Karmanami Week Day 2: School days | Future

Some dusting for the tables, a bit of sweeping for the floor, and a little wiping for the equipment for good measure was all it took for the lab to regain its squeaky clean glory.

Squeaky clean…such a state was almost unheard of seven years ago. This lab was home to many chemical disasters. Even her successful experiments were followed by a laborious thorough clean-up

Manami gently swiped her finger across the smooth wooden surface and allowed the nostalgic mood to take her further down memory lane, back to the fun times of assassination when their teacher was still among them. Years had passed, but his presence never seemed to have truly faded. Even today, as she was entering the old campus once again, Manami could've sworn she felt a familiar tentacle wrap itself around her shoulders and pull her into a comforting embrace. Manami wondered if this was just her brain playing tricks on her or was Korosensei still around. Whether or not a spirit realm existed will forever be a mystery to her, but the possibilities remained endless.

With a sigh, she finally gathered the willpower to leave the lab as well as the fond memories she'd created alongside all that deadly poison. She soon found herself in another room of even greater memories—the classroom, where her fiancé was—or rather, had been cleaning. He was now busy doodling on the board.

"Is that a cake?" Manami asked as she stepped closer.

"Yup," He said, popping the p, "Can you tell what kinda cake it is?"

What else would it be? "A strawberry cake,"

"And…?"

"And?"

Chuckling, Karma began to draw two figurines on top, with one of the clearly wearing a wedding dress. Manami laughed before wrapping her arms around the man's neck and pecking his cheek.

"I'm not that short, you know."

Karma gave her a playful grin. "Okay, we'll get the bride figurine a stool."

"Karma,"

"And glasses; don't worry."

What was she going to do with this man? She leaned over to plant another kick on his cheek, only for Karma to capture her mouth with his. He let out a smug chuckle, clearly proud of this little stunt. Pulling back, he turned his entire body around and tugged Manami into his embrace, not even giving the chance to react before he kissed her over and over again; on her lips, cheeks, shoulders—wherever he wanted.

She could almost hear Korosensei's squeal at this intimate display. No doubt he'd be in the process of writing a best-seller right now, face flushed pink and the famous Nurufufufu bouncing across the walls. The thought brought a large smile to Manami's lips as she made a mental note to honor Korosensei at their wedding ceremony, such as reserving a seat for him at the front. She'll have to make sure she brings it up with Karma…when he's finished that is. He can take his time, Manami thought as she wrapped his arms around him again, she’ll gladly wait.

Karmanami Week Day 1: Gift

Nothing out of the ordinary had occurred up until lunch time, during which they'd would sit together and chat endlessly about chemical experiments and pranks. Okuda was usually the one who went over to Karma's desk, never once empty-handed, and today was no different.

But rather than a vital or flask whose contents worried their classmates, she held a suspiciously normal-looking thermos that still worried their classmates. Karma's own expression was that of mild curiosity as he tried to think of what the girl had prepared for him today.

The last he expected was strawberry milk; homemade strawberry milk to be exact.

"My mom tried making strawberry cheese cake yesterday, but it didn't turn out well."

"Did she burn the kitchen again?" Karma asked before taking another sip.

"No, but the walls are going to need some renovating." She answered, "And the cake didn't turn out well, so we couldn't add strawberry toppings."

She then beamed. "But then I remembered your favorite drink and thought we could use them to make homemade strawberry milk instead."

Karma's own lips curled up into a smile, smaller than the one Okuda wore. It was genuine at first, but then it took on a more playful feel. "So you were thinking of me, huh?"

"Of course," She said like it was obvious, "Strawberries remind me of you."

Yeah, Karma didn't know how to respond to that. You'd think the comment would offend him, but he knew Okuda meant no ill will behind her words. She was too nice to tease him.

And…the connotation was pretty much his fault for, you know, drinking strawberry milk almost daily…not that he'll actually admit it, he grumpily thought while sipping more milk. Instead, he settling on saying just one thing.

"Thanks, I appreciate it."

