Group date idea: we all watch DPS but everyone has to pick one character and pay particular attention to all the silly things they do and how they act. After that we all share what we noticed and kiss or smth
me when im trying to tell someone about the deleted scene in dead poets society where todd helps neil with his lines for the play and theyre laughing and joking and heading towards the dock, which makes the end of the film all the more meaningful and emotional when todd runs to the dock screaming neil’s name
all dps fanfiction is so fucking good but the one thing that I disagree with is people writing that todd isn't good with words, usually in the context of love confessions or whatever. like yuh my guy doesn't talk a lot, but that boy is a POET and a writer. he knows exactly what he wants to say, and how to say it, he just gets choked up on the delivery because of his anxiety. out of the two of them, neil is bad with words. he's an actor who needs a script to get through a single conversation without it turning into nonsense
They indeed have a full album of covers, with some of the most notable being Ballroom Blitz by Sweet, Supermassive Black Hole by Muse, Come As You Are by Nirvana, and (Don’t Fear) The Reaper by Blue Öyster Cult.
Pitts started off in the band with a buzz cut, and he hasn’t had a haircut since (with the only exception of a few split-end trims)
In the background of a bass interlude, you can hear the other members chant “Meeks” quietly in the background.
Neil leaves thank-you notes and generous tips on napkins or scrap papers for local service providers who treat him and his bandmates kindly
Charlie has a crown dotting the “i” in his autograph
Cameron helps to name most of their songs
Pitts and Meeks’ only co-written song is titled “Radio Free America,” which released shortly after their relationship was released to the public. It’s a fan favorite.
In the dedications of every album, the first person Neil dedicates music to is Todd.
Charlie picks one random staff member before every show to paint his nails. They get to choose the design.
Knox makes at least one pop culture movie reference per show
Keating sometimes goes with them on tour, and his biggest joy is being the DM for their DnD campaign.
how's the fic going? (absoloutely no pressure btw)
Hi! You sent me this one whole ass year ago!
The short answer is good, the long answer is I have been through So Much Shit oh my LORD and did not write ANYTHING for months but now I am. Back??? Idk the creative energy is flowing and I actually wrote more today. Keep asking! I’ll do my best to not take a year to answer anymore!
It’s a Mitts fic, takes place during the canon storyline (but of course canon can kiss my ass I’m doing it my way). The biggest changes are that Meeks and Pitts are fine artists!!!
Meeks has a knack for music. He learned to play an acoustic guitar from the uncle his family frowned upon, and his parents believed that since he was so interested in music, he’d learn to play piano. He did, he’s good at it. He wishes Welton offered more music than bagpipes at dawn. He’s loved working on the radio because he really can listen to music again, listen to the lyrics he’d love to intermingle into his poems for Keating’s class. Music is just poetry with rhythm, after all.
Pitts is more of the connotative artist. He hides his sketchbooks, and typically only sketches or paints in the comfort of his dorm in the company of Meeks, or sometimes Todd. He doesn’t consider himself a prodigy, no, but he’s better than most and considers drawing a hobby. Oftentimes, when Meeks is hunched over his desk in the dorms, Pitts will curl up on his bed and sketch Meeks’ silhouette. He passes it off as realism study, but it still makes Meeks blush.
The radio seems to be a catalyst, as it leads them to poems of yearning and wistfulness, hastily flipped sketchbook pages, Meeks singing softly as Pitts pretends to be asleep, and slow dancing during a midnight flurry on the rooftop as loving you by elvis presley plays in the background.
Also featured in this fic: Bisexual LEGEND Charles Nuwanda Dalton, Richard “Finally, a Redemption Arc” Cameron, Alive And Well Neil, Todd Anderson ft. my poorly hidden undying love for him, obKnoxious, idiots in love (which ones, you ask? throw darts at a board, if it hits anything you’re right)
