bathroom. Rosario thought to herself but she was concerned. It was too coincidental to have the two missing people gone around the same time.
"Ryan please. I need to go to the restroom I promise I'll be right back." With that Rosario rushed away from the dance floor leaving Ryan cursing under his breath. She lifted up her dress carefully not to slip in front of the guests.
"Excuse me." Rosario brushed past Miguel not even recognizing him. He shrugged and looked back at the young woman.
"Oh, Dios. ยฟEstรกs bien?" Salma nearly fell seeing her best friend out of breath. Rosario grabbed her knees ignoring the people's stars and whispers.
"No sรฉ a dรณnde fue Sofรญa." Rosario answered once she had calmed herself down.
"Well don't panic. She could've gone to the bathroom what's there to worry about?" Salma chuckled sipping on her wine. Rosario's eyes widened not understanding why Salma didn't recognize why she was troubled.
"Hello Salma?! After the information that you told me about I don't trust half of these people here. They could even be dangerous. Not to mention Rafa disappeared along with her." Rosario crossed her arms turning away from Salma.
"Then let's go find them. But first you need this to calm yourself down." Salma handed Rosario a cigarette which she accepted. In a stressful moment like this, a cigarette was needed. Rosario a was overall and anxious person even if this situation was small it could shoot her anxiety up.
"Okay to help ease your mind. Don't you think Miguel รngel is handsome?" Salma giggled like a young girl glancing at Rosario who couldn't help but smile. She blew the smoke out of the cigarette and nodded her head.
"I believe his personality makes him more handsome but then again he's not exactly a good person." Rosario responded to the smoke sort of calming her serves. For a moment she forgot Sofia had left the party.
"Just because you do bad things, doesn't necessarily make you a bad person." Salma winked smoking her cigarette. Rosario nodded her head agreeing with Salma's opinion of her. It was true, however, she couldn't even imagine saying that a lot.
"Look I don't know if you saw her tonight but some girl her name is Isabella. She known Miguel รngel for years and speaks so kindly about him." Salma explained the two continuing walking through the dark hallways of the hotel.
"Doesn't mean she's telling the truth. I lie about Ryan all the time, and he's a piece a shit." Rosario argued.
"True. But I don't know I believe her." Salma mumbled. Rosario looked down at her heels she had a heavy question on her mind and debated whether bring it up.
"Look I know this is a weird question maybe even a bit controversial. But would you ever considered yourself getting involved in the drug trafficking business?" Rosario questioned staring at Salma who suddenly went quiet. Rosario immediately regretted bringing up knowing the topic wasn't such a light one.
"I feel like you need to answer that question for yourself but since you asked why not? Yes, it would bring trouble but think about the money, and it's not like you have to do anything too psychotic like killing people. You can just earn money and live. But that will never happen to us so why stress." Salma chuckled as Rosario partially agreed. She knew that the drug trafficking world wasn't all about rainbows and sunshine. It was way more than just the money there was more to it but how would she ever know? It's not like she would ever consider joining such a dangerous business.
"Agreed."
"I think I heard something." Salma shush Rosario went silent. Soon enough they caught Rafa and Sofia making out. Rosario's eyes widened while all Salma could do was let out a laugh.
"Sofia I-โ€
"It's not what it looks like." Sofia pulled away from Rafa who had a huge grin all over his face. Rosario rolled her eyes knowing that excuse was the most overused one when someone was caught.
"Por favor, no le digas nada a mamรก y papรก. Querรญa ser libre, como dijiste." Sofรญa pleaded knowing would try her for something like this.
"Por eso no se lo dirรฉ." Rosario smiled seeing Sofia's face becoming brighter than usual. She could tell that Rafa was the man she liked. Rosario couldn't take that away from her it would be wrong.
"But we do need to talk alone. Please." Sofia said looking specifically at Rafa.
"Alright." He mumbled walking off along with Salma. The two sisters waited until they were gone to begin their discussion.
