chimney being the heart of the 118 because home and family to him have always always been what he builds from the ground up. being an immigrant with his mom and getting left behind by his dad, finding a family in the lees to the point that kevin and them are still home to him in so many ways. changing the 118 in the best way, being the laughter and the heart, wanting more to be more than just coworkers. introducing hen and karen, agreeing to help buck’s sister move in after she got to LA even though he didn’t know who she was. even his relationship with albert, his blood family, was built slowly with love and trust and loyalty just. he is what it means to love!!! he is the heart of the 118 and the root of this family. chimney han you deserve the world.

it’s just the way that chimney has never had to hide his anxiety around maddie. and the way she has wholly accepted it. she doesn’t roll her eyes or tell him he’s being stupid, she doesn’t laugh at him.

she eases it, she jokes with him, she makes sure he knows that she loves him, that she thinks he hung the moon and the stars no matter what. and last night was the perfect example of maddie knowing that this would pass, but she still sat up with him for hours making a spreadsheet that she knew wouldn’t last but she did it for him, because she knew it would ease his anxiety, she knew it would make him feel comfortable and sitting up with him planning date nights for the next two months, gently easing him down from five dates a week to three… that was what he needed from her and she knew that. and when it does pass, just a few days later, she still doesn’t tell him that he was being silly or being ridiculous for being anxious about something that may or may not happen to then thirty years from now. she just asks him if something else happened on another call.

she accepts him and loves him in a way that perfectly parallels the versions of them in season two, where she was the one who needed to feel comfortable and needed to feel as though she was just… easy to love, to be around, worthy of being accepted. and now she’s in the mentally healthiest place she has been in years and she has shown chimney, over and over again, how easy it is for her to love him, how gently she can ease him through every moment of anxiety he has.

and it truly is one of the most beautiful things between maddie and chimney. because both of them have been shown or told how difficult they make it to love them or how they aren’t worthy or good enough. but not once will they ever feel that way around each other.

I don't really understand why there's sometimes still "well during the lawsuit they did have a point that chimney was allowed back to the job a lot faster than buck" takes. because like it or not, think it's good writing or not, chimney, both times (rebar and stabbing) did not have any complications. he had his time off, he healed up, and then he was ready to come back. this did not happen for buck. and that is unfortunate for him! but like. there is no "gotcha" there. chimney healed with no complications and buck didn't. that isn't chimney's fault or bobby's or anyone else's

“i don’t understand what’s happening in palestine so i won’t comment on it” of course you don’t understand. most of us will never understand what it’s like to go for months without electricity, without water, without literal food. most of us won’t understand what it’s like talking to loved ones at lunch and then having to witness their bodies in body bags by dinner. no, you will never understand what that feels like—but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t care. that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t educate yourself. that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t donate. there’s only one thing uglier than willful ignorance—and that’s willful ignorance borne from selfishness and a severe lack of compassion. if you care anything about humanity as a concept, palestine should be your problem regardless of who you are, where you live, or where you’re from.
