Tiso and Quirrel talk during the walk to Dirtmouth. Upon arrival, Quirrel talks to the residents of the small town while Tiso, bothered by them, tries to find seclusion. Tiso has a deeply unpleasant run-in with a small machine that he hopes he'll never have to see again.

They *are* the only one that Hatchite has even begun to open up to since their Launch Day, and out of all the non-Gabbro Hearthians, they’ve spent the most time with Hatchite by a kilometer. They know pretty much everything about pre-Launch Day Hatchite… but that doesn’t help them here, because they have no clue how much Hatchite has changed.

They're speechless, completely dumbfounded. In all their time trapped in the Ash Twins Project, they've never had a loop go this horrifically before. They're trying to stay calm as they run through all the options of what they could possibly do, but their optimism is quickly failing them.

The other Hearthian flinches at the sudden contact, but they don't try to pull their arm out of their grasp. Hatchite lets out a long sigh, before turning back to face Hal. "I don't know if I'm okay. I don't know if I'm going to be okay again." They say. It almost sounds like a confession, and it only hammers the question of *what exactly happened to them on that Launch Day flight* further into their brain. They want to ask, they need to, they need to know what happened to their best friend so they can help them through this. But they and everyone else have already asked a million times, and they haven't gotten any closer to understanding what really happened.