"I have a plan for the both of us but I really need you to be okay with this. I have talked to Rafa about how we planned out a kidnapping and you are gonna be apart of this. We need to hurry fast or Ryan is force you to leave to fucking go to California with him. Please be okay with this." Sofia begged her blue eyes staring directly at Rosario. She knew it was too risky doing this since her parents would look everywhere and anything to find them and this was a great opportunity to flee.
"Are you sure? I mean would if your plan goes backfired? Because I think I will be able to figure something out." Rosario whispered so nobody else nearby would be able to hear their difficult conversation.
"Rosario please trust me on this. You said you wanted to be free from mom and dad's rules we have to do this." Sofia swallowed the gulp of her throat. She couldn't believe these words were coming out of her mouth right now. It seemed like they would be the words of Rosario but now the rules were reversed.
"Then okay. Talk to me when you get the details. We're finally doing this. We're going to be independent like we always wanted to be." Rosario's eyes were bright full of hope for the future.
The rest of the night was still fantastic. Knowing that in just a short amount of time she would be free from Ryan and her parents strict ways helped her become more positive. She was excited about a new start and change her life no matter what how dangerous it would be.

"Now as looked back at that night, I realize this was the beginning of my old self disappearing. It was the first part of my rebelliousness it was the start me losing myself. I was no longer the sweet reserved Rosario I was different." Rosario whispered not noticing the tears streaming down her face. The journalist handed her box of tissues and looked down at the list of questions on her notebook.
"This was the night where you met Miguel รngel Fรฉlix Gallardo?" The journalist titled her head interested what the answer would be.
"I didn't exactly met him. I saw him for the first time but didn't say a word to him. I had admired his speech, but that's all. This night he was considered a stranger to me."

Present Day Tijuana Mexico
โ ROSARIO CONESA CAN YOU PLEASE TELL US THE STORY OF HOW YOU MET THE BIGGEST NARCOS IN MEXICO? โž
"And why should I answer such a certain question?" Rosario raised an eyebrow while listening to what the journalist was saying. It had been over years since her last encounter with Mexico's most notorious leaders, and yet she is sitting here today telling her story.
"Have you worked with them before?" The journalist questioned Rosario back. What kind of answer was she hoping to say?
"Yes I did." She answered, biting the finger tips of her red file nails.
"Do you still have contact with Miguel รngel Gallardo or Rafa Caro Quintero? Anyone recently who was involved in the cartel world?" The journalist questioned eagerly at Rosario in front of her. Rosario twirled the piece of her hair that was on attached of the back of her shoulders not knowing what to say.
"No, I haven't been able to reach out to them." She responded in a soft tone.
"Can't you at least tell us about your first encounter with them?"
Years before (1980s)
"Happy Birthday to you!" The crowd of people sang the last words of the song once Rosario took a step to blow out her birthday cake candles. The crowd cheered as she finally made her wish for something special. Today was a very important day for her entire life, it was her 18th birthday. Rosario was finally an adult now and was ready to experience things like she had wanted her whole life.
"My baby is all grown up!" Her mother wiped away her tears trying not to cry again. She couldn't bear to see her two daughters becoming adults. Their mother wants the best for her girls to marry some wealthy rich American man and live somewhere in the United States. They weren't having that, the two women wanted find someone better; to do that was to find the perfect man for them.
"Feliz cumpleaรฑos, hermana." Sofia cheered, as she chugged the last sip of her champagne. Rosario was one year older than her, but the two did have a healthy sibling relationship growing up. Most of the times, the sisters would often fight a lot when they were younger. Now they're teens well almost adults now, they couldn't dare to have a day without each other. The sisters treated one another like best friends and got a future ahead of them.
"Thanks Sofia, I really appreciate it." Rosario responded, grabbing herself a glass of water. When she saw her best friend, Salma walking towards her holding a gold box with a red ribbon attached to it. Her and Rosario were very close since childhood, they also reminded each other like sisters. Although her and Sofia reminded as best friends that they are, the three of them did quite get along.
