I’m actually in tears over cotg right now

Like sometimes when authors return to characters, the voice just isn’t there anymore

But I’m coincidentally rereading tlt (as one does) and I swear to all the gods… it’s still Percy, true to form. I can’t even describe it. It’s not just the attitude and the sassiness, it’s the whole flushed out character, with history and relationships and experiences.

And I love how even though it’s still the same voice and the original books, there’s a lot more maturity. Like the way he reflects over the incidents that occurred in the pjo is so different to how he is recounting them at the time they occur.
