It has nothing to do with “caring”. You can care about a person and not act motherly to them. You can care about a person and still have a dynamic where you don’t treat that person as if you are their caregiver. But I guess you don’t know the difference.

Post canon Toph who doesn’t want to go back to her shitty parents so she just decides to stay in the Fire Nation and bum off Zuko’s hospitality.

No matter how strong I think my hypothetical partner is, I would be dedicated to search for them if they were to get lost.

It’s not even about them being strong or weak. People can get caught up in things and might end up in situations that are difficult to get out of. I’m assuming you watched the show, so you should know that in that universe, that’s a strong likelihood.

Hell, ask any girl who has a boyfriend what would they do is they knew their bf got lost and is somewhere they don’t know. Chances are, worry about them every minute and make their hardest they try to reach them.