"Happy birthday girl, I've got something for you. I hope you really like it." Salma handed her birthday gift. Rosario set her glass on the table to open her present, which came to her surprise was a gold necklace having the initials that read BFF.
"Guau, muchas gracias Salma, me gusta mucho." Rosario responded, admiring the expensive jewelry that her best friend had just bought for her.
"Por supuesto, cualquier cosa para mi mejor amigo." Salma replied back, smiling at Rosario. Just then Sofia walked over to her sister carrying an expensive black shopping bag.
"Um, hello? You didn't start mine yet. So here you go sis happy birthday." Sofia hold the bag out waiting for Rosario to open her sister's present. Inside it was a sparkling purple dress with a pair of white heels.
"Oh my god, thank you so much sis, you're the best. But what exactly is it for anyway?" Rosario asked, holding onto the dress waiting for a response.
"That's because we're going out to party silly!" Sofia giggled, coming from excitement. Although they've partied before without their parent's consent. Sofia has been waiting for this very moment since the day her sister turned 18. She wanted to take her out something special for the both of them to have quality time together.
"Absolutely not you two. Do you know what time it is? It's too late to be out partying all night. You have classes tomorrow." Rosario and Sofia's dad retorted, not wanting them to go out this late.
"Oh come on dad, it's my birthday I'm old enough to do what I want now. We're not children anymore." Rosario rolled her eyes trying to get her dad to understand.
"Yeah dad, she's 18 after all. please let us have some freedom for just one night?" Sofia agreeing with her sister that didn't like to be told by her parents what to do.
"Muy bien, supongo que puedes ir, pero asegรบrate de volver a casa a las diez o ambos estรกn castigados." Their dad warned them.
"Thank god!" Rosario and Sofia both signed in relief.
"What are we waiting for? Let's get dressed already." Sofia suggested grabbing Rosario's arm heading upstairs with her.
"Salma you going or not?" Sofia continued, turning around to face her. Unfortunately Salma was kinda the fun one throughout the group. She would most likely host parties for her friends when her parents are not home. Rosario and Sofia would often come to one of them when they're hiding from their parents.
"Sure, I'm coming too, I'll be at my car waiting for you two." Salma responded walking out the Conesa household. Just when the sister's parents assigned the maids to clean the entire room including the kitchen and living room while the guests were still leaving.
Rosario and Sofia had reached their bathrooms to get ready to celebrate. Rosario had just got into her dress already and was now finishing the touches of her hair to the point where she was about done curling. She was now on the makeup part, powdering blush on her cheeks. Meanwhile Sofia wore her red dress, putting her loop earrings on. She step out of her bathroom to head to sister's room to check on her.
"Rosario are you about done yet?" Sofia asked, stepping inside the bedroom to see if she was there. But it turns out that her sister was in bathroom as well finishing up her looks.
"I'm almost done, just give me a minute!" Rosario shouted, applying her red lipstick on with her bathroom door which was close for Sofia to hear.
"Well then hurry up, we don't want mom and dad to change their minds." Sofia sighed shaking her head thinking that this girl takes all day.
Rosario was now officially done getting ready. She took one last look at the mirror to make sure if there's no smudges against her makeup before she could manage to leave her bathroom. She looked absolutely gorgeous with her purple dress on with her hair filled with curls and heavy attractive makeup on.
She step out of the bathroom like she was doing a fashion show walk to impress everyone.
"Holy shit, you look stunning girl, let's go." Sofia complimented, dragging her arm with her to head downstairs.
"Thank you, you too." Rosario responded, waiting for what their parents think of them going out.
When they made their way into the living room, the parents were already in the kitchen eating a slice of cake. They stopped for a second to turn around to see that their daughters were dressed up and were ready to go to the club.
"Alright mom and dad, we'll be right back." Rosario assured them that her and Sofia were gonna be safe going out to celebrate.
