god the scene leading up to jenna finding out about vampires is one of the funniest and also most nauseating scenes. like from jenna's perspective her kind of boyfriend has clearly been keeping a secret from her and she can't tell how seriously she should be taking it until her niece's 17 year old boyfriend shows up for some undiscernable reason with literal fear in his eyes and then suddenly she starts feeling like maybe she can't tell how weirded out or maybe how scared she should be. and then we cut back to the three of them just like. later in the afternoon? sitting at uncomfortable distances from each other in the same room. she seems to let this go on for a long time and has given up trying to discern what's happening in the situation at all and is instead defeatedly eating something while her romantic interest wiggles his eyebrows and goes i am obsessed with vampires, do you believe in vampires? how about werewolves? haha. i am a freak. of course all topped off with your niece's 17 year old boyfriend holding a knife to your maybe ex boyfriend's throat after he threatened your life. weird afternoon.
