hey! i don't know if you're active anymore but i remember listening to your finnish covers of the evillious chronicles and like, to my 10-12 (i dont even remember anymore) year old self, seeing finnish covers and lyrics of those songs were the highlight of my vocaloid life. i know you probably cringe when reading this bc they didn't have high audio quality, but to me they still have intense sentimental value. i just wanted to reach out and say thank you. you're awesome

You don’t need a reason to not like a ship.  You don’t need a reason not to ship a ship, canon or otherwise.  You don’t have to prove it’s “problematic” or “abusive” or any of that shit.

You’re allowed to just not like it.  You can literally just say “eh, I don’t like it, it’s just not my thing” and that’s valid.  You don’t have to explain it or excuse it.  Just say you don’t like it and move the fuck on, for fuck’s sake.

And if the show had put more emphasis on topics like feminism and misogyny, those same people would be saying "why does every show have to be about SJW politics nowadays" and "does it have to be about her being a woman, can't it just be about her playing chess".

i hate the criticisms of queen’s gambit that are like “it’s unrealistic that she doesn’t face as much misogyny in a such a male dominated field in the 60′s” and i’m like that’s the whole point???? it’s a female power fantasy!!!! we WANT to see her triumph because of her merits and not have incredibly arbitrary and unjust obstacles like sexism in her way, lol. we want to see her be supported by the men and women in her life. it doesn’t have to be true to reality, that’s why it’s so good.

Penelope Scott makes music for girls who felt so excited to grow up and do so many things and then got slowly crushed into gray little cubes by all of The Systems in place in society that just drain all of the everything out of us, and then we have to fill our little cube voids with something, or we'll implode, so we fill them with our anger at school and at corporations and with our deep and nearly endless sadness and grief for the genuinely happy and excited-for-life kids we used to be and we fill them with our disappointment in our potential we not only didn't reach but lost altogether and with our rage at all of the individual singular persons that fucked us all over, and even with all of that emotion packed into our tiny little crushed up soul corpse cubes they still aren't full, and we know that we won't ever be able to totally fill them up because even though they're just the smallest, saddest parts of who we used to be, we've lost too much of ourselves to complete even those, and all of it just makes us so fucking sad and angry and most of all, it just makes us lost.

Yeah, but "hän" is usually translated to either he or she depending on the person's gender, that's why I used those words since the post is in English. The point was that the pronouns that sound completely normal in English can sound way too formal in Finnish, not what those pronouns are exactly.

if someones pronouns are it/its you are obligated to use them and if not youre being transphobic for misgendering it and not respecting its pronouns

it absolutely does not matter if it makes you uncomfortable because other peoples pronouns arent about your comfort

you think its insulting to trans people? you think its dehumanizing? cool. maybe that person wants to reclaim it, wants to take something that could be used as a form of violence against trans people and take it unto itself. maybe it doesnt consider itself human. maybe literally no other pronouns feel right. maybe its just what its comfortable with for any number of reasons that arent any of your goddamn business because people dont have to justify their pronouns for them to be worthy of respect

use peoples correct pronouns no excuses or exceptions

For context: in Finnish it’s completely normal to call people “it” while talking casually (regardless of their pronouns - different pronouns aren’t even really a thing in Finnish, we just use one gender neutral pronoun, “hän”).