"Remember what your dad told you girls?" Their mom reminded them to remember what time they should head back home.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. He said 10 got it." Rosario and Sofia both said in unison. They really didn't like their parents to suggest a curfew for them. The sisters were old enough to stay out all they want to party and have fun.
"You girls can go now, but don't be out too late." The dad warned them once again.
Rosario and Sofia walked out of the door of their large house to meet up with Salma. Surprisingly she stood outside of her car waiting for the two sisters to show up here. Unfortunately she did see them walking while she had her arms crossed wondering what took them so long.
"Finally you guys are here. What took you all day?" Salma exclaimed, knowing what was taking them all night to get dressed.
"Hey don't look at me, Rosario was the one that was taking all day to get ready." Sofia pointed at to her not taking the blame for her sister.
"Oh just shut up, will ya?" Rosario rolled her eyes not wanting to hear about Sofia's shenanigans.
"Anyways are you girls about ready to celebrate birthday girl's night out?" Salma inquired with excitement coming from her.
"Actually, we were thinking that we should walked over there. I mean it's not that far away, it's way closer to our house." Sofia suggested, with Rosario nodding her head in agreement.
"That's fine by me. What're waiting for? Let's go." Salma said, walking with the two sisters following along. The whole time Rosario and Sofia were talking about troubled issues at home and dealing with their strict parents.
"I can't believe dad told us to be home by ten like we're just some little kids." Rosario groaned, not liking the idea of her dad telling what time she should head home. Their father was the secretary of education and was all over protective when it came to his daughters, however they happened to be the wild ones.
"Yeah, I know right?! You know what's even worse?! They even want us to marry some gringos." Sofia scoffed of how their parents chose their future husbands.
"Like I'm even aware of, especially for that gringo Ryan. I can't believe they even found a guy like him, he's not even my type. I don't like everything about him, his Spanish sucks and he's too ugly. Imagine living a life with him?" Rosario complained, not wanting to marry some American but rather someone from Mexico.
"Estoy con ustedes, chicas, en eso, ni siquiera podรญa verme saliendo con algรบn gringo que personalmente no elegirรญa ser mi marido." Salma agreed with each statement they were saying.
"I'm supposed to marry someone who's even better, At least yours doesn't try too much, Rosario." Sofia pointed out, but soon their conversation was interrupted with the sound of music thumping everywhere. They had finally made it to the club.
"We're here!" Salma shouted, grinning at the two sisters who nodded their heads. They made their way in, not knowing they would capture male attention. They were all pretty young girls, Rosario would always get excited to talk to men. Men that she was truly attracted to, and not some man she was forced to be an a relationship with.
"Aquรญ estรก tu bebida." Sofรญa giggled, handing Rosario a drink, not knowing if she was unsure if she should take a shot.
"I don't know." Rosario shaking her head if she should drink on her birthday.
"Oh, no seas un coรฑo ya." Sofรญa teased, chuckling still holding the cup out for her.
"Yeah, loosen up it's your birthday." Salma agreeing taking a sip of her alcoholic beverage.
Rosario began to look at the crowd of people who were on the dance floor having the best time of their lives, and turned to look at the cup that Sofia had just poured for her. She realized that she tonight is her birthday and should be the one celebrating the time of her entire life. Rosario just shrugged her shoulders and grabbed the drink that was sitting on the table.
"Fuck it!" Rosario smirked, slowly drinking down the alcoholic glass. It burned her throat but it tastes good. After a couple of more drinks were passed around, the three of them were on the dance floor dancing with no care in the world.
"Hola, seรฑoras." Rafa walked up to the ladies, having been admiring the way that they dance for the entire night. Rosario felt strange to see that this guy looked familiar that she had seen him before. Earlier, her and Sofia both saw him stormed into their classroom out of nowhere, and that didn't make this any better when it came to her anxiety.
"Another round. And could you clear some of these empty glasses?" Sofia shouted to some of her other friends. Rosario raised a brow seeing her ignore him and hoped that maybe the red colored shirt man could just leave them alone.
