cool great to know our shortened suddenly-final season not only was missing a principle character for about a third of it but also wasted over half of the season focusing on a guy from a different branch of the franchise that nobody asked for and who has genuinely done nothing but detract from the characters we were all actually there for

nothing i can say that others haven’t said already but there is a really prevalent and abject cruelty in parading vanessa in particular around as your evidence of diversity only to cancel her objectively incredibly successful and profitable show within a month. and the extra kick of it being lesbian visibility day when it’s one of the only shows currently airing with canonical lesbians in it is an unbelievably insidious move

actually i think we should talk about “6 months later, she walks into the bullpen” more. you’re lucy tara. a few months into your new job you had a whirlwind weekend romance with some random woman you will never see again. all good. she leaves and you move on. you’re making friends at work and trying to impress your new boss at your very important federal office. then 6 months after your one-weekend-stand, said one-weekend-stand walks into your place of work. turns out, she has an even more important federal job than you do and also her job is to make your job harder. presumably within minutes she is dubbed “the mean girl” but all you can think about is how nice she can be. like. screw recreating how they first met, i want that flashback scene. clearly nobody noticed anything off since the team don’t learn about them until they start sleeping together again. but like by the pilot, lucy knows not only where kate’s apartment is, but how to get into the building. simply. what were those early months like when kate first started. sure she’s the new mean girl but lucy is also the only person she knows on the island at first. i just. where is THAT flashback scene. were they serving pretty little liars pilot realness with a classic ezra fitz “oh shit” moment? did kate meet the whole team at once, did she find lucy alone in the bullpen first? i just. i think we don’t talk about this enough. you never thought you would see her again and now you work together most days and your whole team hates her. incredible choice tbh.
