i am going to tell you what your muse is experiencing soul-crushing nostalgia towards right now.

a place you once knew. maybe it's somewhere you visited once, somewhere you go regularly, or somewhere you lived at one point. regardless, you long desperately to go back and just be. just exist there. is it the landscape you miss ? the excitement of a city or the pleasant solitude of a small town ? is it the people ? do you need to make something right there ? whatever it is, you need to go back. your heart is aching. you can't stop picturing yourself walking the streets, taking in your surroundings. did you know you'd feel this way when you were there ? how could you have predicted this feeling when you had it all in the moment ?

A question, then, presents itself on the tip of Irene's tongue in answer to Donna's words: about what ? But before it can tumble out of her mouth, Irene grimaces, then looks away from Donna and to the side. This grimace is not directed at Donna though, mind; Rather it's directed at the question, not liking how… direct it sounds, how rudely, to her, it seems to ask for no other answer than one that goes straight to the point, without taking in consideration that, perhaps, it's not so easy a topic to talk about.

Of course, she'd like to know the reason behind such an anger - but not like this. Thus, she takes a moment to rethink her question - to reword it, and while she does her lips move soundlessly while she tests the word out.

When she has found something to her liking, her gaze returns on Donna, and she starts with a: ❝ w-would talking about it help ? ❞ while intertwining her hands in front of her, distractedly playing with her fingers. ❝ can I help, in any way ? ❞