"Oye, ยฟtu amigo es sordo o algo asรญ?" Rafa shouted over to the loud music. Rosario looked up at the guy and back at her sister, who continued to dance.
"No, es mi hermana y no es sorda." Rosario responded by hitting Sofia's shoulder, realizing what was going on. The four stood in complete silence, only staring at one another. It was awkward and Rosario was waiting to hear what he was going to say.
"I've been watching you three dance for the whole night. Wondering if any of you want to dance?" Rafa asked with a hint of confidence in his voice. Rosario nearly gulped hearing this while Sofia was laughing at the guy while looking at her sister.
"Oh, that's sweet. But I don't want to get you in trouble. It looks like you need a job." Sofia joked, grinning at Rosario. She knew this better than this, you should never interact with some man especially like this. He could cause any harm or even worse put them in all of risk.
"I'm not a waiter."
"What?" Sofia exclaimed, giggling once more. Rosario even crossed her arms, sipping at her drink. She didn't know what to do at this point but wait and watch. I mean she couldn't tell her to stop, it was her sister after all since she was enough to make her own decisions.
"Are you sure? Because you do seem to look like one." Salma laughed with an agreement.
"I'm not a fucking waiter." He whispered loud enough for them to hear. Sofia and Salma laughed, looking back at Rosario once again. She sighed disapproval.
"Girls, we should probably head home it's getting late." Rosario yanked one of their arms, who quickly let go. Rafa noticed how annoyed Rosario appeared, but he wasn't done.
"Me and my sister saw you on campus right? I think he kidnapped our professor?" Sofia gently yanked Rosario's arm, grinning every time Rafa spoke. She was always aware of what he was, Rosario could even tell by his vibe and not to mention the many men who practically were protecting him. But she kept her mouth shut, knowing this information couldn't be tossed around easily.
"Oh right Sofia, that story that you told me before. He just immediately bust in out of nowhere to kidnap your professor." Salma giggled making Sofia nod her head.
"I returned him in one piece, didn't I? And that fucker was loaded with money. How about it?" Rafa chuckled, staring directly at Sofia. Rosario even felt like a third wheel, but there was no way in hell she was leaving her younger sister and best friend alone no matter how uncomfortable this situation was.
"I have a boyfriend." Sofia lied, titling her head to the side. Rosario was confused since she knew Sofia didn't, but agreed to follow along to get this guy to leave them alone.
"ยฟY vosotros dos?" Rafa asked, referring to Rosario and Salma.
"ยฟNosotros?" They both snarled, not wanting to entertain this man. Rafa grinned, observing how bold they were.
"Have boyfriends?" Rafa clarified. Rosario and Salma both laughed looking away for a second. Sofia was cracking up now.
"Yes we do." Rosario and Salma both lied exactly like Sofia. In truth Rosario hadn't had a boyfriend for almost three years and wasn't up for one right now. She rather preferred to focus on herself and not have to rely on a man for anything in life.
"The three of you are lying. Come on, dance with me." Rafa continued to push, attempting to get one of the girls to dance with him. Rosario wasn't having this anymore and wanted to leave, but Salma and her sister wasn't the type to leave parties so early.
"Give me one reason why not, and I'll leave you girls alone." Rafa said. Rosario took a glimpse at Salma and Sofia, who both chuckled.
"Don't say anything stupid." Rosario warned, referring to Sofia, but she knew quite well this wasn't going to stop her.
"Fine I'll give you three." Sofia replied to Rafa's question. Rosario sighed, knowing this wasn't going to go well, her sister had the worst mouth ever and couldn't shut it whenever she was told to.
"Your shirt. Your pants. And your boots." Sofia turned back to Salma, laughing like they were maniacs. Rosario was unimpressed, not knowing what this man could do. It was dangerous to mess with someone like that and she was worried that because of this, they could be in trouble. Rafa was clearly angry by this and leaned in close to Sofia.
