Cornflower: What do you think about the most?

Dogs. Tiny dogs that look like poofballs. Big dogs that look like lions. Mutts with character and cute faces. Shih tzus with their cute ponytails. You might say, “Laney, you can’t really think about dogs that often.” Oh, but I beg to differ. I certainly can and do.

❛ Boy, you are really not a morning person.

Pushing hair from her face, she flashed the male a sardonic smile before her eyes drifted close, the hand supporting her chin wobbling precariously. “Well, what can I say? I was up all night and coffee might just be actual evil in liquid form. I also refuse to drink any energy drinks after that time I stayed up two days and chugged like six and was sick for days after.” she mumbled, shifting in her seat to try and become more comfortable.

A moment of silence passed between them, the soft sound of even breathing the only sound in the room, before her head slipped from her hand, jerking her awake violently. “Wha-wh?! Oh...it’s still you.” Stretching arms above her head, she popped her back coming to terms with the fact that’d it’d be hours before she could sleep. “Did you need something? I don’t think I ever asked.” she managed through a yawn.

Candy Apple: How do you think others view you?

Ehue, good question. Hopefully they view me as kind, considerate and genuinely good. I don’t feel like I’ve really done anything to convey a different type of perspective but you never really know. First impressions can be tricky and I can admit I can be moody at times but I try my very best to be patient and kind, regardless of what I’m feeling inside. But listen, as one of my great American heroes, RuPaul, said, “what others think of me is none of my business” and that saying has kept me out of a lot of drama.

Dandelion: What’s a pet peeve of yours? 

Honestly, I have a list of pet peeves eight miles long, I’m just usually too nice to say anything or make a fuss. However, unwarranted comments on people’s appearances is enough to get me riled up most of the time. It’s just unnecessary and hateful, y’know? It takes seconds to destroy someone’s confidence and people do it without a second thought.

Outer Space: Do you ever feel like you’re an outcast from others?

Not really, no. I used to when I was getting used to the culture and the changes between the US and Korea but now it’s second nature. I think the older you get the more assured you become with yourself, at least, that’s how I feel so the outcast problem hasn’t really cropped up since I was younger.

It’s really gotten to the point that my own voice is like white noise.” she laughed, admitting the truth with a blasé shrug of the shoulders. “You get good at tuning it out after years of hearing it through a speaker or in playback. So, honestly, if I just said something really stupid just now, I’m oblivious to it.” 

Tucking a wandering strand of blonde hair behind her ear, she gave another shrug, at a loss for words. “Was it that bad? Was it offensive or just downright dumb?”

Look at what you've done!" she cried, holding up a trio of draw four cards, a look of absolute betrayal etched onto her features. “You’re awful, the actual worst!” she groaned, throwing her overflowing hand of cards onto the table before burying her face in her hands.”

“Hey, hey, hey. I’m the PR specialist. Don’t try using words like slander to try and save yourself. You’re dirty; admit it!”

"Listen, " she laughed, the corners of her eyes crinkling in amusement as she did her best to stifle chuckle, hoping he wouldn’t take her laughter the wrong way. “If you had a bad day, we can drink some wine-- or soju for you since I refuse to share my moscato, watch a lame horror movie and binge on sweets. I’m all about that idea, really. The death thing-- nah. Who’s gonna do my next tattoo if you’re dead, huh? No way, you’re stuck in the world of the living, suffering with me.”

She flashed him a cheeky grin before making her way to her fridge, returning mere seconds later with a bottle of soju in one hand and a bottle of pink moscato in the other. “So, what do you say? Down for my plan?”

making no attempt to conceal her obvious annoyance at his remark about her height, she fixed the male with a blank stare. "haven't ever heard that one before." shrugging her shoulders, she wrinkled her nose and this time when she made eye contact, her gaze was softer. "get your 'pipsqueak's and 'tiny's out now. if you call me any names relating to my height later i can't be held accountable for my actions."
