there's a fun contrast here between nightwing and batman in that nightwing pauses to acknowledge/interact with the civilians. it's such a small aside but it makes me think a lot about how the reason tim remembers him so vividly is just that he was nice to him. and i think it's just an integral part of dick's character that he will always take a moment for others. and sometimes to a fault (see: wayne family adventures #27-28)

"care to elaborate?" he drawls, tone carefully bored. it's not like jeremiah isn't perfectly aware of what brings his brother here - though - with further consideration, it could be a few things. there are some traps he'd set some time ago that never were utilized, but also that he never disarmed. it could be one of those. and wouldn't that be just that much funnier?
