nothing will ever amaze me the way fanfiction authors do. like, you wrote silly little stories about my favorite little guys? and i can read them?? for free??? that’s fucking wild.

Yes. This.

Having been for several years on the front against misinformation about vaccination, that is extremely accurate.

The antivaxx crowds are feeding off scared parents.

It's already hard enough to find reliable information and to be able to decypher it properly on a normal day, now imagine being:

A prospective parent

A new parent

The amount of information that they are receiving and the number of things that they have to be careful and afraid of is mindboggling. Anybody would start questioning everything and looking out for anything that could go wrong for their child.

And what do you think scared parents do when they want to get informed on medicine for their child?

They Google this, verbatim: "vaccines danger".

The amount of fearmongering that will be thrown at them the next second would terrify anyone, and that isn't even starting on them doing the same thing on social media. Parents are not hooked, they're harpooned into the antivaxx movement, because that movement uses their fears for their children as a way to push them in that direction.

It is crucial to understand that when you want to fight against that movement: it is a work of reassurance. Mocking the antivaxxers, especially the ones that get out on the other side like her, is never going to make a difference. Teaching them how to look at resources is how it works.

It's a long process, and it almost always takes a huge shock or an observation that cannot be missed to give them what they need, but it's how it's done.

She's extremely brave to have talked about her experience.

Aziraphale and Crowley call upon their aid as the troops of Heaven and Hell gather at the location of the final battle. Standing trapped between the two factions, tension rises when they come face to face with the Metatron. Excerpt: “Who wakes up, Aziraphale? Jesus?! ” Justice started to piece things together. “Eh…yes…we eh…Crowley and I…” “You have him right there, haven't you? We should just kill him right here and now!” Furfur let go of Justice’s hand and walked furiously towards the black Bentley, which was hastily parked sideways, on the gravel, next to the green Jaguar. Aziraphale sighed. “No, we can’t, even the four of us working together wouldn’t be strong enough to…to stop him.” Crowley ran after Furfur and grabbed his arm to stop him from opening the backseat door. “Nrrrrgh, don't be such an idiot!” hissed Crowley. “There is nothing we can do here! We need to get more help!”

Crowley is hurt and waiting for Aziraphale as the angel tries to find his way in Heaven. The only way they can figure out God's ineffable plan is to work together again. And that means overcoming temptations and tests from Heaven and Hell - and finally breaking down the walls around them both.

Excerpt: Crowley wanted to kick Aziraphale out at the same time he wanted to wrap his arms around the stupid angel and never let him leave again. But this was his flat and he would be damned – or more so – if he was going to let Aziraphale think for one minute the angel was in charge. “I was under the impression this isn’t a social visit, Aziraphale. That we have another apocalypse to stop?”
