The above passage if from the new book on Targaryen History, specifically from the section on the Dance of the Dragons. Jacaerys Velaryon, the son of the disputed Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen embarks on a journey, together with his dragon, Vermax, to various lords to ask for their support of his mother in her claim to the throne.

When he arrives at Winterfell to treat with Lord Cregan Stark, Vermax is described reacting adversely to the cold climes of the North, understandably, as he is a creature of fire. 

Assuming D&D are aware of this fact of dragon behavior, it seems Dragon Mama is in for a couple of temper tantrums upon her arrival north. 

And it goes without saying, when dragon babies are upset, Dragon Mama is furious.

sometimes i get sad thinking about jon & sansa 

like im thinking about their first time together and it would probably be so soft and tender and wonderful, especially for her. but how hard it must be for jon, seeing her covered in scars, knowing someone had put them on her body? how sad he must have been inside, knowing someone had hurt her the way ramsay had hurt her. and joffrey too. 

he would be so gentle with her, knowing she’d never been treated right by a man in all of her life, except by their father. and even he failed her in some ways (dont fucking talk to me about lady, alright??). she needed a man to protect her and all she got were monsters. she needed someone to love and cherish her and all she got was abuse and neglect. 

i dont even think they’re first time undressing for each other leads to sex. honestly, i imagine jon touching every single scar she has, and sansa touching his too. they both know how long its taken them to get to this very moment and its not about sex its about being intimate with each other in ways beyond that. they spend all night talking about their scars because its what they need. now that theres time to talk, they need to unload SO MUCH on each other because up until now, there’s been no time. there’s been nothing but war and struggles and threats of death. they deserve hundreds of nights of just laying in bed with one another, finally being able to come to terms with everything they’ve been through, alone and together. 

im drunk & caught up in my feels :( 

i just want happy endings for them. thats all i want.

What are some parallels/similarities between Sansa and Good Queen Alysanne? Are there any?

Are there any? You must be kidding me. There are tons….

I mentioned a few in one of my Fire and Blood posts (here), and I talked about Sansa’s and Alysanne’s parallel personalities in an ask answer (here).

I would also alert you to this post by @undeadmanbun where they go into detail about a parallel in the show.

There is a thread on @jonsameta for the ‘Alysansa’ parallels (here).

And there is also this post by @jonsansasource where you can find most of the parallels (x). I would alert you to the fact that this was published shortly after season 6 aired. The Jonsa fam has been talking about Sansa/Alysanne parallels for ages.

Sorry, for directing you mostly to the reblogs on my own blog, but this is where I found the posts in question. I do think that @queenalysansa had a post about this as well, but I couldn’t find it.

You could probably search on @jonsameta for Alysanne Targaryen, there are more posts, visual parallels to the pictures in the Fire and Blood book etc.

The Sansa/Alysanne parallels bug the antis so much - which should show you how obvious they are…. One of them argued that Alysanne - of whom Septon Barth said, that as a man she could have become a maester - could not possibly be Sansa (despite the fact, that she is polite, kind, loves romance etc. etc.) because Sansa is not as intelligent.

It is canon after all that Sansa was not good in math. Sry, not sry, in our world we have actual professors at university - which is the equivalent of the citadel - who are not good at math. Because, although I would be first in saying that math is important, there are some fields there it is not necessary to know math. Sansa knows her history, her genealogy, she is talented in the arts, has organisational talents and she has a very high emotional intelligence. But she can’t do sums, therefore she can’t be Alysanne (when we know nothing about Alysanne’s math talents). And all because the logical conclusion of Sansa/Alysanne parallels is very close to Jonsa. Jaehaerys as a Jon stand-in is also very obvious after all.

So, have a nice time reading all about these ‘non-existing’ parallels! And just for the record: Me appreciating the Sansa/Alysanne parallels does not meant I want Sansa to become a Targ or ride a dragon. No thanks, Targs can keep that.

Hum... idk, maybe because the entire tag is full of metas claiming that Sansa is a queen who can never be wrong and is smarter than everyone while Jon is useless? I have nothing against jonsa, and I don't care about jonerys ether, but this seems contradictory to me.

Ok. You seem to confuse the metas focusing on Sansa’s character and her role in the story and the posts putting Sansa against Jon. I assure you, those two are very different. There is much focus on Sansa in the jonsa tag, I’ll give you that, but I’m sure it hasn’t escaped your notice that there’s also a huge amount of hatred for the character outside of the jonsa/sansa stark fandoms, so writing in her defense almost became a reflex at this point. Jon is a popular character, so the same problem doesn’t apply to him.

Plus, you know, S8 is going to start airing soon and it’s fun to speculate on Sansa’s reaction to Jon’s decision and Dany’s arrival in Winterfell. Especially since she’s the one who’ll most likely handle the political consequences of Jon’s true parentage. The Northern lords will be pissed, that’s for sure.

I’d like to make one thing clear here. I do not and have never thought Jon to be useless and dumb. Not during the Battle of Bastards and not during his trip to Dragonstone.

What were the facts in Jon’s possesion when he left Winterfell? A - The Night King and his army are coming. B- The North is alone in this fight. C - If Westeros cannot find a way to unit against a common ennemy, then they’re all doomed.

That’s it, that’s all he knows. We know that Bran is the one who will ultimately save them all. Jon doesn’t ( he doesn’t even know that Bran is alive). All he knows for sure is that they need allies AND weapons. Dany’s dragons may not make much difference in the end, but she has the men and she controls the access to the dragonglass.

So Jon left. And he came back with 2 dragons, weapons and an army.

Doesn’t mean that I agree with all his decisions, mind you, but legit the only thing that would make me call him dumb is if the writers truly decide to go with the “he gave away the North for looooovvveeeeee” route. There has to be more to his decision. If there isn’t, then not only is he dumb, but he’s also a traitor.

EDIT: also, I don’t consider Sansa to be the smartest of them all or anything. She can and has been wrong in the past. But she learns from her mistakes and makes sure to never repeat them. That’s one of her many strengths. Sansa’s political skills are vital in the long term and if you can’t see that my friend, then idk what to tell you.
