well to be honest, im fairly confident that man knows exactly what an ethogirl is and enjoys asking funny questions don't remember my exact answer, but it was something along the lines of "well you know what swifties are? like that but u" cause we were talking about music that got a laugh from the hermits, and bdubs and etho proceeded to poke fun at my music taste for a few minutes lmao

since we’re quite literally in the last hours of season nine, I just sort of want to go over the INSANE NUMBER OF THINGS that happened this season:

the spawn village!

the whole entity thing. remember when the fandom was insane about the entity for like two months.

the egg hunt!

the diamond pillar contest!

hotguy became a thing!

KING REN, a storyline that lasted several months and included:

a quest system people actually quite liked!

corruption that people somewhat disliked!

oh wait now it’s time for SCAR’S CHARITY STREAM! remember that happened this season? it raised an absurd amount of money? YEAH.

also total chaos goes somewhere around here on the timeline I think.

the king ren minigame finale!

TCG! the TCG happened here!

THE CROSSOVER! let’s not forget HOW COOL THE CROSSOVER WAS, shall we?

I think I’m allowed to put mcytblr sexyman on here next because while that wasn’t the fault of the hermits it feels like it should go on any fandom timeline here and also joe DID technically bring it to the server.

I want to repeat: THE TCG HAPPENED IT WAS EXTREMELY GOOD THE ENTIRE SERVER PLAYED IT FOR MONTHS. it feels like THAT was a season ago at this point, man…

the museum conflict starts about here! cleo and cub start both building museums!

the perimeter versus the buttercups, capped off with the single most impressive hermitcraft prank of all time!

DECKED OUT 2 OPENS!!!

blue river raceway happens!

and SO MANY MORE hermit adventures, each in their own episodes! I’m sure I missed SOMETHING here—I was mostly going for storylines that involved more than one hermit, and even then i keep on forgetting stuff happened this season, lol.

and finally, out of order but worth noting: rest peacefully, TFC.

Session of the Killing Boogeymen

Cleo’s episode is so genuinely eerie. There is no music. There is no hope of survival. Just her and Etho, having a little bit of fun as red lives. Doing things they’ve never gotten the chance to do before it’s all over. Ethos burns a couple things. Cleo plays with wardens. They swear their loyalty. Cleo tells Etho if it’s just them left, they’ll let him win. But they both know they aren’t going to make it. When Etho falls, it is sudden and jarring, but Cleo and Grian know there’s no hope. Grian screams, but Cleo is quiet. She knows how this is going to end.

Unlike Etho and Cleo, Grian doesn’t seem to understand it’s over.

“I thought Bdubs was friends with us?”

“Bdubs is friends with Etho.”

Cleo is so quiet near the end. She is quiet when Grian blows up the nether portal trying to kill Gem and the Scott’s. She is quiet when Scar finally kills her.

“We knew it was going to end that way.”

Gonna spend some time cleaning up the Secret Life Spreadsheet for the final post but I just need everyone to see this absolutely WILD graph that was so insane I had to triple fact check to make sure I wasn't losing my mind.

Are. Are you kidding me.

I swear I'm about to make one of these for every other season because I simply MUST know if this has always been the case, that one or two people get most of the kills. There's no way right??? Scar was simply on something this finale (Gem is always Like That I was expecting her to look this way)

Also fun tidbit: all three of Etho's deaths were because of Scar. He killed that man three times. Etho is the only person who died the same way every time.