"But we all know what we like it's underneath." Rafa leaned in whispering to Sofia, who reacted by laughing with one of her friends. Rosario gave her sister a look and peeked over at Rafa who walked off. She was getting unusual vibes and couldn't point a finger at it.
"I'm going to go home. I hope you two have fun without me." Rosario told Salma and Sofia who simply ignored her. Giving up, Rosario grabbed her purse and started to walk out of the club. She had enough to drink since she doesn't want to get drunk for her to make her way home. Even though Sofia coming along with Salma would have calmed her nerves. Something about Rafa was odd, and she knew she wanted nothing to do with that.
"Hey, wait a minute!" Rafa ran out of the club chasing Rosario, who began to pick up her pace. She held tightly to her diamond necklace but screamed when Rafa expectedly followed her.
"ยกQuรฉ quieres ahora!?" Rosario yelled. Rafa was irritated and saw the girl turned around to face him. He didn't want to hurt her he only wanted to talk to her.
"Calm down. I wanted to ask you about your sister." Rafa explained to Rosario, who knew better off not to run off away from him.
"What's there to ask about her? Like she said she has a boyfriend. Take a hint." Rosario sternly said, which startled Rafa. Never once did dare to raise their voice at him, especially a woman.
"She does not have a boyfriend. I'm not stupid, and what are you so afraid of? I'm not gonna kill you." Rafa laughed, seeing the scared expression all over Rosario's face. She didn't find it funny, and instead remained furious and frightened by him.
"You think I look stupid, huh?" Rosario looked up at Rafa who was by what she was implying.
"ยฟDe quรฉ estรกs hablando?" He chuckled.
"Eres un puto narco con el que no deberรญa estar hablando." Rosario whispered at him. Rafa took a step back and smirked. Rosario tried her best not to be intimidated by him, but that was coming impossibly every second for now on.
"And that interests you? Working as a narco?" Rafa looked down at Rosario, who was surprised. Wasn't this part of where he denies it or perhaps kills her, she thought to herself. She was astonished and shook her head.
"No that's a terrible business that wouldn't be aware of getting involved in. Look, I don't want any trouble. Just leave me, my sister, and my friend alone." Rosario swallowed the gulp in her throat and walked off. Rafa smiled, knowing well enough that she was lying and threw his cigarette off the ground.
Present day Tijuana Mexico
"Rosario are you hearing me?" The journalist stared at Rosario, who had explained the first part of her story.
"Yes. Sorry, it's just the memories keep popping inside my head. It was like yesterday, It was my 18th birthday and I was at the club with my sister and my best friend. That's when I met Rafa Caro Quintero, if I hadn't gone out the night. Maybe, my life would turned out different. Because this is the first part of my long journey of how I got involved in the business." Rosario reached for her golden necklace with BFF initials written on it that her best friend gotten it for her was hidden under her purse.
"Are you still in contact with your sister?" The journalist questioned, observing the sad expression on Rosario's face.
"No. After the arrest of Rafa Quintero, I stayed remain in the business while she reminded back home with my parents. The last time I spoke to her was two years ago after the arrest. She told me she was fine and was still recovering after the arrest. I've only heard the same thing these past decades from different people. They all say she's fine and was living happily, but how could I be certain?" Rosario closed her eyes trying not to cry. She was a strong woman, but when it came to her family it was her weakness.
"If only I had married that hideous gringo, everything will probably be different. Maybe I would be sitting here today talking to Sofia instead of a journalist. Don't you think that's a little insane? That in only one night, everything can affect how the rest of your life turns out?"
Author's note
Thanks so much for reading! I'm planning on deleting my other story since didn't like it and wanted to try something different. This is fictional but I change some of the parts.

AUTHOR'S NOTE!
I'm just trying something that's why I deleted my other stories. Also there will be Spanish and English in this story. There will be some changes in instead of the true events happening in the show. The characters that I created are mine and Narcos Mexico characters are owned by Netflix. With that being said I hope you enjoy!