And Karma meant it; he really did. It was a simple gift for no occasion, no catch. Okuda just felt like making it. She could've bought it from any store, but chose to make it with her own hands and with him in mind. Karma couldn't deny he was flattered. It was just like when he'd ask a specific chemical; Okuda would pour all her time and effort just to give him what he wanted.

However, these chemical concoctions she'd work so hard on did not solely comprise of his nefarious requests, but also of her own ideas that she eagerly wanted to share with him. He was always the first to see her latest creations; that's how much trust she had in him, how much trust she had given him.

The flavor only seemed to grow sweeter with each sip he took. How generous was Okuda Manami, always giving and giving. Time, effort, trust—she gave him nothing but the most valuable. How Karma managed to befriend such a pure soul was beyond him. Karma didn't just appreciate the homemade drink; he appreciated Okuda.

"Say," He began, toying with the now empty thermos, "You think we can add some Cyanide in this?"

Karmanami Week 2023 Day One: Gift | Anniversary

On their first anniversary as a couple, there are flowers and a candlelit table because, apparently, Karma is more romantic than she thought.

She loves it, even if she's panicking inwardly.

Karma helped her with her seat, gave her beautiful flowers, and presented her with a beautiful butterfly hair brooch, and was an absolute gentleman all day while she…,

She feels that now her own gift to him is…, very unromantic in comparison.

There is fear and distress mingled in her expression as she hands him his gift. A blush born only of the absolute mortification she feels. She was basic in comparison, not trying too hard and sticking to old ways; she should have done more and put in real effort; they are a couple now! And she really wants to show her feelings to Karma and wants him to understand how important he is to her and–

Karma laughs as he opens it. He gives an honest laugh as he carefully takes the knife set she gave him.

Manami blinks, trying to understand what that means and how she should respond.

"I love it." He clarifies as he looks at her as if reading her thoughts. There's a fond smile on his face. "We really are something else, aren't we?"

"Huh?"

Akabane, instead of answering her again, walks over to her, takes the butterfly he gave her, and touches some mechanism Okuda hadn't paid attention to.

Immediately a little dagger appears from the butterfly.

"Oh!" she exclaims, her eyes shining with new adoration at her new brooch as relief washes over her. "I thought..."

"I know what you thought," interrupts Karma, still smiling. "It shows all over your lovely face," he teased. "Don't worry, though. We matched."

Small Karumana headcanons:

Karma casually drops hints that he’s interested in Okuda.

Okuda is oblivious and thinks everything is just a friendly gesture.

Everyone in class is aware of Karma’s hints and they’re cheering him on from the sidelines.

Sometimes Okuda deals deadly blows on Karma without even knowing it.

Their friends notice and enjoy the sight of Karma losing his composure.

Throughout high school, Karma regularly invites Okuda to go out to make up for being in different schools.

Sometimes Kayano, Kanzaki, Nagisa, and Sugino are around because Karma likes seeing Okuda’s smile when she’s surrounded by more friends.

Sometimes Nakamura joins in but that usually entails Karma getting teased for how long it’s taking Okuda to notice his hints.

Maehara, Isogai, and Terasaka have stalked these two on outings a few times just to make sure Karma isn’t secretly involving Okuda in a crime.

They just felt bad for Karma sometimes when they witness him drop a very obvious hint and it just flies over Okuda’s head.

Nakamura, Fuwa, and Kurahashi have tried to help Okuda realize but she quickly dismissed it as Karma’s way of being comfortable.

Okuda loves cooking bentos for their outings that she ends up making a lot so eventually Karma made it a habit to skip breakfast just so he can say that his first meal of the day was made by Okuda.

On busier weeks, Karma insists that they study and do homework together. Okuda agrees because she finds it interesting to learn from another school’s science curriculum.

During reunions, others try to tease Okuda hoping she’d become conscious of her close relationship with Karma. Okuda denies it and tells them that Karma just thinks of her as a best friend and that he’s really important to her.

Others don’t know whether to be happy for Karma because she thinks he’s important to her or to be sad because it just sounds like he’s deep in the friendzone.

The boys love teasing Karma about his lack of progress because they didn’t think someone as popular as Karma would be stuck in the friendzone for such a long time.
